They don't really specialize in anything, hence the General Store moniker I guess, but it is a very shotgun approach to things for sale that they take. I didn't have any luck explaining i wanted a single sheet of 5/8 CDX and cut it in four 24" x 48" pieces. All I needed was one lumber person, but none were inside or outside. It was worth the drive to Kona. Home Depot had excellent service. A lumber man saw I was having difficulty loading a couple sheets onto the cart (I am weaker than a new born pup after battling Cancer for a year.). He cut them in no time at all.! The lower prices covered the cost of gas there and back. I hope they take this to heart and train their people better.

BJ and daughter Ana really stepped up to the plate and helped us define the exact scope of the project, the timeline and budget. The project was completed this week and the outcome is tremendous. The bathrooms are beautiful and modern. The new ceramic tile really gives life to the formerly drab floors. The whole experience was remarkably smooth and easy considering the distance. Looking forward to working with BJ and his crew in several months when we repaint the entire interior. BJ is very professional and meticulous in his work. They transformed our 35-year-old white melamine and Formica kitchen to sleek, flat-panel wood cabinets, new granite countertops (our choice), all new appliances, and porcelain coated cast iron sinks. They did such a quick job of it, it was amazing. There was nothing they couldn't do; they didn't need to sub-contract anything. They were able to troubleshoot every problem that came along, and resolve it without fuss. They kept us informed daily. Communication was excellent. Clean-up was complete. The team was good humored, highly skilled, and sensitive to our need for privacy -- we were present for the entire project. Highly recommend this group for renovations, both minor and major. The biggest bonus? The cost was very reasonable.

Can't believe I'm the first to review Mike and his company. WHY? He is the nicest, most…read moreaccommodating, and trusting contractor that we were blessed to have met and worked with. Especially considering that we live on Oahu and he on the Big Island. So finding someone we could trust to do what they say they'll do in the timeframe promised was a risky proposition on our part. But Mike won me over from the get go with his honest assessment of the repairs that needed to be done and the cost he quoted. He wasnt cheap but he was competitive and mostly he was very patient with my aging parents who kept asking him to cut out this and that to bring the price down. I loved how Mike looked for ways to belp us reduce our cost where he could but then stayed true to fixes that was important and necessary. He was also very good with sending us weekly photos to show us the progress of the job and when we could fly over to check on the work he always made himself available to meet us to go over the details of the work. Our family was very happy with his work and most especially of the "Aloha" professionalism he always showed us when discussing business. The house we owned was an investment property we had rented for years but it had been neglected too even though it was managed by a local property mgmt firm. Putting it mildly..the house was in poor condition with ALOT of work that needed to be done. Even the yard had been neglected but Mike helped us out by referring one of his workers who cleaned it up for us in one day and doing it in rain. In the end, we ended up selling the house in less than a year since Mike and his crew began the work. He did an awesome job. So easy to work with and so creative in his problem solving. Fair pricing and timely work...and again the most respectable and trusting contractor you'll find on the Waimea, Kohala and Waikoloa side of the Big Island. Highly recommended! Mahalo Mike!

We decided to break the work up in to 2 phases as the project had a natural stopping point and the unit is an active vacation rental in Kona Shores that we wanted to be available for several of our "regular" renters. Like other reviews have stated, we are extremely happy with the work Mike and his crew did for us. We give our full recommendation and will use him for our next project. To summarize some of the key points from our 2 experiences working with Mike, he is: - Highly organized and meticulous (provides very detailed timelines and itemized invoices. He also shares lots of pictures as work progresses) - A great communicator, who is responsive and timely (We've never had a contractor as responsive as Mike) - On time and budget - Does very high quality work - Brings good ideas when you hit unexpected challenges - Willing and happy to go the extra mile for you to see the job done right Please see the attached before and after photos of our project. Our goal was to finish prior to the baby coming and they exceeded our expectations and finished early. What can normally be a very stressful time, our renovation was a positive experience with a lot less stress than I anticipated. Attention to detail and a sincere motivation to do things the right way is how I would describe Igor and Vitali from Top Level Construction. A lot of the time these days you will hire a contractor or someone to do work around your house and they will do the minimum to make it work and usually cut a lot of corners. Igor and Vitali truly care about the level of their work and building things to last so there won't be issues in the future. An example of Vitali and Igor going above and beyond is when we decided to put 'Ohi'a posts in at the kitchen Island and they had to cut the countertop and tile around the uneven surface. It took a bit longer but the final product looks amazing! They even joked that they could install irrigation to water the trees if we wanted.. Igor could be a team lead/foreman himself as he showed so much skill as the understudy to Vitali. Whenever a challenge arose (which always happens in construction) they would always have great budget-friendly solutions to move the project forward. As the PM, Oleh, helped sort through everything with us as well. If we have future work that needs to be done on our house we won't look anywhere else. I genuinely would like to thank the Top Level team for everything!
