Then second appt was only one for that week. Need to be seen regularly for any benefits. Then they were trying to bill me my copay twice. Same thing that happened to me previously that took months to straighten out. Cancelled all appts and am able to get in elsewhere in two weeks. Poorly run!

I made an appointment with Guthrie Endocrinology where I was told I couldn't get into an endocrinologist for 9 months and advised I get counseling in the interim. I was referred to Healthworks. I sat down with a consular who gave me some tips on how to lose weight and change my diet. The initial session was 1 hour long with the latter 15 minutes showing me recipes etc. The subsequent 2nd visit was going over everything I did wrong since I lost a whole 1/2 lb. This time running out of things to talk about, so just showing me websites. I realized I wasn't getting the help I needed and went to Southern PA for a more knowledgeable person, which I then lost 33 lbs. I then cancelled the rest of the visits. The problem is I was charged over $1200 for these 2 visits, which showed up in my eguthrie account. My insurer (BCBS) flagged these 2 visits and did not pay most of this, leaving me with the charges. Initial visit was $673.00 and second was $550.00. I am contending these visits are simply not worth this and excessively charged, and why did I need an hour for the visit? So look out, my insurer paid about ¼ of these charges. Lastly, the billing was done in an obscure way, listing this as therapy for an entirely different doctor. Never mentioning Healthworks nor counseling, nor the name of this counselor, opting to call it therapy with an endocrinologist.

There are only a few pepole that are very special and concerned about the quality the residents receive the others are just there for the paycheck. She was SEVERELY MALNOURISHED and completely disoriented. I heard a staff member refer to my mother by name once in three months. She was found by me and other family members in the most disgusting conditions you can imagine: 1. filthy dirty, in clothes she'd been in for days 2. bedding disgusting, covered with food (she was really sick and could not do much of anything) 3. in her own waste products which she was desperately trying to remove herself. She said "I feel like a person again" when she was changed by our caregiver, whom we hired to advocate for her. That person saved her life. 4. alone alone alone-- I read they spend fewer than 20 min a day per patient. They mostly seem to watch videos at the desk or stand around chatting. There is one very humane person here---the financial person. She is lovely. Otherwise? Good luck. You would do better to place your loved one in the middle of a public park and hope for the best. You can get a couples massage or do a single, I've done a couples massage even with a friend so we can chat for a little, but then we fell asleep anyways. The rooms are softly lit, the ambient music puts you at ease and then you start your massage with the best people. They are so so friendly and focus exactly where you want them to. Legit favorite part is when you're on your back and they do your neck and rub your head, ASLEEP. They work out the kinks, the knots, and answer your questions if you ask. They will keep conversation or just stay quiet and let you rest - whatever you want. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone interested in gifting or getting a massage. You won't be disappointed.

I have been going to Mark regularly for a couple years now and I'm never disappointed. I tend to hold my tension and stress in my shoulders, upper back and neck, and I always leave with my body and mind feeling relaxed, stress and tension free. Mark uses various styles and fluid movements, and applies the right amount of firm pressure where and when needed, plus his hand never leaves your body the entire time. Usually I find myself so relaxed I often teeter on the edge of wakefulness - which is a good thing. The facility is clean, the rooms are clean, and when I walk in the front door the smell is relaxing and calming. Since it's located on Market St, the parking can be a challenge at times, but I've thus far been successful in scoring a spot. Note: I recently went on vacation in Florida and treated myself to a massage which was....comical. The facility was beautiful and clean, but the massage was like a physical therapy session. She jerked and pulled my arms and legs around, twisted the back of my upper arms and then smashed them down on the table repeatedly, and then picked up and tossed my ankles back and forth between her hands. Ugh. I had all I could do not to burst out laughing. It was not the least bit relaxing or calming, except maybe the last 10-15 minutes where she actually used lotion and massaged my body. Although all I could concentrate on was the sound of her flips flops as she walked back and forth to the table to get more lotion.
