Possibly the least helpful sales associates I've ever come across. Not only that, but they became rude with me and one of them said to me with attitude "I'm not sure what your asking mamm." I rephrased my question three different ways before they directed me to one of the "larger stores" aka chapters indigo, when they could have called themselves if they were even the least bit helpful. I ended up calling Chapters at John and Richmond myself after leaving the store flustered and irritated, asking the EXACT same questions and had an answer in less than a minute. In conclusion the staff at this location (not all, but 2 out of ? ) are incompetent. I will never go back into this store again.

This massive location on Bloor is two stories and full of absolutely anything a book store could and should have. Books, magazines, clothing, pens, home goods, plushies, and did I mention the books part? This store is very clean, very well organized, and makes it very well known when a book is put out by a Canadian author with a big sticker right on the cover to let you know, and I sure do love supporting other Canadians. Overall, this location is amazing and probably my favourite one. I ended up leaving with a sweatshirt, a poetry book for a friend, and two books my wife picked out. I very much look forward to coming back on my next trip back home!

I loved the big open feel and that there were employees around to ask questions. I had researched options for checking out a local bookstore and landed on this one as it was close to our hotel. I could have been in here for hours exploring but luckily brought my husband which saved us lots of money. Second Bind is a business that has prided itself on buying textbooks from anyone that has them…read more They are extremely honest and handle themselves very well. Their office can be a little difficult to locate as the building's main occupants are on the outside of this building, once you park and go up to the 2nd floor of the building, look around the corner and you'll fine this little gem. After coming back from university and spending thousands of dollars on textbooks, it's actually difficult to find something to do with them. All I had to do for Second Bind was e-mail them with the ISBN numbers of all my textbooks, not even from the last four years of university, but from back in high school as well. Once they received the ISBN numbers, within a number of days, they e-mailed back the prices associated with each of the textbooks that they'd be willing to buy back. You go to the store, (and I believe they now have a free shipping option), I gave them the textbooks, they wrote me a cheque and I had money in the bank! I'm seriously truly impressed with how these individuals have operated, how hassle free it is, how they buy the textbooks back at a reasonable rate. Far better than selling it back to the universities for a nickle or throwing them out, give Second Bind a try. They make the community better with what they do, they not only help you out but they help others out as well.

The store itself was just amazing, dorky, magical vibes all around. What I really loved was the fact that one of the store workers or owner would make little mini reviews and stick it on the shelves near the book. They were so enjoyable to read and gave me some good recommendations for books. They also have $5 mystery book bags in the back. I definitely just love the fact that this is a bookstore dedicated to fantasy and sci-fi and you can tell that the owners genuinely love reading these kinds of books. It also looks like they host lots of book related events for the community.

It's the oldest surviving specialty bookstore of its kind in North America, and even though it has moved fairly regularly over the past decade (it's about to move to its fourth location, but hopefully this is for good) it's carried that history with it. You can find a great selection of books there, both prose and graphic novels, as well as a selection of used books and magazines. They carry both origina works as well as large selections of media tie in novels. The staff there are acutely aware of what is published, and if you can tell them what you enjoyed they'll be able to point you at something else that'll be to your liking. The teacher did not provide any of the author's names. The kindly proprietor listened to the name of the book, then he rhymes off the author and looked together with us in the right place in this adorable crammed to the brim shop. We found most of what we wanted at a fraction of the cost of new. Some of the books were adorably aged. We will definitely return at a later date. Amazing service, great shop.

It is great if you are looking for some popular old novels, like a whole series of Stephen King books, or Black Daggers Brotherhood. I bought a few paperback at $4 each. I am told they will take your used books and give credits. They only accept paperback as hardcover takes up too much space. I can understand that. I plan to bypass hardcover novels from now on, so my collection has resale value.
