I know there short on staff as we were informed of that when ever we rang our bell ,but don't you think you need to hire more people. and figure out some how to keep them there.. The best part of the stay was the OT and the PT. they were 100% on top of there jobs..

But I had to rely on family for the upkeep and repairs of my home and I was having problems with falls so my family encouraged me to move into Juniper Manor. I am vary happy I listened to them. My apartment is very quiet unlike other apartments I lived in over the years (very important to me)! The other residents are very friendly but always respect my privacy. The maintenance crew is great and respond promptly to any requests for upkeep & repairs. The office Manager, Marsha, is great answering any questions or concerns I have. Overall I would encourage anyone in a similar situation to consider a move into Juniper Manor! Definitely deserves a Five Star Rating! My dog and I love it here! Allan & Smokey

My mother has been a resident for 4 years, at times theyre been short staffed but they raised the…read moreamount staff is paid by a lot and this seems to help, my mother doesn't complain as much about having to wait. The activity dept is wonderful, mostly because the director of activities is so devoted. Some nursing staff is good like Lily the day nurse, but for the most part the quality of care is good though can always use more CNA. Susan who works in the office is wonderful about helping with the financial part.

NIGHTMARE from Day One. The pics on their website are fake. Not at all how the place looks. They…read morelied & kept pressuring to admit family member as long-term care so they could immediately take control of the finances. They promised a private room but changed that once we got there. First 6 hours there, they didn't even offer to assist my 92 yr old Grandma to the bathroom after she came from a 5-week hospitalization. She fell twice the 1st day and had huge bruises on her arms and face the next day. They lost her $5,000 hearing aide and most all of her clothing in the first week. They ignored her dietary instructions and gave her meat although she is a vegetarian and didn't give her the protein shakes ordered by her physician. They soon strapped her in a wheelchair or left her in bed for hours on end, sitting in her own urine and feces all day. Every time we called, no one answered the phone. We would call several times in a row, several times daily. They told us that she would scream out in the night, which she had never done before at home or in the hospital. After the 1st week, she was nodding out when we came to visit. She told us they were giving her pills at night and told her "Now you'll sleep!" By Day 12, she had to be taken to the ER by ambulance (at our request) as she had gained nearly 20 pounds of fluid and was in congestive heart failure. They nearly killed her. I wouldn't let this facility care for my dog! My Grandma is now thriving and walking again after Rehab at a much better facility!

Staff really do go out of their way to help her out, which is much appreciated. Apparently they're a non-profit, and if you go there and run out of money, they do not kick you out, which is reassuring. They are right across the highway from Ithaca College (IC) and have a partnership with them where residents can go audit classes, and professors come over and do programs at Longview. Mom's in a writing group that she loves. There are lots of concerts at IC across a busy road if a resident can get over there. It's not really walkable. Seems like perhaps there could be a little better coordination though between IC and Longview to get residents who don't drive over to events they might enjoy. Mom reports some ongoing grumbling among residents about the dining room, but also says she's had some great meals from them recently as well, which she often requests delivered directly to her room. They are still using plenty of stock photos on their website showing imaginary happy old people drinking wine in places that are not actually Longview, so I do encourage them to continue to eliminate those photos in favor of pictures that are actually Longview. Because it's actually quite an attractive setting in a woodland with a nice walking trail around the whole facility. I'm pleased to update my review to 5 stars and would say yes, you should definitely go check them out.

This place is ridiculous, when you come through the emergency doors of a hospital u expect to be…read moretalking to someone to in maybe 2 minutes. We were 2nd in line and we stood there for 12 mins because the person in front of us complained about having a temperature of 100°. Oh and let me stop you before you get the wrong idea. That was it nothing else she looked fine. It took us only 2 minutes before she told us to go to the waiting room. The wait for us to get a room wasn't too bad. But the room and the service is something I wouldn't push on the Devil himself. After they had my mom put on the gown she asked for a 2nd blanket. After 45 minutes of waiting I went to the desk to ask for one. All I got was a snarky remark about her forgetting about it, though this time we actually got one. Though that came with another snarky remark as if to say it was our fault for it. Still it matters not, because it would take another 40 minutes or so for them to take a couple more of her vitals from the nurse practitioner.

This was quite a stretch for me and a tough financial decision as I still ended up paying close to 3000 out of pocket. I had been looking forward to receiving this surgery for almost a decade. The staff was very polite and very accomodating HOWEVER about a week after dealing with a face full of blood (a side effect I had been warned about during the healing process) I noticed that I still was unable to breathe properly. I consulted with my doctor and informed him that my septum also still felt deviated, possibly even more so than before. That's when I was told that I had not had it straightened but instead had my turbinates trimmed to reduce swelling in my sinuses. Great. But that's not what I paid essentially almost 8,000.00 for. That's the equivalent of paying for your lawn to be mowed and receiving a hedge trimming and still being charged for it. It's essentially theft in my opinion but I'm sure the medical team and possibly the legal system would disagree. Unfortunately I'm left with severe brain freeze when eating chilled foods, recurring allergy symptoms that I thought had been left in my teen years, and reappearing instances of sleep apnea which I also thought were a thing of the past. This is only the second review I've ever written in my entire life and I only do so when I feel that me not writing one might be a detriment to someone elses well-being or safety. I would love to be reevaluated and possibly have the surgery I paid for actually done but I doubt that will happen. Dylan
