I came at 9pm. And I'm parked doing what the paper on the door says to do, register online. This guy on a UTV came in a very rude and menacing way came to my truck asked me what I was doing. When I said I'm registering online he interrupted me and said to do what the papers on the door say and he will give me paperwork. He did not hear me. He was mean, rude and his body language depicted his tone. I am a female veteran trying to relax for the weekend with my daughter and this kind of attitude is least we need. read more

This is our first visit here and we weren't sure what to expect. We were eager to try it out because we would be right next to a brewery and could walk home if we had too much. The sites afford a covered picnic table and faux grass....green carpet, but it's better than dirt! The pull three sides are very easily maintained and accessible. Hook ups are easy and convenient. I would say the only downfall is the major road roughly 100 yards away but honestly not obtrusive. The staff was very friendly and accommodating upon check-in. Making reservations online was very easy and the sites were marked numerically in a manner for the dumbest idiot to know where they're supposed to go. This makes me happy. All in all, our visit was awesome and we will be back! read more

So much potential We choose this campground for a weekend getaway. Just somewhere to explore not far from home. I know from previous reviews not to expect an oasis but still at $40 a night I at least expect some effort into the campground. Negatives- eye appeal- weeds, dead limbs and several permanent living spots- camp amenities- completely uneven parking spots, very little foot access anywhere ( zero trails to water, no access to brewery, no sidewalks or trail to main roads and just poorly maintained. It definitely gives you more of a overnight rest area than a campground. Positives- the permanent structures are nice and very useful. Cute little playground. All pull through spots, beautiful scenery and easy access by vehicle to everything you could possibly need within 5 miles while giving you that AWAY feeling. I picked 3 stars because with very little effort it could be an amazing place. Not sure why it's just forsaken as moderate. We will not be back to this campground, the host was rude & shitty when he was not where he should have been for us to check in on time, bathrooms were filthy,had not been cleaned in a while and his own host sight was trashy. We were a group of 3 campers and even though we booked far enough ahead one of our group got moved. They would like you to think that the beautiful water in the picture is right there on the back row but its not like the actual picture on the site, don't be fooled. Oh and if you are tenting with no AC, the road noise will keep you up. read more

Was a fantastic site for a large group camp out! Bathrooms were clean as were the sites. Felt safe and the bust road wasn't an issue at all.

Great spot easy, economical and unique. Adobe type covers over the picnic tables, clean restrooms and a nice view of the Rio Grande. Casino and Brewery minutes away. Stayed overnight, easy no hassle. read more

This is a great place to stay if you're near Albuquerque. We called after business hours and got a really nice woman that helped us reserve a spot. Once we arrived, she came right out and took us to our campground. We had just bought an RV so she gave us a bunch of tips and also checked in on us later that evening. The campground was clean and not too close to the next spot, the view was really pretty and it was quiet. Each campsite has a shelter with a picnic table, A water spout and a grill (charcoal). They have free showers and restrooms close by, as well as a dumpster for garbage and a dumping station. We also saw a playground and access to a park and the Rio Grande River. If you have a RV they have a 30 and 50 amp hookup. It's walking distance to a gas station and an IHOP. Overall we really loved our stay and are looking forward to coming back! read more

Very friendly reception although we arrived without reservations and after hours. We got a beautiful site with a view of the Sandra Mountains and the Rio Grande. Restroom was clean and ADA-compliant. Campground host was very nice and suggested a great breakfast place. We enjoyed our stay and will be back! read more

Very helpful. Louise gave me great info about the surrounding area. They also take Passport America which is perfect! Beautiful view of the Rio Grande and mountains. Quiet even though it's close to 550. Very clean too. I've been in some funky sites and this is not one of them! You can walk to the Kuaua Pueblo museum. read more

I write this review as I lie in my tent at 1am wide awake from traffic noise. THIS IS NOT CAMPING. I repeat. Turn back now while you're ahead, unless you have kids, an RV, and/or don't care about nature and the dark, peaceful stillness of night. My parents told me we apparently camped here back in 1992 when I was a kid visiting for the Balloon Festival, so I had my boyfriend book it for us so I could reminisce, 25 years later. I REALLY wish we hadn't. I really tried to be open-minded after we arrived, but as another reviewer said, this is literally a parking lot in the middle of a small city with a river and a loud highway nearby. The tent sites are right on top of each other and they are placed right next to the bathrooms with obnoxiously bright motion-sensor lights going off and doors slamming at all hours of the night. There's not even any trees to provide privacy in the sites (let alone trees anywhere in this entire area.) The only good thing about the sites is that each one has a leveled out square space to place your tent. This is camping for convenience (which in my opinion, defeats the purpose of camping.) This is the first night of 2 nights that we pre-booked and I am honestly considering canceling the second night and moving elsewhere. There's no way in hell one could sleep here without ear plugs and an eye mask, which really sucks when you've driven 6 hours to get here and have a busy weekend of balloon festivities ahead. The only reason why I am giving this place 2 stars is because the host and campground manager have been friendly and helpful...and the sites are only $14 a night, which is a steal if you just need a place to park up for the night. Again, this is nowhere near the camping experience you will want if camping is an actual hobby of yours. read more

Good spots. Very scenic. Quiet (stayed mid-week). Near stuff: restaurants, casino, historical sites, plenty of gas stations, stores, fast food, and big-box stores close too. Easy access. Great shelters. Some decent shade (especially for this area). Sites are mostly level - although walking around I see a couple that are visibly off-level. Bathrooms clean. Nice playground. Showers functional. Staff was friendly. Good value. Regarding Others' complaints: I did not see anyone speeding around the campground, we didn't have trouble with power but also we only use 30A so I can't say I know about higher amp needs. There are some longer term campers here - doesn't look like full time residents but definitely folks spending more than a few weeks. Everyone was friendly and nothing was trashy or gross. read more

We stayed here two years ago and the campground was nicer then. It's a cute place and with some attention and tlc it would be really great. It's located right by (within walking distance) a large casino and a new brew pub. And right on the Rio Grande. Close to I25 and plenty of services around. It does need a light at the entrance. There's construction on 550 now and pulling in/out was tricky and dark. It's run by the city of Bernalillo so I'm not sure why they don't get a chainsaw and some small equipment over there to clean it up and remodel it. Dead trees where everywhere. The bathrooms are ok but old. In the women's room you have to "push the button six times for hot water" really!? We can't upgrade that? The site hadn't been cleaned so I swept and picked up someone else's cigarette butts. Overall an ok place that could be a better place with some sprucing up. read more

I have been traveling and staying at all kinds of different rv resorts throughout the United States the past, 2 years and this is the worst place of all. I was having trouble with my generator and Albuquerque, NM was the nearest large city. I setup an appointment to have the generator repaired. I checked into Coronado Village and told them I will be staying for two nights. I will disconnect after the first night and bring the rv to the Cummings dealer for repair. I will return after the repair and stay the second night. I was told I have to make reservations before 11 A.M. I had the rv at the Cummings dealer for my appointment at 8 A.M. We took or tow vehicle and went sight seeing. At 10.30 A.M. I was told my generator will need to be taken out of the motorhome to rebuild, it will take at least 5 days. I called Coronado Villate at 10:56 A.M. and made reservations for one week. At 11:40 A.M. Cummins called to tell me that it was a misdiagnosis and they found a loose wire causing my trouble. I called Coronado Village at 11:45 A.M. and wanted to cancel my reservation (less than an hour later) and they said they do not give refunds. I asked to talk to a manager and they said the manager will call me. Later that day I received a call and was told they will have to send the refund of $235.50 in the mail from the main office, Thesman Communities in Los Angeles, CA. It is going on two months and I have not received anything. I called them at leas twice and each time they keep saying give it two more weeks. I called Thesman Communities and they said the will look into and call me back. The bottom line is they have flat out lied to me. Saying it will be coming in the mail I paid $315.50 for two nights there. What a sorry excuse for a business. I belong to two different rv clubs and they have flagged this park as the lowest rating possible. read more

There are no campgrounds anywhere near Albuquerque besides this one. That being said, Coronado campground definitely makes up for it. Nice clean restrooms and showers. Conveniently located between Santa Fe and ABQ. The Ruins next door are cool to see as well as a few walking trails along the river. read more

This is a great campground. We arrived after hours and without a reservation, but were able to get a nice spot. All of the RV sites appeared to have covered picnic areas and small charcoal grills. There is also a nice playground for the kids. It is desert camping with a view of the Rio Grande. The single shower was a bit disappointing, but with RV camping, that isn't a big deal. Oh, and the price was amazing ($25 for 30amp with water). read more

In terms of value, comfort and scenic views, the Coronado Campground is one of the best I've ever visited. During a cross country trip from North Carolina to New Mexico, I stayed at the Coronado Campground. I'm a tent camper and was pleasantly surprised by the sites available to me. There are sturdy, concrete slab sites for tents along the northern edge of the campground. These sites have water and electric hook ups, making the stay all the more comfortable. The best part has to be the gorgeous view of the Sandia Mountains. I was able to capture some amazing sunset and sunrise photos. Watching the clouds pour over the Sandias in the morning was a glorious vision to behold. There was an adequate shower and restroom building within walking distance of the tent area -- nothing fancy, but it did the trick. Then again, if you're a tent camper like I am, you aren't looking for lush accommodations to begin with. And to think -- all this for only $14! I was very impressed and will be back the next time I'm in New Mexico. read more

We loved Coronado Campground. Each space has nice trees, and their own shelter with picnic table. Plus all sites are pull throughs. Rates are less than half of what the local competitors charge. There are no sewer hook ups, but we have a honey wagon so it was not an issue. Restrooms were cleaned daily, and inspected by staff several times a day. The proximity to shopping,restaurants,and the Santa Ana Casino is great. The casino will send a free shuttle over to pick you up. So if you don't want to unhook you can still go out to dinner. We will definitely stay here when in the area. $20 a night for a 30 amp pull through site. Weekly rate is $120 electric, water, and tax included. read more

On the positive side, there are nice shelters at each site, the paved pull throughs are level, there's a nice view of the mountains, and more trees than usually seen in a New Mexico RV park. On the negative side, there are only two shower stalls (1 men's, 1 women's) for the entire campground. The bathrooms are filthy and have been not cleaned in the past 5 days. The other major drawback is the constant traffic roar (day and night) from the nearby highway. This Campground does not approach the beauty and quiet of most New Mexico State Campgrounds. I will not stay at this campground again. read more

The reviews for this campground are interesting - apparently, you either love it or you hate it. I hated it. The site was essentially just a piece of a big parking lot. We were in a spot close to the bathrooms, and had people walking right next to our vehicle all night long. And the bathrooms...oh, the bathrooms. They did have a shower, but I wasn't about to step foot in it. I have been in rest area bathrooms that were cleaner. Yes, the river is right there, but so is a major road and a casino with an extremely large, extremely bright sign. Doesn't exactly make you feel like you're experiencing the great outdoors. We've been staying at a different campground every night for the past two weeks, and this was hands down the worst. read more

I did not have a good time here and due to this I feel it best to let others know, in hopes they do not get hurt or end up at the doctors. I had to check in with the camp host when I arrived, noon March 4th 2017 (no one was in the office) and when they saw me drive up and get down to talk to them their dog was not on a leash and he/she bit me! It was very painful and they didn't have any professionalism to check on the severity of the bite, they just took my info and money! I'm glad I had jeans on which helped protect me! What happen to me was dangerous and others can get hurt this is why I am sharing it with you all, so be careful if you go to this campground and have to get down to pay. One last thing to add is that the men's restroom had trash all over the floor when we got there! The urinal had paper towels in it and there was water all over the floor. I picked it up for the ladies who work there because I was afraid to go tell them because of their dog! So beware of dog if you decide to camp here! read more
