Drom Sott (which means "sweet dreams" in Swedish) feels like you're staying in someone's cozy home. The rooms are impeccable and everything is arranged just so. The bed is super comfortable. The lobby has large couches and chairs tucked into nooks that you can relax in. My room was on the smaller side, but it was perfect for a single person (which I visited as) or two people who don't mind sharing a small room. A generous Scandinavian buffet breakfast is included with your stay. Options at breakfast included crepes with lingonberry jam, hardboiled eggs, herring, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and lots more. My favorite part of Drom Sott: Adult guests are welcome to visit the wine bar downstairs during their stay for a glass of complementary wine. Or two! There are also some little nibbly things (pretzels and Chex mix-ish snacks) to eat as you drink your wine. I drank my wine and then left the hotel to explore the cute Swedish neighborhood. Drom Sott is located in downtown Lindsborg, within walking distance to restaurants, shops and bars.

While in Wilson, we spotted the Midland Railroad Hotel and Restaurant and decided to arrange the itinerary for our next trip so we could spend the night in WIlson. So, we arrived late afternoon and got checked in. The hotel has been restored to what it was like around the 1920's but with full upgrades including fire sprinklers, air conditioning, etc. Our room was a bit on the small side (1920'ish) but was quite comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and we got a great night's sleep. The was a complimentary breakfast in the morning that consisted mostly of local bakery projects, meats and cheeses. If you looking for modern amenities or a full HOT breakfast, you should stick with the major hotel chains. BUT, if you're into history and histrorical restorations, this place can't be beat. We thoroughly enjoyed our night in Wilson at the Midland Railroad Hotel and Restaurant.

When we booked I specifically asked if the restaurant needed reservations, told definitely not but low & behold it did . Did get in to the restaurant , food & service atrocious . This was the best one I've stayed at! Hands down. I'm not exaggerating when I say the room itself was on par with a full service Marriott. Bonus: the parking lot was super well lit! I felt totally safe coming and going to walk my service dog. And the staff were lovely too! While the hotel has the same footprint as every other Fairfield, this one feels so fresh, new, clean, and with a contemporary twist on the classic Fairfield brand standards that we're all used to. Really enjoyed not having to check in and being able to go directly to my room with the mobile key actually functioning for once. Breakfast was same as it is at every other Fairfield.

My favorite hotel in McPherson!…read more Nicely located near the highway but tucked away to avoid all the main drag traffic. This location is about 6 years old but looks and smells new. Rooms are traditional and nothing spectacular but they are clean, well kept and they smell nice. The king suite has an extra seating area with a couch and work station which is nice. Two big tv's if that's matters and a small fridge and plenty of storage and plugs for devices. Near this hotel is a variety of fast food restaurants, Flyjng J gas station, Walmart, Bomgars, Starbucks and a quick five minutes to downtown McPherson. You can still get a room for $94/night on occasion but rarely over $130/night. Breakfast is to avoid because it's all processed but there is a decent gym and a pool which I have never used. There is a small concessions area near the front with a very limited selection of food and sundries. Angel is the manager and she is great to work with groups and deliver great customer service.

Are you're interested in ghosts? Do you think a demon has attached itself to you and won't let go?…read more(Hello, to my family.) Do you see things out of the corner of your eye and think, "That must have been a spirit?" Are you at all curious about the afterlife? Then you need to stay at The Historic Wolf Hotel in Ellinswood, Kansas. This hotel is haunted, according to the locals. They've seen things. Stuff happens in the rooms. I visited this hotel with a couple who had stayed here once, and they refused to stay a second time because they had experienced paranormal activity. Fair enough. I was booked for an overnight stay, and I admit, I was a little scared. My room looked like a Victorian dollhouse. There were mirrors in the room, and every time I looked in the mirrors, I expected to see a spirit. I don't believe in this kind of stuff, but I also don't not believe in it. Who am I to say these ghosts at The Historic Wolf Hotel don't exist? Maybe they do. But, it turns out, if they do exist, they didn't want to visit me. No, no ghosts visited me during my stay at the hotel. Whew. If you want a restful night's stay, I suggest packing a sleeping mask and ear plugs, because the only thing keeping you up at night will most likely be the trains that pass by every few hours that honk their horns. This hotel is located directly in front of an active train track, so you will be treated to train horns galore. The hotel, as a place to stay, is really neat. It has a common kitchen and dining room, with snacks and breakfast foods available to guests (think cereal, muffins, granola bars, etc.) You also have access to the Keurig coffee pot, which makes a nice cup of coffee. You can enjoy your little breakfast in your room, or in the shared dining room / sitting room. It's a pleasant place to relax. One thing to mention: The only way up to the rooms is via a steep series of stairs. So if you have a hard time climbing stairs or are in a wheelchair, this hotel might not be for you. The hotel also hosts lunches and dinners, and I happened to be here to sit for a dinner. We got a salad, main course and dessert, as it was lovely. I mentioned this in a different review, but across the street is the underground tunnel tour, which is definitely worth doing.

Lots of cracked bathroom tiles, stains on the carpet and walls. The ac unit in our room was spewing black dust, fuzz and ash all over the bed every day. It was bad and really needs to be cleaned!! That's kind of the issue with this place, everything needs a deep cleaning. Pool and spa- 8 stars. It was nice and we enjoyed the hot tub! Breakfast was exactly what you would expect for a hotel. The breakfast was nice and the area was clean. Noise level here was terrible and we found it difficult to sleep. I think it's due to the cheep/thin windows. We were kept awake all night by freeway noise. This place is RIGHT NEXT to a major freeway, so it's jake breaks all night long. And then you'll wake up to voices in the hall outside your room because there are gaps in the door frame letting in all the noise from the hallway. The noise level here is the main reason for the 2 star rating.

And this one didn't meet that standard. Beds: 0 I booked a bedroom with 2 queen beds. The beds are NOT queens. My kids sleep in queens beds at home and we know what queen size is. These are full/double beds! It was a VERY restless night!!! Breakfast: 2 Pancakes are good BUT the eggs tastes like cardboard. Hospitality of morning front desk lady: 0 Seriously, I very rarely see racists BUT this one is definitely one. She said good morning to about every other person except me (even though I greeted her first and she just flat stared at me like I'm some buffoon). I'm the only brown woman in the sea of white people. And don't get me wrong, I'm married to a white guy for 12 years and counting! I'm very rarely treated this way. Hospitality of the cleaning lady: 5 Very sweet, respectful, and someone that brings smiles to your face first thing in the morning! Isn't it amazing that as people rise up in ranks, the more of an idiot they become?! In the hospitality business, I think the cleaning lady should be on the front desk and this smug-faced front desk lady should be scrubbing the floors.
