On this trip I stopped into Washington Street Liquors in Corvallis. Oregon is a control state, so selections can sometimes be predictable, but this shop had a few bottles that definitely caught my eye. Prices were right around market, maybe slightly into secondary territory on a couple bottles, but nothing outrageous for something harder to find. What stood out most was the staff. Friendly, easy to talk with, and happy to share a little insight into the local bourbon scene. That kind of conversation is always appreciated when you are visiting from out of town and trying to figure out where the good hunting spots might be. The hunt paid off. I ended up walking out with a bottle of Frey Ranch Straight Bourbon, a solid pickup and one I had been hoping to find for a while. If you are in Corvallis and enjoy the bourbon hunt, this shop is worth a stop. You never know what might be sitting on the shelf waiting for you.

When pressed for what I was looking for, the man became insulting and told me he doesn't sell "cutesy" wine; that I was looking for "supermarket" wine, that wines with interesting labels didn't have anything good inside the bottle. Now, I *did* find a bottle that was fitting, and I *did* purchase it, but I will never step foot in that store again--which is unfortunate because I'm a wine drinker who isn't afraid to spend good $$$ on a bottle.

And was nothing but excited to be on vacation and get a bottle of bourbon. I was in such a positive mood in fact that I complimented the employee that served me on his shirt, cause it was a Pendleton whiskey, shirt, and I had Pendleton bourbon. I was just being positive and polite and for whatever reason this guy had a power trip on me. I did nothing wrong. I wasn't aggressive. I wasn't disruptive to this workplace. I was just trying to buy myself a well earned bottle of bourbon to enjoy my vacation and this guy ruined my night. It seemed as if he was discriminating against me because I literally did nothing wrong. My ID is valid one of the new ones . I wasn't stumbling in there or not loud. All I did was smile and stick to Myself , and I got refused service for it, and when I asked for the manager, he took his glasses off and said oh I'm the manager I'm still not serving you. In fact he refused to serve me off of the one soul reason that he could just refuse service if he wanted to. I proclaimed that I was sober and that I had just drove two hours and I come here all the time when I'm in town. I've never had this problem once... this guy at the top of his lungs, made a huge scene in front of everybody and exclaimed that I exit the store immediately and he would not serve me. He didn't feel comfortable serving me he said. But wouldn't give me a logical or reasonable reason. I don't know if my positivity or good vibes rubbed him the wrong way or but this guy was horrible, and even the employee on the side was backing him up and yelling at me too to leave when I did nothing but just try to buy some alcohol and was even nice to Him at first. I regret even trying to be a nice guy to Him. In the moral of the story , I went back in the store after that because I was so upset. And I just wanted to give him some customer feedback and let him know. I would never be returning to the store and that would be writing a poor review and this guy said " good I don't give a shit all of the one star reviews on this place are about me anyways". He got really loud and aggressive, and got in my face and pretty much backed me out of the store. He also aggressively shoved the shopping carts in front of me acting like he was gonna put his hands on me or something and when I told him that I had him on camera just to make him feel or think something about himself or actions.
