Corner Tree Cafe is a lovely little vegetarian restaurant found in Jupiter street. I'd often pass by and get drawn to the sign and the look of the restaurant with the big tree beside it adorned with pretty lanterns. I'd also often see foreigners or backpackers go in in the mornings so it definitely caught more of my attention. It was probably a pretty good vegetarian restaurant if foreigners were flocking to it and I guessed right. :) The first time I ate there was a blow out for my birthday dinner last year. I love Corner Tree Cafe at night! The ambiance is calming, chill and sweet. The dim, candlelit lighting makes for a perfect romantic or mysterious mood and also a perfect bonding moment for friends and dates or a nice place to do some laptop work. Some of the dishes I've tried and loved are the Greek spinach filo triangles, Arroz a la Cubana, spinach & mushroom lasagna and my absolute favorite, the grilled asparagus panini! The balance of flavors is so good and the pairing of the bread and cheese with the asparagus is ace in my book. The salted caramel chocolate torte is simply sinful and I also enjoyed their organic lemongrass ice tea. They also have Pinoy dishes and dishes of the day so you can try those as well. The pricing is a bit high which you'd expect of organic food, but for me, it was totally worth it. If you're going there for dinner, it's probably best to call for a reservation (as I have in the past) as the restaurant is small and the place is usually packed. Healthy, chemical-free & delicious food is definitely a plus. The food is so tasty that you wouldn't miss the meat!

Eating out is always fun. Eating out at a place that feels as cozy and inviting as your grandmother's kitchen is even better! Corner Tree feels exactly like this, which makes each visit anticipated knowing there's a feast awaiting. The catch is, their menu is exclusively vegetarian. This is a good thing. Corner Tree was one of the first few restaurants we could count on when some of my family members needed to overhaul their diet for health reasons -- no easy feat for staunch meat eaters! With this in mind, we knew we had a winner when our carnivores requested a 2nd, 3rd, 4th trip back. Nestled along Jupiter St. in Makati, the small café takes pride in offering food choices that have their influences from different parts of the world. They have vegetarian versions of famous meat dishes; from burgers to a bowl of chili to a local serving of Kare-Kare, many diners are often surprised to learn that what they are eating is purely made from organic products. That's what made us come back for more, and would imagine fellow diners feel the same way. The homey atmosphere makes it feel like everyone's own little secret and an essential food destination for both vegans and non-vegans alike.

Corner Tree Cafe you do not disappoint. I am finally writing a review to share snippets from the multiple wonderful experiences I've had at this restaurant. The menu contains a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. There is also a GIGANTIC blackboard of featured dishes and desserts that are inspired by current world events. The service staff is friendly and you get just the right amount of attention from them. Questions regarding items on the standard menu are answered without having to consult the kitchen. Suggestions are readily given but scripted specials are not. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. It's like being in a friend's well put together living room. There is a little nook with a sitting area at the entrance to Corner Tree. There are magazines and an announcement board to entertain you while you wait for a table or have a cup of coffee. Of course the tables by the windows are the best seats in the house and you may have to wait since those fill up fast. The Teriyaki Tofu and Asparagus Bowl is the best! Wild rice with lots of tofu and asparagus topped with Teriyaki sauce and sesame. You just can't go wrong with that combination. The Sweet Potato Fries with Vegan Mayonnaise were delicious. Ask for the fries extra crispy. You're welcome. You may also want to let the waiter know that you want the dishes to be served as they become ready. Unless you want them served all at once. Or you want the courses served in order. Just let them know your preference and they will accommodate you. Book a reservation if you are planning to eat there on a weekend or close to peak hours. I also noticed that they started doing To-Go orders through Food Panda. I guess even more people are going to be able to enjoy Corner Tree Cafe's great food.

A great vegan option in Makati...Corner Tree Cafe has an extensive menu and most items are yummy, especially the desserts like the Banofee pie!

I'm always excited to try out new vegetarian restaurants and have high hopes that the food will be tasty and flavorful, but often times this isn't the case. Located on Jupiter Street with an entrance that doesn't face the street head on, you can easily miss this place. That would be a grave mistake. It's a quaint little place, almost like a cottage. There are a few tables so you almost feel like you're dining at someone's home and the staff make you feel that way. This place has such a wide variety of items to choose from with dishes from Asia to Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. There are vegan options, gluten free options and plain old vegetarian options. Everything I've ever had here has been fabulous. I especially like the Arroz A La Cubana, red rice mixed with tomatoes, olives, tofu, fried bananas and raisins. It sounds a bit weird and simple, but I assure you it's worth trying. Don't forget to add an egg! The Bibimbap is delicious. I get it quite often because it fulfills my need for a bowl full of veggies, a bit of spice and fills me up. Save room for dessert because they are out of this world. The Banoffee blew my mind and the Salted Caramel Chocolate Torte is like eating creamy, soft Belgium chocolate in every bite. To wash it all down, if you feel like a little more than Organic Lemongrass Tea, you can stay organic and get the Maeloc Organic Cider from Spain. Yum! Owner Chiqui Mabanta said her sister Giovanna gave her the best advice: "Make sure each dish is inspiring." With such a vast menu you would think this would be impossible, but I tell you, Chiqui is a master. Because the menu is so varied, I could eat here everyday. Lookout for the daily specials. You just might be lucky enough to get the lentil pate! What's not to like about this place?

A hidden gem concealed by the leaves of a massive tree that I assume is the namesake, this place is a veggie-friendly wonderland!! My favorite restaurant in the Philippines. As a vegetarian American expat, I have found that it is extremely difficult to find healthy food in Manila, but you can always count on Corner Tree Cafe to give you the delicious yet nutritious boost you need to take on the rest of your day! The premises are very clean, and the service is quick. I had the Tofu Walnut burger, which had a very filling savory "meaty" texture, and excellent accompanying sweet potato fries. They were so crispy and yummy you'd never be able to tell they weren't regular French fries. The vegetable dumplings are a favorite of mine as well, very supple exterior and great nourishing vegetable filling. The mellow sweetness of the jicama coupled with the tang of the vinegar dipping sauce made for a wonderful contrast, and very aesthetically pleasing presentation as well! The lemongrass tea is sweet and a great pick me up for getting your mornings started. I will definitely be making a return trip here!

Customer service was good, restaurant was cozy, and food was out of this world. I came today and saw they were in a new location. Initially felt "cool" but immediately was greeted with a cold demeanor. Half of our table are Filipino born and raised, while my sister and I are born in the US. I asked for bottled water and they had one bottle left. My dad (born in the Philippines), watched the lady who initially sat us down who mocked me for asking for bottled water. I had my back to the restaurant the entire time, so I didn't see a lot of the interaction, but my dad saw and understood it all. We ordered the sisig - undercooked. The pancit hab hab - underwhelming. They had no soda, and we all (9) had to share 1 big bottle of water. Ok, fine, no troubles. Then, they ran out of plenty of entrees, so we were limited on what to order. My sister watched the staff spray the table while there were still items on it, while my dad watched and listened as the staff were gossiping about all the patrons (including us) in the restaurant. It was quite uncomfortable. Sorry not sorry, but this place is no longer it and the entire staff needs an entire overhaul of retraining if you want to salvage this place.

The vibe is brighter, more modern, with an open bar and a lively energy that works perfectly for a Friday night. Service was excellent. Gab, the head waiter/manager, was outstanding, attentive, engaging, and genuinely warm. He checked in often without being intrusive, and the rest of the team matched his level of service. Food was just as impressive. We started with the Bourke Salad, fresh, crisp, and flavorful plus foie gras served with caramelized onions and pickles. The combination was rich, balanced, and absolutely delicious. The Creekside Steak was the star, perfectly cooked to medium, served in a cast-iron skillet with gravy, lettuce, a potato, and a side of mustard that gave the steak a perfect punch. Dessert was their famous sticky toffee pudding, and yes, it's worth the hype, rich, indulgent, and unforgettable. Overall, Bondi & Bourke delivered exactly what I wanted: great food, fantastic service, and an atmosphere that feels both elevated and relaxed. I'll be back, and sooner this time.

The second menu we love is the Classic Australian Parma. This is a huge plate, good for two to three persons. Served with the side of salad. Worth noting is the very delicious salad dressing. It's a bit pricey at around 900 but it can fill up at least 3 people. Another one on the menu, though I don't think this is available anymore is their sausage penne. I think it was removed but we requested for it to be made and the chef obliged and i think that's nice. Great aesthetics. Minimalist design. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. We always do outdoors, even on a hot summer night. Servers are attentive, maybe because I've never seen the restaurant full. Serving is quick too!

I'd say get their quekiam (one of their specialties)--this erm..thing (I don't know, gluten or soy based mock meat?) is stuffed with savory veggies and mushrooms and comes with a spicy red sauce on the side. It's definitely not like the street kikiam which is made of god knows what! Super tasty appetizer... I was excited to try their veg sisig as it was one of their specialties, but I was a bit disappointed as the serving was quite small (at Php 170...) and while it was seasoned well and had a variety of mushrooms and minced tofu/soy/gluten (unsure...), I guess it lacked that creamy sauce that I loved when I used to eat the real pork sisig. It could use some veg mayo or some sauce to elevate it to a really satisfying sisig recreation. However, I should mention that it did come with crumbled chicharon (made of tofu skins) on top! Especially places like Juju Eats which not only serves salads and fruit juices, but DELICIOUS salads and fruit juices. In my experience, I've learned that "delicious" and "healthy" don't always go hand in hand. Thankfully, Juju Eats is here to prove that sometimes, it does. The whole vibe of Juju Eats is sort of like a giant salad bar. The food comes in stainless steel bowls, and you can choose whether you want your salad as a half order or a full order. If you're like me and can't get enough of all the veggies, I'd say definitely go for the full order (even if it's a little pricey, in my opinion) but the half-order is pretty filling too. The salads are definitely not of the "tasteless green stuff" variety, and you can choose from a menu or make a salad up yourself. They have everything from nacho salads to pasta salads to some special ones like the Roast Pumpkin which has bits of fruit and nut in them. You can even choose to have your salad wrapped in pita, if you want to eat your salad on-the-go. They also have a bunch of specially-made juices, if you wanna up the "healthy food" factor with a delicious fruity drink. Juju Eats is definitely the place to go if you're a health nut looking for a fix, or a veggie hater waiting to be converted.

I visited their Paseo de Roxas branch for dinner on a Tuesday night, and there were only a few tables occupied, perhaps because most have their Juju meals delivered our for take-away? Anyway, no queues and waiting for a vacant table, the place was well-lit and the interiors were so modern and vibrant without being intimidating, so this was a very pleasant experience for me. The freedom to customize your food at Juju Eats is just plesantly overwhelming. Their salads can be ordered Regular- or Half-size, or as wraps. Or if you're feeling a bit more adventurous, you can practically make your own salad from among their MANY fresh ingredients you'll see at the counter. Since it's my first time, I went with my friend's recommendation, the Big Boy Wrap--romaine, grilled chicken, bacon, hard boiled egg, sun dried tomato, grated cheddar, red kidney beans, and french dressing in a wrap of regular dough (the alternative option is whole wheat dough). It was one of the more appealing choices for me because there was meat in it, unlike the other choices that contained mostly veggies, fruit, or cheese. And the flavor didn't disappoint at all. The ingredients were obviously fresh and went well together in one bite, just like a good, hearty salad, minus the overpowering dressing. They put their EVOO and vinaigrette as free-flowing condiments you can have on the side, so I tried them and they made each bite even better. My friend even put sriracha on his salad pasta. If there's anything I'm not jumping up and down about Juju Eats is the price. But then again, it's hard to find restaurants with really affordable guiltless offerings these days, especially in the Philippines. Also, don't expect to be filled especially if you have a usually big appetite (As a result, we walked to the nearby Jamba Juice stall at Eco Plaza, LOL.) Overall, I was happy with my first Juju Eats experience. In fact, I cannot wait to try every other thing in their menu, especially their salad pastas. I just don't think it's financially sustainable for me to buy from them everyday.
