I just wanted to take a moment to recognize the amazing team at Corner Bakery. Every time I come in, I'm greeted so warmly and genuinely--it always makes me feel welcome. The staff is incredibly thoughtful and consistently goes out of their way to acknowledge everyone, even when there's a line. I work in the mall, so I see firsthand how busy things can get, but they never miss a beat. They maintain great customer connections while keeping the restaurant clean, making delicious food and running the restaurant smoothly. It's clear they truly care about both their work and their customers, and it does not go unnoticed. Thank you for always creating such a positive and inviting experience! Thank you Sarah, David, Nallely, Esperanza, Winden, and more for being available and going out of your way. read more

Never had breakfast at Corner. The staff was friendly and willing to assist. The service was quick and the food was prepared correctly. The wraps were delicious and tasty plus the extra salsa was yummy. The store had a few people dining in rather a Han take out. The store was quiet with plenty of space to sit. This was a quick snack before shopping at Westfield. read more

Received an email that today is National Croissant day. I headed over to get a chicken croissant sandwich and a chocolate croissant for late lunch. Overall the place was tidy and looked nice. There was a little line but the service was good. I ordered mine to go because I didn't want to get stuck in rush hour traffic. This was my first time trying both. The sandwich was good but the croissant was different and not what I was expecting. I don't see myself ordering it again. I really liked the chocolate croissant with the creamy chocolate center. I love this cafe! Service is great. Cafe is clean and I enjoy the French ambiance. I rolled in about 7pm on a Friday night. I ordered the Pick 2 for no charge as a member of their club. It was my anniversary gift. The Cesar salad was crisp and delicious and was my side (much better than a bag of chips). It has plenty of shredded Parmesan! Pasta noodle corkscrew shape is fun and the sauce is light but plentiful. I tried the new chicken chile panini-chef's kiss. I would order the same exact meal again and again! It was ready in about 6 minutes and I took it to go! read more

I do not recommend getting the sandwiches for the price point of $16. I got two halves: albacore tuna sandwich and tomato mozzarella. The albacore tuna sandwich was solid and the bread that it came with suited it very well. That said, it was a sad meal that I ate just to keep myself satiated. The only upside was the fruit salad since they were all really sweet. read more

Disgusting food - potatoes were undercooked still hard and not seasoned at all. The side of avocado they gave me was woeful and small, my bagel was under toasted, and my "cappuccino" was just sad. read more

This spot was good to try for their scramblers. The scrambled eggs were what you'd expect and the rest of the items taste like what you'd buy at the grocery store and make yourself. It's definitely a bit expensive for what it is. The chai latte is very sweet so if you don't like it too sweet I'd ask them to do less sugar. The staff is very nice and welcoming! Very nice spot for enjoying a quick breakfast. read more

Let me state for the record: Worst. Breakfast. Ever. This morning I was running some early errands that took me past the Westfield UTC shopping center, so I decided to stop at the Corner Bakery for breakfast.I ordered the All-American Scramble -- scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, and toast. Nothing fancy, just a classic, straightforward breakfast. What arrived was exactly what it sounds like (see accompanying photo): a pile of scrambled eggs, a couple of scoops of potatoes, two strips of bacon, and a single slice of toast. Very ordinary in appearance. It was anything but ordinary in execution. The eggs were cold to lukewarm and clumpy. Cutting into them required real effort -- they had fused into a rubbery mass. The flavor could only be described bland (with hints of sour). The potatoes were cold and hard, almost as if they had never seen a pan (definitely not frozen, just...neglected). Then came the bacon. I've never had a more disappointing encounter with one of the world's greatest meats. We've all experienced crisp, burnt, soggy, or perfectly done bacon -- but I'm guessing very few people have ever tasted anything quite like this. The two strips had the flavor and texture of pressboard -- the sad, flimsy cousin of cardboard. It was a tragic excuse for a meat product. And finally, the toast. Who among us didn't start their culinary journey by making toast as a kid? Easy, right? Apparently the team at this Corner Bakery has yet to master the toaster's complex mysteries. For a place with "Bakery" in the name, they should at least get bread right. If you've ever heard stories of people in desperate times making bread from sawdust, you'll have a pretty good idea of what this tasted like. (To be fair, I'm sure sawdust bread would have more flavor.) For context, I've worked in food service and hospitality, including a serious stint on breakfast shifts. When you know what you're doing, a solid plate of bacon, eggs, potatoes, and toast is not hard to execute. When you're not paying attention--or simply don't care about the guest--it's surprisingly easy to ruin. Honestly, I felt embarrassed for the team at this Corner Bakery. read more

I had tomato basil soup, and it was literally the worst I've ever had. I think they just opened a can of crushed tomatoes and poured it into the bowl. As for the grilled cheese sandwich, the picture is self-explanatory.... I'll never go back. Sorry! BTW, service and ambiance was good. Coffee was exceptionally fresh and professional barista. read more

My mom and I love this location and go each time we are at UTC. We love how fresh their soups and sandwiches are. But they always have an amazing selection of pastries. I appreciate their coffee assortment too, and they make it fresh which is worth waiting for. Overall the service is good, and there are plenty of tables to sit and eat, read or work. Parking is easy due to it being UTC! read more

Love the paninis, especially the pomodoro, and most of the salads and pastas are really decent for the price. But... I have to say something about the ciabatta bread they use for sandwiches. It's the single worst-tasting bread I think I've ever had - no joke. Please Corner Bakery bakers... throw out the recipe and start over. You're ruining some good chicken pesto and caprese sandwiches with that bread! read more

First time to this location on a pretty busy Saturday afternoon, the staff were all plesant and working quickly to keep the line down. There is plenty of seating inside and a patio wrapping around the outside as well, so even if they're busy they've got the space. Order: Choose two - half club (oven-roasted turkey, bacon, cheddar, tomato, mayonnaise, grilled sourdough) & mac n cheese, comes with a side of your choice chips/fruit/bread, I took the chips (bag of plain lays). Sandwich came hot, grill crispy, melted cheese and satisfying. The mac n cheese was good too, cavatappi noodles covered in cheese and breadcrumbs. A nice finish to a perfect weather Saturday. read more

Day old salad, day old bread, sandwich was average. I will not return. The best way to improve? Fresh food

Plastic food, it had a plastic taste. Tables were to crammed with eachother. The chicken sausage patty was still frozen from the middle and the pancakes were as flat as a paper. Not coming back again save your money. read more

I like three things at Corner Bakery: *Anaheim scrambler for breakfast *Lemon Bundt cake for dessert *Perfect coke that tickles the throat Amenities -Free wifi -2 outlets outside -spacious, booths have been removed What I absolutely do not appreciate is that I ordered a vanilla chai latte and was charged $1.09 for one pump of vanilla!! I didn't notice until I looked at the receipt hours later. And it was not even good. read more

We stopped by this morning since we hadn't had breakfast yet, and the photos of the food looked too good to pass up. Service was quick, staff was super friendly, and the food itself was tasty. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the espresso I was expecting a small strong shot but ended up with a big cup of some sweet coffee drink instead. Other than that, the place is really nice, quiet, and worth checking out. read more

3.5 My father wanted to walk around the mall but he got a little cold so we stopped by to get some soup and drinks. For our beverages we tried their featured drinks.. Dragon fruit lemonade and dragon fruit ice tea. I liked the tea version better because it wasn't overly sweet like the lemonade. We ordered the Chicken Orzo Soup with bread. It wasn't as hot as I would have liked it but it still was yummy. The piece of bread was plain from a baguette and it wasn't toasted or anything. That was disappointing. Anyway, it's a convenient restaurant at the UTC Mall. read more

My crispy beef was very underwhelming. Service was OK. Restaurant was clean. Salad trio was fair. Would not recommend.

I wasn't too impressed with the service here even it being my first visit to this location. The server basically had an attitude even though she was in the wrong. I loved though that this location has spacious space for you to eat inside. The food was great as expected, but that was about it. My boyfriend and I came in pretty early so the service was quick, while the atmosphere nice and relaxing. My boyfriend loved the croissant turkey sandwich! It was perfectly melty and cheesy. I love their iced americano coffee, it's my go-to (: Later, while at work, I noticed my necklace was missing so while on my lunch, I walked back to the Corner Bakery Cafe and asked the staff if they had found a necklace-- the kind man confirmed that it was mine because it had my name on it and returned it to me. I was so relieved and grateful! We will definitely be returning read more

Stopped in for a late lunch. My wife wanted the ham & turkey on a croissant. It exists on the web page, but does not exist at this location (?!) I had the chicken carbonara- good! But the atmosphere here was unpleasant. A family of 5 adults and 3 small children had settled in at two tables right in the middle of the restaurant. Nobody was eating. The adults were all nose-down in their phones. The 2 older kids were running amok- throwing toys, jumping on and off booth seats, playing their cartoons on iPad at full volume. The littlest girl, about 5 but in a diaper, was lifting her shirt over her head exposing herself. So much noise and chaos- and parents pretty much clueless. Later, just as we got up to leave (of course) the family went outside and stood talking, blocking the exit door - and now with a giant stroller and a newborn in it. We had to leave via the patio. An otherwise nice lunch spoiled by trashy, clueless people letting their kids run wild. Not management's fault, necessarily, but sure doesn't leave a positive impression about the clientele. read more

Horrible experience with catering manager. Tried to order but she wasn't really trying to sell it or ask questions to help me with my needs for my group size. Located in the UTC mall in LaJolla, this is a very nice Corner Bakery Cafe. I came here in the morning hour to get my favorite chocolate bundle cake and was not disappointed. I love the food here, but was bummed that my favorite Raisin crisp bread was not available. The service here needs some adjusting, but I do praise the cooks in the back for their fast turnaround. I've been coming to corner bakery cafe for years now, and now even more with all the additions to the UTC mall. My go to is the pick two, any half sandwich, soup, or pasta. Came in today for the first time and ordered a cup of soup. They call your name after you order and you go to the front and pick up your order. Well turns out there were two people with my name so someone had swooped my soup by the time I got up there to grab it. When I asked for it the guy was confused and told me the people I was with had grabbed it for me. I informed him I was not sitting with anyone who would have grabbed it as it was just my sister and I sitting at the table when they called my name. (note-maybe start checking peoples receipts when they grab the food!) Then he starts to ignore me and decides to keep making other people's drinks. I stand there for a few minutes thinking he is going to grab me a soup real quick but it doesnt look too good. Then I asked him if I should go sit back down and wait for it. He seemed so baffled at the fact I was still asking for the soup I ordered and didn't get lmao. Luckily the cashier overheard the whole incident and grabbed me a soup because clearly this guy was not going to do anything to fix the situation. Besides that bizarre occurrence, the place was clean and not too crowded. Menu had lots of variety. My sister liked her salad and my soup was not bad. read more

I like visiting bakeries when they open in the morning and breathe deep the aroma of fresh baked goodies. I arrived at Corner Bakery a bit before opening time. Peering through the window I didn't see anybody until a few minutes after 7am. I had a bad feeling as I entered. I did not smell anything baking. The air here was cold and dead like a tomb. I surveyed the bakery case and picked a bundt cake. I took a bite and found it hard. Not much flavor. Definitely stale. Examining the cross section I saw that the outer half inch was transforming into a yellow glob while the inside was still fluffy. I estimate the bundt cake had been sitting in the case for at least 2 days. I've had treats sit at home for a day and while the fresh flavor is gone you don't have this huge transformation in texture. Back when Corner Bakery was new right before closing time they would give away all the stuff in the bakery case and they would bake fresh the next day. It appears that is no longer the case. 2nd visit I tried a sugar cookie. Cookies was hard. Flavor had some sweetness and had some of the typical flavor you get from a sugar cookie. I could tell this cookie wasn't fresh but it had not turned stale yet. It appears Corner Bakery keeps their baked goods in the case till they sell. When I visited last year they had stale treats as well. https://www.hungryones.com/2020/05/corner-bakery/ Canele bakery 2 blocks away has the freshest baked goods in the area and I go there when I crave fresh baked treats. https://www.hungryones.com/2020/01/canele-bakery/ read more

Corner Bakery Cafe had advertised a coupon in the past that offered two entrees for $9.99. It essentially was a buy one, get one free type of deal after looking at the menu prices. This location at the Westfield UTC Mall was the closest one so I stopped by to pick up some food for dinner. They had a couple of dedicated spaces in the mall parking lot for to-go orders, but I didn't need to use either one. The setup inside was eerily similar to Boudin SF or Panera Bread. Their Power Greens & Grain Salad was a featured item so I selected that along with an order of Cavatappi Marinara. The salad was loaded with the following ingredients... sliced chicken, toasted chickpeas, whole grain farro, cucumbers, tomatoes, and a sliced hard boiled egg. The greens were a blend of kale, arugula, and spinach topped with a honey balsamic vinaigrette. Outside of the great value from the coupon, nothing much stood out from my experience. The food was average and comparable to its competitors. The service was solid for a take-out order, and nothing was messed up. The result was a three-star rating from me. read more

Excellent food and ambience. The noise level is medium level. Definitely would love to come here again.

Great service, a bit slow to take our order at first, but once they got around to it.. a very good experience. The food could have been better, eggs were a bit bland.. like really no flavor whatsoever. Salsa made it acceptable, but my kid didn't care for the food that wasn't drowning in syrup. Avocado wrap 4/5 Pancakes, Egg & Bacon 4/5 Cold Brew w/ Hazelnut 3.5/5 Ambiance & Decor 4.5/5 Value 4/5 Overall 4/5 I was happy enough... ordered, served and out the door within a 30min window which was what we needed. My question is why this high end mall has a Corner Bakery but no Panera Bread, does that mean Panera only for middle class and poor people? Besides they could have added one, since they had Panda Express at the food court hmm so why not. Anyway compare to their location in Mission Valley, they did a good job with the interior, nice looking, fresh, spacious and squeaky clean. The food could be another debate, some how I felt the portion was bigger, more food for the same price, food quality also improved according to my taste, especially the salad. read more

Ordered the chicken sausage breakfast burrito and it was wet and soggy because of the juice from the sausage. Recommend they get all the juice and grease out ( Pat it down) before wrapping it. It was also bland but came with salsa on side so that helped a bit. They had 4 choices of coffee and of course the one I wanted was out of coffee . The place was not busy so staff shouldn't have a problem periodically checking the urns and refilling. Husband had the croissant breakfast sandwich and enjoyed it and his coffee urns was full . Service was friendly and sandwiches can be seen cooked to order. read more

Why is it that this ubiquitous chain's baked goods all look delicious in the display, but whenever I try anything other than my go-to Lemon Bar, my reaction is always meh? Case in point - the Chocolate Baby Bundt Cake caught my eye the other day, but was not nearly as moist and chocolate-y as its appearance would seem to suggest. The Lemon Bar - I'm a sucker for the pucker :P - is really the only thing that keeps me coming back. Service at this particular location can be a bit indifferent at times, but it's conveniently situated at the corner (ba dum tss!) of the Westfield UTC mall and I'm usually just grabbing and going anyway.
