My personal experience with Dr. Amy Harding was extremely disappointing after being so hopeful. The receptionist that scheduled my appointment said that even though you don't see patients, all providers work together to solve complex patient situations. My appointment with Amy was shorter than told and she was extremely dismissive and told me to buy a book and read it and join a facebook support group. No treatment plan, no critical thinking about my symptoms and how I feel super ill every day. Hundreds of dollars wasted and for a practice that's supposed to have a high success rate (your receptionist told me 80%). When I asked if I could see another provider to get a second opinion I was told changing providers was not allowed and I had to stick with Amy. Expect now all of a sudden she knew exactly what I had and I have to purchase a treatment plan and spend thousand dollars to buy a bundle deal as opposed to buying for each visit like I was previously told. Seems like this place is run more like a big business scam and not a not a compassionate healthcare facility that wants to heal patients so they don't have to continue coming back and spending money. I am a loyal patient as he is a loyal Dr. He is calming, honest, doesn't claim to know everything. He will refer to a specialist if need be to find out the diagnosis. He is a Dr but also a detective in seeking answers to help in diagnosing whatever is ailing his patient. He really cares. His generation like mine is one of the last that we're taught to be respectful, humble, truthful, honest, caring, communicative. I am proactive also. I more than anyone know my body. I must communicate & research effectively so my Dr then can refer me to a specialist or possibly diagnose what is going on. Its teamwork always, or you may not get the answers you need. Dr Thurman is very popular. If he is taking a new client then you are blessed to have him as your primary care provider. I am very detailed in my communication which is helpful to all Dr's. Pharmacists know the most about types of medications, which one is the best for you, based on your medical conditions & all diagnosis. I must call my provider to see if they will cover some medications if I want to switch. Dr's are not pharmacists, they know medicine but not all brands of every kind. That research is my job with a pharmacist. Find a patient pharmacist. If you dont like an answer from your Dr be kind & tell him. Ask if there are any other options for you. Then call your provider to see if they will pay for what you want, or cover the cost of medicine, or treatments that may be needed. Communication takes two. Be Proactive. She is going against the code of ethics in both Washington state and the American Counseling Association. I have never been treated so poorly by a helping professional. Please do yourself a favor and do not book with her. Others with the agency may be good but I am so traumatized by this, I won't go near this agency. The support staff was helpful with filing a formal complaint but I am literally dealing with a traumatic aftermath of a practitioner who took a story and twisted it into one where faulty assumptions landed on others. She even tried to get me to believe in something that hadn't happened. False memory is a real event that where someone is recalling something that was suggested- and I left with her questioning deeply in an inciminating way which had not occurred. I went in with anxiety- for her to say, "you will have even more anxiety after I talk with you," and, "I tell people what they don't want to hear,". I started to get the idea she would twist my words and she did. This is awful, especially when you are trusted professional counselor. I don't think anyone should book with this very spiteful individual.
