I'm writing this review on behalf of my 82 year old mother. I'll keep this brief. The woman helping my mother today didn't have a name tag. From the very beginning her attitude indicated she didn't want to help my mother order her diabetic shoes. She tried to say my mother didn't remember what she was told by Mike last year when she ordered her shoes. My mother is elderly, not stupid. Seeing my mother upset infuriates me. The woman stopped helping my mother without saying a word. She started helping a woman whose business she wanted. My mother finally left, and she'll never return, which I suspect is what the associates at this store want. May you all have the day you deserve. read more

Needed a seam stitched in a golf shoe and expected to drop off. Was pleasantly surprised they offered to fix it while I waited! It was only after being treated horribly at another shoe repair shop in Portage did I start looking for another repair shop. They will value your business, and price your repair fairly, and not because of your zip code! I have been a Corey's customer for going on 8 years. They have always been extremely helpful, and very knowledgeable. Finding people that care about what they do is not easy, and I will continue to patronize the store until I no longer require shoes or they no longer exist. As a side note: a good shoe fitting takes time. Not to mention good service. Corey's is amazing at what they do. Give them the time to do it right for you and the other customers. Sometimes they do get really busy, and this can take time but you wouldn't go to a restaurant at dinner time and expext to be seated immediately. Same applies to a good shoe store. She was patient and went through a number of shoes before we found the right one which was very comfortable given my chronic foot swelling. Now it's easy to walk. They did a great job. After many many years of wearing horribly high heeled shoes with pointy toes, my feet were finally revolting. All summer long I could hardly walk without searing pain around my arch bone. At a regular dr's appointment, I mentioned my feet and she suggested I head to Corey's to get better shoes for many poor feet. I took her advise and stopped in there. The sales lady was very knowledgeable. I have horrible bunions & flat feet. Talk about a mess. She measured my feet and said I wear a size 7. What?!? I've always thought I was a perfect 6 1/2 - no wonder my feet hurt since I was wearing the wrong size. She highly recommended the Naot shoes. I tried a pair on and felt like I was walking on clouds. They were so comfortable and wide across the bunion area. I bought 2 pairs and since that day my feet have not hurt. Happy feet make for a happy Pam. Very impressed with the customer service recently offered by "Missy" at Corey's Bootery. She was extremely helpful, answered the phone promptly, looked up the specific walking shoe I was looking for, and because they didn't have (my) size she immediately offered to order it. She went over the order thoroughly, and within THREE days I received a call that the shoes were in. I was amazed that the shoe came into the store so quickly (as other shoe outlets I tried never offered to order). I should add the reason for calling Corey's was because a "competitor" made the suggestion. Glad I did! "Missy" you found a way to get the ordering done -- and DONE WELL!!! Thank you for your help. I purchased a pair of hiking boots here for an upcoming trip. I wasn't quite sure what style of boot I was looking for, but the associate, Mike, was very helpful and suggested a few different styles and brands for me to try. I settled on a pair of Lowa boots that fit perfectly, and are extremely comfortable and supportive. I had a great experience here and enjoyed looking at all of the different styles they had to offer in all categories. I would definitely shop here again! read more

I was really disappointed for a few reasons. I came to Corey's with the expectation that my foot concerns and questions would be answered by staff familiar and educated with custom orthotics and/or the benefits of using other shoe brands with my foot/ankle problems. I wanted assistance you cannot get shopping for Dr. Scholl's at the local Walmart. This did not happen. Two very friendly staffers (one upstairs and one downstairs) did ask if I needed help, but it was clear they were not familiar with my foot conditions and they understandably left to help other patrons while I browsed the shoes. I selected a few pairs I wanted to try on and waited for staff to free up. And waited. And waited. Finally, I went up to the cash register and stood in line with hopes I could catch assistance there. When it was my turn, two staff persons (whom I had previously seen on the floor helping customers) asked how they could help and I told them I just wanted to try on said shoes. After a few awkward seconds of me feeling like they were playing psychic rock, paper, scissors -one staffer agreed to help. He was wearing a polo that had some kind of credential embroidered on it and I was elated at the prospect of finding quality footwear to support and perfectly fit my feet. I explained my food problems and the types of shoe I was interested in. He asked what size and I said I was unsure exactly (my foot size has decreased in the past two years). As he went in the back, I was positively salivating as I imagined first-class foot measuring with that nifty little metal contraption from childhood -the one that has all those sliding bits to accurately gauge your foot length and width. Yeah, there was none of that. As he returned from the back room with boxes of shoes that "should fit", he added "I'm going to hand you off to Kyle". I guess he was in a hurry? My winter feet are pretty hit, but damn! I left hopeless and empty-handed after an hour and 20 minutes in the store. For the record, Kyle knocked my rating up a star and was very friendly and helpful with finding shoes in the back. He put me in a balla pair of furry Birkenstock mules he insisted I try (by his enthusiasm, I'm sure he does this for all his customers) and they were pretty damn fantastic -although not the style for me. They will fit your with the right shoe for your specific feet which makes a world of difference in comfort and easing aches and pains. read more

I took a pair of boots in for some minor repair work on the soles. Corey's delivered beyond expectation. The work done was top notch. My boots literally look like new. I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of work. I honestly didn't know the repair would/could look like new. In addition the cost was surprisingly affordable- I should say ridiculously cheap. $10 to make the boots like new. I would have been happy spending more. And finally, the staff was helpful and enjoyable. I couldn't recommend this place higher for shoe repair. read more

I was worried it was the end of the road for my favorite pair of leather boots I bought on a special trip to Italy. The wires were coming out of adjustable piping/shaft of the boot and it was covered in dried salt from the unforgiving Michigan winters. I brought it in to Corey's and the next day got the call that the repairs were done. My boots look better than new. I couldn't be more thrilled. read more

Not a lot of choices in men's footwear but what they had were excellent. Prices were high but quality footwear was our choice. The man who waited on my husband was excellent in asking questions to figure out best shoes for needs. He measured feet too. We found a pair and hubby wanted brown and black so man gave us a discount for purchase of two pair. We took his business card as we are from out of area. They will ship. I was very disappointed when a pair of boots I got back did not receive the services I was quoted for. I needed a pair of boots to be fixed because the toe was separating from the bottom of the shoe. When I took them in, I was happy to hear that they would fix the toes, put new heels on the bottom, and repair a scuff for only $30. My fiance picked them up a few days later, and I was surprised to see that it looked like they only put a layer of shoe polish on and sloppily fixed the toe problem. There were obviously no new heels put on, and the scuff still looked horrible. My fiance took the boots back, and they gladly took them back to fix them. It did, however, take a very long time for them to fix them. read more

This was the worst experience I have EVER had when it comes to shoes and organization. I brought in a pair of Berkinstock sandals to be re-corked. Not only did it take 3 months, but they misplaced one of the shoes and gave it to a customer. They attempted to have me leave with someone else's black berkinstock which was also a different size. I had a horrible experience here and my visit was handled by the owner James. I went there trusting them with getting me the best shoes for my work and comfort. In the end after spending close to 300.00 I'm at a loss for words to describe the experience. The shoes I initially agreed on did not get ordered and I was told by James that he felt what I ordered was not what I needed. I was also talked into some inserts that were 50.00 and told by James that I clearly needed these because of my feet being flat and they would help. My visit here was based on trust and the concern to talk to a knowledgeable person about my feet and their health. After receiving the shoes I wore them one time for a few hours. When I finally got a hold of someone to explain my dissatisfaction with them.(which took several days) I was told they could not be refunded because I wore them. I now have a 300.00 pair of shoes. The Owner of a shoe store suggested to me I needed "THE OWNER" I also have a pair of inserts that have been wearing and they began hurting my feet more than helping. Alot of discomfort all because I trusted them. I will be letting the better business bureau know about this. This is a lot of money for me to be out when all I asked for was help with my feet and their discomfort. So if I was you I would think twice about getting shoes from here . read more

My shoe repair was completed for a fair price. The wait time was a month long and the repair left some cracks and scuffs in the heel when they returned. The staff were rude and didn't greet me when I entered the store or even said "someone will be with you shortly" since they were assisting other clients. Then one of the employees bumped me out of the way after someone else finally was helping me so he and his customer could use the cash registwr first. Not impressed by the mostly adequate repair, rude behavior, and lack of customer service. Oh- and while I was there, one of the other customers had several complaints about shoes the employee sold them the last time they were there. Hard pass. 2/5. Second star since they're open despite the pandemic (and I'm sure struggling like everyone right now) and because the repair fixed the problem (although created an imperfection). read more

Very unpleasant experience. Missy was pleasant enough when we spoke on the phone earlier in the day, but quite cold when I showed up to purchase the insert for my shoe, and it's not like I showed up five minutes before closing on Friday. I was there a full 40+ minutes before closing, yet she came off as though I was a big inconvenience to her evening. I brought the two styles of shoes I wear to make sure the insert would work with either. After we verified the first, she told me she'd "meet me up front" (which is actually the rear of the store) and walked away, leaving me to check fit on the second shoe myself. I don't know if it was the fact that I (only) was masked or if because I'd brought the script after she'd informed me insurance typically didn't cover the cost of the insert (though I felt if necessary to bring the script regardless), or something else. Whatever the source of her attitude, she made it clear to me that she had little regard for me as a customer. Won't ever go there for shoes, and will look elsewhere, even out of town, if I ever need to purchase another insert. Way to go, Missy, you helped your store lose a customer. read more

This is the place to go for anyone with foot issues. They spend lots of time with you (which can mean a long wait sometimes if there are other customers ahead of you), and the staff is so knowledgable (they are certified pedorthists). They won't let you walk out of there without the exact right shoe. Their office staff members are experts in insurance billing, in case you are lucky enough to have insurance that covers footwear. Their clearance room downstairs has good deals too. read more

I brought my Kate Spade purse in to have the handles fixed. I was told it would take 1-2 weeks max to finish. It has now been a month and a half and they haven't reached out once. I called them three weeks after dropping off my purse and the guys on the phone couldn't find my bag and had me on hold for 10 minutes!! He said it would be fixed the following Monday. It is now three weeks after I spoke with the guy and it still isn't done!!! Terrible customer service. If you want your items repaired in a timely manner then do yourself a favor and take your belongings elsewhere. read more

The customer service here has gone down hill! My elderly parents went to Corey's to select their annual pair of diabetic shoes. The staff was so nasty towards my parents that they left without ordering any shoes. My parents have been long time customers, but they do not plan on ever returning to Corey's again. I have mixed feelings about Corey's Bootery and I am not sure that I got orthotics that will end up working for me because I will not be going back to this establishment. I have had a few serious injuries on my legs and a few minor injuries on my ankles and feet. Alas, my gait is different in both legs and I decided to finally get a new pair of custom-made orthotics. I bought a new pair of Brooks while getting fitted for the orthotics. The associate sized my feet prior to me trying on the shoes. They felt the same as other Brooks shoes that I had owned and I bought the 7.5B that I tried. I have been a Brooks customer for over a decade and use them casually and athletically. The orthotics were made promptly and they managed things with my doctor and insurance very well. I was having a hard time getting my doctor to get the prescription over and Corey's was great about organizing it. When I picked them up, I declined trying the orthotics on because of the shoes I was wearing. Needless to say, I was super excited to try them out at the gym. I took the inserts out (which were paper-thin) of the Brooks and put these in and they made the shoes a bit tight, but at the same time, the back of the shoe wouldn't stay on. I decided to try them out anyhow and see how I could adjust the laces during my walk. After a few tries in this, I found I couldn't go about 2.7 mph without pain. It felt like my feet were being folded into two (each). Front-to-back, they didn't seem so bad, but from top-to-bottom, I felt the pinge significantly after a few uses. My arches also felt like I had a bowling ball under each foot. I could wear them when I knew I wasn't going to be walking fast (yeah, defeating the purpose), but I knew this was not going to work. I went back in and the associate was attentive. I agreed with her that I felt that the shoes were now too small. She returned with a pair of shoes that seemed to fit better. The insoles that they had in them were a lot thicker and I figured that would fix the problem (more room top-to-bottom). I tried them on and said that they felt a bit loose on the sides. She said that was how they were supposed to fit. The adjustment to the laces to get my left foot back to the heel only worked temporarily. I figured I would try them out. She even replaced them free-of-charge due to insurance. The next day, I decided to test-drive the new shoes. I got about .25 way around the block from my house and my left foot was already in writhing pain. I should have turned around, but I hate not giving something a chance. By the time I had gotten around the block, I had to stop every few feet and stretch my feet out and I was limping. I don't even know how to describe the pain other than close-to-tears. Maybe my foot being impaled by blunt objects in the middle while being pulled-under by the pinky toe? (I also had shin splits and ankle pain for the rest of the weekend.) I took off the shoes and looked at the size and they were an 8 2E. So, cool, whatever, I will take them back and get an attentive person to help get a narrower, better shoe. I went in, asked for the manager because I wanted to explain the situation that the shoes were way too big. I tried to, but he was on defensive-speak from moment one. He insisted that shoes that were too big do not normally cause problems and that it could be the inserts instead. I said I had been wearing 7.5B for a decade (meaning Brooks) and he said, "but Brooks tend to run extremely small." I said, I have been wearing them for a decade. I was even wearing a pair of 7.5B Brooks at that moment! I knew he wasn't going to listen to me as he only seemed to be defending the associate that gave me the 8 2E shoes and the 8 2E shoes themselves. I left the shoes on the chair and left. I have no time and no dignity left to waste on people who do not listen. I am also not giong to keep a pair of shoes that cause me such pain. Though, I do wish I had the pair that they swapped for the ones that I abandoned because they were at least cute and worked with the original insoles for casual wear. I do not doubt that there may be a problem with the inserts. But, he shrugged-off my concerns the instant I started talking. I also realize that inserts can affect sizing but not from a 7.5B to 8 2E. I guess now I just get to deal with the pain and wait until my insurance will pay for another pair of orthotics and just go through a podiatrist. Honestly, if you have not had serious injuries or significant foot/ankle issues, you are most-likely in great hands at Corey's. read more

I don't usually take the time to write internet reviews but I just couldn't let this experience go un noticed. I have been going to Corey's bootery for many years now and I must say they are usually very helpful and feature a knowledgeable staff. I go to Corey's atleast once or twice a year to get a new pair of tennis shoes as brooks are the only shoes that I feel comfortable in while running. Over the years I have experienced good service, that is until I recently visited Corey's and was helped by an employee named Boston. I can honestly say this was the worst service I have ever gotten at Corey's with the man being very rushed even though they weren't particularly busy, cutting me off whenever I tried to talk and was very condescending. He didn't take any time to listen to what my actual concerns were and was very blatantly annoyed. Overall just rude and impatient and after many years of coming to Corey's I have not decided if I will be coming back. read more
