Upon walking into this business my eyes lit up. Clearly seeing I was not from this part of the world the man behind the counter welcomed me with open arms and gave me a tour/explanation of what they carried. We joked about Southern California with him saying how many of these would burn down the state and he totally grasped why these fun things are illegal where I am from. After a friendly and hilarious conversation and tour I purchased a beginner firework and was on my way. Unlike the only other review, where I did see some MAGA goods there was nothing that desecrated the American flag nor signs that said Democrats were not welcome. We came back the next day for more fireworks and that's when I discovered this place has a rad deal. If you check in you get the 3 for $25 deal for free. I cashed in while buying another 3 for $25 deal and we had a literal blast on our last night in Wisconsin. Thank you again Freedom Fireworks for your generosity and the excitement you brought this liberal democrat from California who found himself in your wonderful small Wisconsin town. If I ever return to Alpine Valley, I will indeed return to Freedom Fireworks.

Fair disclosure: We live within walking distance of this park, so our review is probably biased. The place is just plain cool. Large structures with almost any type of climbing, sliding, or running doodad you can think of. The build is solid, and it is incredibly well maintained. The surrounding ball fields are just as nice. Fenced in to keep the local canines from stealing your balls, and ample parking for large events like Rugby or Soccer tournaments. This is also where the town has their annual Fireman's Festival put on by the local fire department. The festival has been struggling the last years but they just recently took the time to revise the company providing the rides, and brought back the Fireworks so it is a ton better (a trend we hope they continue). The only thing lacking is access to public bathrooms. Unless there is an event going on, they are locked. I am sure it's for safety reasons, but it sucks if you have a need to lose some weight pretty quickly.... If you are in from out of town visiting family and have younger kids, this place is definitely worth taking a short jaunt to. If you don't live in or aren't visiting CG, I wouldn't say it's worth a dedicated drive unless you are attending an event.

Additionally, there is not as much to do. There are some trails, although they were cutting plants and working on some. The main attraction was the lagoon near the road. The city was working on gates from the lagoon with painted crosswalks. Given the minimal traffic past downtime, walking on the side of the road is safe enough. It connects to the Lake Geneva lake trail that goes through the backyards of nice houses. Calling it a beach state park is a bit of a stretch. Across the road from the entrance lays about 2 feet of sandy beach. The campsite does have RV options.

Nestled in between two local parks, there's amazing entertainment, events (don't miss the wife carry!!) rides and games for your little ones, and delicious food/drink! This year was exactly what I would come to expect from the monona community after the 2020 absence, amazing! The fireworks though, always incredible but this year was bar none! They spare no expense and make it an unforgettable experience and by far the best place to watch fireworks in the southern part of Wisconsin. I was lucky enough to be a vendor for the Art fair for the first time this year, as I've been dreaming of doing so since I was little. Such an amazing experience! The event coordinator was wonderful and very thorough with planning and checking in on all of us vendors to make sure we were ready to go and happy. Thanks Laurie! And thanks to volunteers and everyone who made this year spectacular! Only thing I wish was more abundant was hand washing stations, though I'm sure they're hard to get ahold of nowadays.

The city of Crystal Lake's biggest fest on the grounds of the Dole Mansion - 50,000 people come…read morethrough here. Parking can be limited but is in walking distance from many area homes. Basically its a festive carnival/local foods extravaganza, with beer and local area businesses supporting and operating the event. They feature live music, contests and weekend fireworks (July 3, 2011 this year). Very fun way to check out Crystal Lake.
