It's really hard to tell from the photo that I took, but it is enormous and my husband said that usually pupusa are dry and this one was very moist probably because it was a birria type. I tried it too even though I do not like masa and I thought it was really good and fresh. The loaded steak fries were amazing. It had a generous portion of steak and it was marinated so it was flavorful and the portion was very big. We wanted to try more of the green sauce because it kind of gets lost in the chipotle sauce but overall very good. There was kind of a wait to get our order..we ordered from the iPad, but when we got the food, we realized why it takes a little bit longer and it is because it is made fresh and very well. And I think most of their stuff is gluten-free, which is perfect for my husband. We have seen their food trucks around, but have never tried it but now we will make sure it's a regular spot. Always reassuring when there are customers:) The red pozole was packed with shredded pork and hominy, served with cabbage, cilantro, onions, limes, hot corn tortillas, and little packages of dried chili & oregano. Often red pozole has giant pieces of meat that need to be cut, which is inconvenient when eating soup. I appreciated that the meat was mostly shredded with some manageable chunks, and very tender. The broth was rich and flavorful without condiments, and perfect once I added all the sides. I'm a fan of spicy soup so asked for extra chili and some salsa roja to give the pozole a kick. I liked the salsa a lot! I tasted the roasted chilis, tomato, and herbs so got some chips for dipping. A real treat that would be perfect on tacos, tamales, or any item. I chatted with the server a bit and learned that the owners have been making and selling tamales since 1985, in and around the Pomona area before opening this spot in Rancho.
