I called Cornucopia when I was looking for a caterer for my wedding since they are located in Bexley and I wanted to support a business in my own community. The individual who answered the phone first asked my budget before any other details other than my name, date and venue. No questions about buffet or served food, types of courses, cocktail reception, linen rental, etc. When I replied that I didn't have a budget, that we are more focused on quality and service for our special day, he pressed. He said "everyone has a price" but again didn't ask for any details of my wedding. I answered honestly and said we were only starting too look but the one quote we have received was for $8k. He laughed into the phone and told me he wasn't even going to quote because why would I pay more for my wedding (again, with 0 details) and they would be at least 14k. Again, I stated I didn't really have a budget and as a preferred caterer of our venue I would still like a quote. He told me they were too busy to even quote and maybe in 2 weeks they could send me one, which never happened. I have never been treated in such a poor way by a customer service representative over the phone and I honestly believe it has to do with either my long "foreign" last name or being a woman who deigns to do business. He had no other basis to turn me down so abruptly besides bias. I am only writing this review so hopefully the business owners can hear how potential customers willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars are treated and can resolve the issue. Ladies and immigrants, be warned! Your money is not welcome. read more
