To say that I play pretty hard and don't think about the consequences is a bit of an understatement. I visited the ESI after a fairly bad injury to my right leg that had left me with some nerve damage - meaning I was having trouble actually using my foot to walk, which scared me pretty badly. After a bit of googling, I found ESI and sent them an email outlining what I had done and my symptoms - I am not a professional athlete and I had already had x-rays done at a medicentre claiming "nothing was broken," so I was nervous as to whether my case was actually legitimate or not. Low and behold, I was emailed back almost immediately by the admin staff, asking me to call in and make an appointment. They were able to find me an appointment within a few days of sending that email, which is an amazing feat for any doctor's office. I went in and saw Dr Gregg and he was a wonderful doctor - really understood that my active life is important to me and gave me the facts straight without being unfriendly. He was confident and knowledgeable and I walked out (well, hobbled out) feeling really great that I had found a solution to some of my injuries. He explained a lot of things about my feet and legs that no other doctor has taken the time to explain to me. I have also had the pleasure of seeing David, one of the individuals at the ESI who does orthotics making and fitting. Booking several appointments with him for the various fittings and consultation was very easy and he seemed to really love his trade and be genuinely concerned for my health. I have been wearing my orthotics for almost a month now and have seen severe improvements in my running stride and my pronation. It is scary how many injuries came out of those elements alone and how long it took for me to find a doctor in Edmonton who actually figured that out. The clinic itself is very nice and clean, and includes a large physiotherapy space on site. All orthotics are also made on site, which is nice to know. If you have any problems with muscle pain, injuries, mobility issues or foot pain, I definitely recommend calling and getting yourself in to see the doctors at the ESI. It's really great to find a medical centre that is going to get you the answers you need to be active and pain-free.

As he manipulates and moves the parts of my hand around, he explains why and what he is doing in each step. He is very knowledgeable and in the few months I've been going to him, my hand has gone from a 3 in pain and functioning (out of 10) to a 9. I accepted his recommendations of cupping and needling and was pleased with the result. He sends me away with exercises to continue the improvement on my hand, after first demonstrating them and supervising my practice movements. In my last visit he gave me a few more exercises, which he feels should help me bring my hand and forearm to full recovery. Nooman was personable and professional--I recommend him to anyone needing physiotherapy.

Not a huge fan of acupuncture (bad experiences before) but for some bewildering reason I respond really well to IMS treatment like dry needling (Like the old Buckleys commercial "it hurts, and it works") Most of the time I go for needles it basically fixes my muscle issues like the next day (unless it's really bad maybe another treatment or 2) Man I'd be so messed up without this as a last resort when chiropractic or massage attempts fail to bring relief (the cons of being hyper flexible lol...) Before I went in for my first visit, I called to inquire about their direct billing, and was told that both of my insurances were covered under it, and to bring them both. However, when I got there, I was then told that they would only direct bill for the primary insurance (which happened to be less coverage), and that I would have to go and do all the paperwork on my own to get my money for the secondary insurance. So I had no choice but to pay out of my own pocket for the majority of the bill, and now I am stuck trying to figure out on my own how to get the rest of my claim back. I am writing this review in case anyone is stuck in the same situation as myself, and choosing this practice because they claim to have full direct billing.

I called and they were able to book me the same day, which I was extremely happy about as I had to leave town for work. I was very impressed by Joseph, his demeanour and his ability to make me feel assured that I would heal in time. He listened to all of the the information leading up to the injury for two years and explained exactly what was wrong as I did think it was a torn meniscus, but it was actually my MCL I had torn this time. His thorough examination and plan for me made me happy and hopeful for my leg to heal properly and be good as new. Very grateful for the care here. I've been to Capilano Rehab Clinic three times now for a shoulder issue. I was referred by my…read moredoctor and I'm so happy I ended up with Christy as my physiotherapist. Not only is she funny, she plays a lot of 80s rock which I'm into. And one time she made her team sing along with her to Oh Caroline LOL. But the main thing that I loved about visiting this clinic is that she was able to identify my issue within a few minutes and set me up with exercises straight away to help fix the problem. The waiting area is cosy with lots of space for winter boots, you can see to the gym which is always busy with patients. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. There is a blackboard with funny quotes or a joke of the day to give you a giggle while you wait for your appointment. Christy's area is a nice room with 6 beds and curtains to separate them so you have a bit of privacy while you are there. She usually has three or four people in at a time and sets you up with heat or whatever treatment you need while she assesses the next. It's quite efficient! The room is clean and I like to get the spot with the painting of Jimmy Hendrix. Anyway better get back to those exercises....
