Dr. Farmer was the surgeon who did my surgery. Very nice man with a great bedside manner. I have…read morehad problems since my surgery and my knee doesn't bend any more and seems worse after the procedure . Now I have white thread looking like material protruding out of my scar. Surgery was in May. I called office and the nurse told me that it wouldn't have anything to do with my surgery and I would need to go to urgent care. I asked is it dangerous and she stated well I can't tell you that only urgent care can inform you . So I asked again so this wouldn't be a follow up to my surgery because I have had problems since I had it done and she states no. The office has screwed up 3 appointments of mine as well. I showed up for an appointment and first they say or you have no appointment today and I said yes today is pre- op appointment and the front desk tells me well Dr. Farmer is off today so you can see PA. I should of realized then not to go forward with surgery . Even though my knee was killing me and I had a torn meniscus (which wasn't fixed during surgery , PA stated they didn't need to as it wasn't in the way with my knee), my knee cracks, grinds and pops when I try to bend it and I can't get past 50 degrees. The office won't assist you in getting an appointment and urgent care isn't that great either . First time I went to there I was told nothing was wrong with my knee. Even though my knee popped very loud and I dropped to the ground . I'm very disappointed over this whole ordeal. Depressed is a under statement .. don't go to this office . Dr Farmer did a manipulation and knee works wonderful . I informed Dr Farmer of all my concerns and he addressed all of them and everything was fixed !! Thank you Dr Farmer. I should of been more informative with you in the begging and expressed issues that arises.

So this all started 2 years ago when dr stuart gardner replaced my right knee..day after surgery…read morethe knee was literally clunking..was worse than my knee with no meniscus..he said it still needed to heal..6months later my left hip popped out mowing the grass..found out I have hip impingement in both hips..deformity yay...anyway gardner replaced hip ..when I was allowed to step on it my first time putting weight on it(I'm 6ft 2 230 ..big guy..the implant dropped 3 cm into my femur and I fell..went to see dr stuart and he said sorry we are closing down today..no joke...southwest ortho in blacksburg..so I went to bruce byrd at orthovirginia in blacksburg...he replaced a piece in hip.not whole thing...then not long after I was standing up using my right knee as support and the messed up implant in knee tweaked to far and I lost balance barely above the couch..I shifted weight to left leg instinctively and top of my femur shattered..that healed quickly but the cup of the old hip insert finally was damaged enough and my left hip dislocated 3 times in next 2 weeks..long story short we found infection in my joint...probably was reason nothing worked correctly..bruce byrd removed it completely in May of last year...months of antibiotics later I go to see him to schedule hip and he doesn't want to do surgery..wanted another Dr to come down.i asked if he could do it and he said yes..so I said he is gonna put it back in..I did an aspiration and they found no fluid so I asked to schedule hip and he said no now he wanted to do an mri..I said nope..I'm hiv positive and any extra hospital visits could give me a worse infection.my infectious disease dr chaudry said I was good to go infection wise months ago and wondered why my hip was still out..at that point bruce byrd stopped calling me back and I was forced to fire him..made appointment with dr stewert at the carilion and got another aspiration xray and needed an mri..I can't lay in them..15 joint surgeries..so I asked him for 1 pill to get through it and he says ask robin akers my pcp..made sense and I did.she says no it's on him not her..again..1 pill of there choice and I had a driver..nope..I called stewert back and talked to Natasha his nurse and accidentally said 2 cuss words with no intent or context..I apologize immediately and she says no problem sweety...so I end up going to mri after a beer and one of my dogs painpills.barely got through it..2 days later I go to see stewert and when my girl and I get there there's a cop up front..I say my name to lady and he immediately looks at his notebook..weird...we get put in office and stewert and nurse come in..he looks at me all goofy and says your good to go for hip but we won't do it because of cussing phone calls and my old surgeon byrd called and sayed I threatened him over phone..it was a message I left saying if u see me in public go the other way because I don't ever want to see him again..not a threat at all.ive got 1 leg.lol.dang....anyway instead of freaking out like they thought I would I said have a nice day and we left crying..my report says that I said I drank before last visit..sorry it was 2 days earlier and yup I did..says I denied taking narcotics...wtf..I asked him for 1...and threatening and cursing phone calls..they would of had me arrested if any of it was true..so made up..and because I have medicaid I can't sue and get my hip and life back..

I went in to pick them up and one of the receptionists (far right) claimed she called and left a message. Funny to find out I pulled my verizon call history and had no missed calls from them, although she insisted she did it. Turns out the system lost my x-rays so they were willing to work with me and scanned me again. When I went back into the room they had me marked down as my right foot although I've never had issues with the right and when I went, my left was the only one evaluated. They did the scans and told me to wait back in the waiting area. The entire time I was waiting, the same receptionist was making sly comments about it being my right foot and that it even said that in the chart. I'd understand if my right foot was affected in the past but it's always been my left so that must've been the nurse/Drs mistake which is a common mistake when charting notes. I tried to stay friendly and even told them to have a nice day when they handed over the disc and the receptionist just said "uh huh" as I said it. I honestly don't know how she is staffed at the face of the office. She is very unprofessional and unpleasant. Definitely doesn't have patient care in mind. Will never go back there and will steer people away. It doesn't take much to just be a nice person.

I had to retrieve 5 out of ten nails. They were half trimmed and sharp. I had to file them all smooth. They charged $331 dollars for about 10% of what you get for $35 at a nail salon. Plus they soak your feet and shave your calluses and rub your feet all while sitting in a massage chair. Oh, she trimmed my calluses a little bit and cut me pretty good too. I do not.recommend Dr. Hoffman. Every one was nice and polite. Oh, and when I left, we agreed that they would take 1/2 of the copay at the first of this month and 1/2 next month. Today, I get a bill for the entire copay. Whoever handles their accounting dropped the ball as well. Granted it's only $35, but sometimes that's tight on a fixed disability income.
