Dr Carlson takes a very personal approach with her care, where she almost feels like a family member because she wants to know about how you feel and what you've been up to since she saw you last to ensure she can offer real advice that will apply to you, not a textbook stock response. She really listens when you're describing symptoms or ailments and takes notes in your chart as you converse. She offers options, never hesitates to suggests further testing yet doesn't order unnecessary labs or tests either. If your schedule is flexible, you can often get a same or next day appt. To give you an idea of how wonderful she is, I drive 30+ miles to see her and there are plenty of options much closer to home.

This was actually great by me. Very rude office staff and his nurse was quite difficult as well. They seem much more interested in collecting their fees rather than the well being of their patient. Upon meeting this so-called physician who claims to be an "expert" in diabetes, he proceeded to scream at me and put his finger in my face and tell me that not only was I too fat but that I will die of diabetes if I don't get it under control. What he didn't look at was the fact that my diabetes was in fact under control from my previous physician with medication and diet. He never even looked at any files that were sent, at first. He just tried his intimidating tactics that did not work on me because I let him know that in no way will I tolerate that behavior. Secondly, when he finally started looking at my files from my various physicians, and he saw the list of my many illnesses, he had the nerve to ask me, how do I know that I have these illnesses? Many of these illnesses, I might add, that I have had all my life, and also acquired from the illnesses that I have had all my life, called secondary congenital illnesses. I have NEVER been asked that question in my whole life since going to all of the many doctors and specialists that I see and have seen. This so-called physician seemed to think that he is educated in every specialty and that he is always right. He is not even properly educated in what he claims to be. He is also not used to someone challenging him, such as myself. He likes to be in control instead of listening to what his patients needs are and working with them. He has no compassion for his patients. He barely even shows up to see them. He "pawns" them off on his physician's assistant when he finds one that can tolerate working for him. Several times throughout my short time as his patient he would mention that my A1c was high, but he never re-checked it. He also had me on B6 shots, claiming that it will suppress my appetite and they did nothing so I stopped them. This guy is rude and crude. He has been known several times to insult a person's body image, myself included and someone else I know that is also a former patient. Another incident I did not let him get away with. I have also seen him be very rude to his staff. The only nice people in the office. All he "cares" about is putting his patients on HIS diet plan that is not even a proper diet for diabetes or anyone. If you want proper care and an actual doctor then stay away from this guy.
