I always met MBA graduates and they were ambitious and intelligent. She writes her name in cursive and was empowered to read at the age of five. She has solid math skills and knows all the continents...This is but a taste of what she has learned. More importantly, she is empowered to learn. The classroom environment allows her to help guide her own growth while challenging her to work on skills that will help her in the future (including things like using a hammer and nails and taking space in a place like a "peace loft" when she needs to!). She hasn't just learned how to be a student: she has learned how to be a human being in her world and contribute to it. People constantly comment on how "mature" she is for her age. She has self-control, she's relatively independent, she shows empathy for others, she is endlessly curious and asks thoughtful questions, and she can talk rather deeply about her feelings - among a myriad of other notable qualities related to her time at Namaste. The teachers are incredible, and the progress reports are detailed depictions of our daughter in the classroom. The school also encourages family participation throughout the year, including a "bring an adult to school day" and "gardening day." It is a beautiful community. My husband and I often remark on how Namaste is one of the best decisions we made as parents. What an incredible gift to give her this foundation for the rest of her life.

We contacted them about two weeks before our wedding--the panicked point at which we realized we wanted to look good dancing our first dance as a married couple. (Note: I advise contacting them much, much sooner.) Thanks to their patience, good humor, and most of all, their SKILL in teaching the non-gifted the basics; we made it through our first dance very well. In fact, we actually got compliments from many of our guests on how well we danced. What I like most is that the spouse and I now have a new, social, active hobby the two of us can pursue together. There is no instruction at all. The so-called teachers they have usually have no formal education at all past high school. All these 'teachers' do is sit there and read books or ignore the students. Have to use the bathroom? Pray they see you jumping up and down before you mess yourself. 6 year old mis-behave and get stuck in the corner? Expect to stay they for hours since they completely forgot about you. Have any legitimate questions? "...because God wants...". Have any medical problems? "Your ear aches? Let me see, oop you have wax in there, I keep my wax under the kitchen sink.... now go sit back down quietly and do your work". This school should be shut down on the terms of child-endangerment and not being formally staffed.

The goal is for the students to master the information, as such if they do not make 80% then they have to review the material and retest. Classroom education that is lecture and test can leave students in the dust, but here the needs of the individual can be met without holding up a whole classroom. The school uses both ACE and AOP curricula which utilize either paper booklets or computer based lessons. The teachers are dedicated, experienced professionals that care deeply for the students and strive to instruct and encourage students daily. The school administrator has been with the school for four decades and the school has an excellent reputation in the community. If traditional education is not serving your child well, if you are concerned about the "extras" that are forced on children in the public school, if you value a Biblical Worldview then MCA will be worth your time to check out!
