I recently used these inspectors to inspect a home I was interested in purchasing. I'm going to list everything that was wrong with the home that Cornerstone cleared. Please my list of things they cleared the home on as reason to not use them. 1. Drains/plumbing etc. Bath tubs they were all clogged and do not drain. Aside from the bathroom tubs being clogged with hair, there were structural issues with the shower, which is causing rotting wood throughout the shower, tub, and bathroom flooring. The toilets leak water, O-rings do not seal, and clearly seem to not flush properly. The sink drains, all are leaking. Outside faucets, all leak and it seems they are leaking into the exterior walls of the house. 2. Windows-many are not sealed properly around the window frame. A few have broken tabs to keep the window closed. 3. Lights and wiring-the doorbell was cross-wired with the alarm system causing issues with the doorbell functioning. The doorbell wouldn't ring, and now when the doorbell rings it sets off all of the alarm system remote boxes. 4. Flooring/sub flooring-all unlevel. Clearly a foundation issue, which I had to pay for extra inspection under the home, which they cleared. 5. Gas water heater- it's leaking gas. They cleared it. Gas fireplace-doesn't function and not properly piped. They also cleared it. 6. Roof-small leak. He wouldn't go through the attic bc he state it was too small of an area for him to fit. He cleared it, yet it's leaking. 7. Miscellaneous items-the deck and fence should've been listed as rotten wood. He said it was safe. They're not. The inspector didn't list and of the following issues on the home inspection. The only thing he mentioned about the deck was for the seller to replace a board that I almost fell through. The items in 1-6, he made no mention of any issues and said they were clear to close.
