Really good parking and free. The shop drinks are really cheap, and you can taste before you but. The animals are obviously so well cared for and look so happy...!! The cafe is spacious, but expensive, and from what I saw on my wife's and others plate, need some cooking practice..!! Can't recommend eating here..!! Brilliant display of Austin-Healey cars, and an excellent visual display of the founder, Donald Healey....what an interesting man, and life he lead. You should visit just to see/read that...

Interesting little place. We came across it in our Cornwall guide and realised it was only a few…read moremiles from where we were staying. Chanelling the fruit farm vibe, there's even apple tree's in the court yard area. Healey's make the local cider found in many of the Cornish pubs, called Rattler. It is identifiable by the snake head taps and comes in original, pear and strawberry. You can do a full brewery tour (I didn't opt to do this), take tractor rides, watch a peacock strut around the decent sized car park (reverse carefully), see some cute rabbits, sample ciders and buy to take some home. You can even grab a drink in the court yard area and sit and watch the madness of tours coming and going Even to sample cider, it is free. Just say at the entrance that you are there to buy some products and they let you walk in. Head into the shop and there are all the different products - cider's, whisky, brandy, fruit wines, preserves, sweets, etc. Staff at the top bar will let you try whatever you wanted. The cider's were lovely but I wasn't a fan of the fruit wines. We didn't stay long - some sampling, purchasing and then a quick drink in the court yard but it is worth a wee visit if you are in the area. I believe Callestick, the local ice cream maker is based just down the track and you can do joint tours so something for adults and kids. Ps - the title is not a spelling mistake, it really is Healey's Cyder (not Cider) Farm...

We went to get…read moresome raw honey , which we couldnt find anywhere else and bought four jars of locally produced and raw. Lovely, kind people and lots of wholesome goods. We are only visiting but will be sure to return when we visit Cornwall again.

They sell a lot of their own and locally grown…read moreproduce, mostly organic and at very reasonable prices, sometimes matching or beating supermarkets but much nicer. Apart from fruit and veg, they also sell dairy produce and locally sourced meat. They have a good selection of wholefoods such as pulses, rice, cous-cous etc. and have Fairtrade Organic Palestinian olive oil. You can also buy things like Ecover washing powder and loo roll. In addition there is a selection of delicious homemade bread. Since discovering this shop which is bigger inside than it looks from the road, I have almost stopped relying on supermarkets. Tim, the owner and Rachel who works there most days are friendly and helpful and always make a visit there a pleasant experience. There is absolutely nothing pretentious or superficial about this place, it is good ,wholesome food at affordable prices for those that care about what they eat and what its effect is on our environment is.

Staff were friendly, and they offer online purchases and deliveries too. Considering its a farm shop and the 'middle man' is supposed to have been cut out, some of the prices were steep. Not all produce was fresh- the runner beans were slightly brown and bendy and there were withering potatoes. Majority was lovely though.

The staff is pasionate and knowledgeable. Great selection of wine, beer, spirits, etc. They are constantly evolving their selection of around 800 wines to choose. They have a couple of tables inside and oustide, where you can sit and taste and choose. Outside there is a customer car park and they also run a delivery service throughout Cornwall and also can arrange a next day courier for the rest of the country.

English beach at Its best…read more Situated in the shadow of the iconic Tate St Ives gallery, Porthmeor is a sandy, safe beach, popular with surfers and swimmers alike. It's in an ideal location just a stone's throw from the centre of St Ives, where you'll find ancient pubs, trendy cafes and lots of art galleries the town is famous for. A perfect place for a beach picnic - you can easily get all you need from the town, the beach is busy in summer with families who enjoy the easy access, and in winter the surf brigade from the town have all those rollers right on their doorstep. Porthmeor is one of only eight beaches in Cornwall that hold the prestigious Blue Flag Award 2021, given in recognition of water quality, safety, environmental management and education. Lifeguard cover from Easter until the end of October (2021). Parking - the car parks in St Ives get full very early in main season, and the large car park at the top of town can bit a hike back up. Why not try parking at St Erth station or Lelant Saltings and enjoy the scenic branch line into the heart of St Ives. Please note: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 15th May and 30 September (10am - 6pm) when a seasonal dog ban is in place (2020).

We only had to wait a few minutes at the car park just up the hill, and we were seated almost immediately, though we were told that the kitchen was quite backed up (10am on the last Saturday in August, beautiful morning), so we'd need to wait about 10 minutes to order. No bother, we started with hot chocolate and a carrot-ginger juice (made in house). Drinks were great. Unfortunately, when we did get to order, we were told that they were out of pancakes. So both J and J ended up with poached eggs and toast. Jimmy got the side of chorizo. I got the scrambled eggs, cornish crab, crème fraiche, lemon and rocket. Though the kitchen was backed up, the food came decently quickly. My eggs were delightful and mixed quite well with all the other toppings. The views of the beach and surf school were entertaining, as were the menus with the clippings mentioning the historic shipwrecks and even the subsequent capsizing of a lifeboat during the rescue. It's a charming spot, but you'll need to get there early if you want pancakes.

Locals and visitors mingled easily and the bar had a fantastic range of beers, wines and spirits. The staff were friendly and inviting, and the Red Lion had numerous events including quizzes, steak nights (£10 for a steak/catch of the day + dessert) and supper evenings. This weeks was an Aussie Christmas in July! a seafood barbecue, unfortunately it was fully booked. Food wise, a good range of steaks, burgers and curries, as well as other interesting dishes like Randang Malaysian curry and catch of the day (Hake with a potato salad). Settling on an Italiano Burger, it arrived as is the fashion currently on a wooden board, with thin crispy fries, homemade coleslaw, parmesan dressed salad, to compliment the Aberdeen Angus Burger, which was topped with Parma Ham and green pesto. A superb meal, as was my wife's sausages with seasoned mash, in a rich onion gravy, with seasonal vegetables, as a side dish. A dessert is almost compulsory, again two cracking dishes strawberry creme brulee and a iced lemon tart, that tasted like a giant sherbert lemon! Finished with a good cup of strong coffee, this was a meal to remember! The Red Lion also serves takeaway curries and burgers, and had Doom Bar on draft, now that's my type of pub!

We were in Cornwall so obviously we needed a traditional Cornish pasty. Wondering around the marina…read morein St Ives we came across this little pasty shop which had a great selection of hot, fresh pasties. We got 4 large and 1 medium pasty and a load of drinks for under £20 which I thought was good value for money. They were packed full of big chunks of steak and veg and really ticked all the boxes. Place could do with a little more seating outside but the weather was fairly pleasant so we were able to sit on the beach.

I've only rated not stayed here, but my parents have and said its wonderful-however it comes at a price! I can't image most people could justify more than 3 nights, but worth it for a short luxury break:) Despite the smartness, the staff are relaxed and children are welcome:)
