I am currently being held responsible for property issues (broken irrigation and a removed tree) that existed long before I moved in, despite providing photo evidence to the contrary. Communication has felt retaliatory; for example, I received a late-night hearing summons shortly after sharing my feedback online. Most concerning is the attempt to remove my personal landscaping without providing the proper written notice required by standard protocol. An HOA should serve and support its residents through fair, professional "best practices." I hope to see Mills Management shift toward a more customer-service-oriented approach that respects homeowners' rights and property. Furthermore, I was disappointed to receive a hearing notice at 9:30 PM immediately following a public review I posted. I am committed to a mutually beneficial relationship with the HOA and would prefer to resolve these misunderstandings through respectful, professional communication rather than escalation.

I was very motivated to rent the home, and even noted in my application I'd be willing to pay above the listed price. Well a full day goes by and I heard nothing so I called for a status update. The woman on the phone wasn't sure what the status was and said to call back the next day. So I waited and called the next day and spoke to another rep on the phone who seemed just as clueless. I emphasized that I had applied 48 hours ago and wanted to know what my application status was. He said he'd have someone call me back with an update. That evening no phone call, but a form email saying another tenant was signing a lease and I'd be notified if it falls through. I'm very certain I was the first to apply to this property, but they did not follow protocol of screening applications in the order of receipt. Then the lack of follow up and sounding completely clueless about the status of applications was extremely frustrating. I suppose I dodged a bullet not renting from Good Life. I feel bad for the property owner of the home as they would have gotten more in rent from me, and I was ready to sign the lease immediately. Good Life needs to learn better customer service support.

Unfortunately, I was not picked out of the other applicants and was not expecting to hear back from Giving Tree again. Instead, Sam Hahn personally called me to tell me about other apartments that were not yet listed on the website that were similar to the one I saw and offered to take me to view them. I viewed another apartment April 6th and viewed another April 13th. I LOVED the one I saw on the 13th, signed a lease just 4 days later, and moved in May 4th. Once again, I appreciated the extra care they took to find me a an apartment in North Park and were very prompt in returning emails/phone calls.
