I frequent the CorePower studios in Minneapolis/St. Paul. So, I was thrilled when I found out they opened a CP in one of my favorite vacation spots- Encinitas. I took two classes while I was in Encinitas: a C1 and a Hot Power Fusion. Both instructors were really good. I just wish they had a 90 minute Hot Yoga class instead of just the 60 minute version. (Really, the 60 minute version is just a wham-bam-thankyou-ma'am.) Yes, I would say this studio looks quite a bit like all the other CorePower yoga studios- it is corporate after all. Expect to find clean facilities and a well-stocked locker room. However, the location is beautiful. There is a great backdrop of the mountains! So pretty and worth a look! You might want to bring your own lock because this is one of those CP studios that don't provide you with a lock. Plus, there is plenty of parking around! Yah! read more

Took a C1.5 class with Hilary, it was pretty good, she went through the class methodically and thoroughly, but my only beef was that she didn't seem to notice or care if anyone in the class was new or needed extra instruction. No adjustments or 1:1 attention whatsoever, and the class wasn't even that full! In any case, the studio and locker room were up to the regular CorePower standard, so no surprises there. If I was in the area, I'd definitely hit the studio again for yoga, but I'd try a new instructor for sure. read more

I love that they offer a free week of yoga. I would have never gone if they didn't and I would be missing out on so much!! I absolutley love the hot power fusion class. It was my first time and i went to the 5:00 class. there were a lot of people but it helped since i didn't know any poses and could copy the people around me. I did C1.5 too and it was more of a challange but i did like how the instructor showed us the poses since there weren't many people there. Over all i LOVE it and im buying the month pass. I wish someone pushed me into it sooner! read more

Just attended the CP1 class at 7p with Tanya. Ive been attending CorePower classes at the Pt Loma, Hillcrest, and even North Park locations. I've been very happy with all the locations except the La Jolla location. I'm glad to see that they keep the same business mind and attitude at this new location. I'm so happy to have CPY so close that its actually walking distance for me now. Very happy and looking forward to attending more classes. read more

These bathrooms are amazing!! I think that was my favorite part of coming to CP. The lotion and earswabs and body wash...all smell good and the whole area was always sooo clean. The staff is always super nice and the instructors are always very positive! I took every type of class and Yoga Sculpt and CP2 were def both my favorite! Hot yoga is the best workout!!!! Im so sad my free week is over, but I'll def be coming back :) read more

I love corePower yoga but this location is awesome. The studios are super big, you don't need to struggle for an area to put your mat. I love how everything is placed. Really recommend this location. read more

Really nice, clean studio with a nice variety of classes. They used to have a great group of very experienced teachers. Unfortunately the last few years they have had a high turn over of teachers and many of the new teachers they are bringing on have been less experienced. As of recently I was still going here for the HPF Hot Power Fusion class which is a "routine" so I could do my own thing despite the teacher and really enjoyed it. Now they have killed the evening 5pm HPF class so I'm out. read more

LOVE this studio! I have been to several studios in the Encinitas area, and no other studio compares to CP. The staff and instructors here are highly trained and always friendly--which goes a long way for me. They make every effort to keep their schedule, and classes are hardly ever cancelled. Great network, music selection is fun for each class and the studio is meticulously maintained. I would highly recommend CP Encinitas to anyone looking for hot yoga at a really nice and clean studio in the area! read more

Big fan of Core Power. I like the style of Yoga as opposed to the relaxing flow Yoga. I want my Yoga to be a workout. Nice new clean studio. I have only been to the CP1 class and it is not overly crowed like a few other Core Powers I have been too. (ie PB HIllcrest Point Loma) Glad to see it in Encinitas. read more

I used to love this studio, however, these days I barely go. They constantly cancel classes and have essentially eliminated the HPF class, which is very disappointing. These days I have to drive all the way to Del Mar or 4S even though I live closer to ENC.. what happened to this studio that was at one point one of the best? read more

There are things I love about this studio and experience, and things I hate. This Core Power has two studios in an easy to get to location, lots of parking-tho cramped spaces for cars. Only been open a little over two months and classes lean from about 6 persons to about 22. They say the studios can hold 65 people, but the classes with 22 really bring up the heat and sweat smell. The flow is good and one hour is perfect. They are not administrative staffed and the doors are locked when class starts, for the uninitiated. Get there early as it is disrespectful when the teachers wait for the late arrivals that are dribbling in the last five minutes, go to the locker room and then make the rest of us wait 10-15 minutes to get started. What I really like is that a FEW of the teachers are really instructors, not just repeating the flow verbally. They keep 'tabs' on the students and work with them regarding substitute postures, etc. In other words, they are teaching the class and staying aware of the students needs. This is a good reason to pay more for their classes, not get the 24 hr fitness or ymca cattle car type of class. However, they are not consistent. There is a real difference in their instructors, some just seem like they are on rote...and the music inappropriate for the type of class. C1 needs to be softer than a fast sculpt class as the students are beginners. Some of their music is too hyper. What I don't like...there is no consistency in the class temps for the C1 and C1.5 class. They say there is and they have a standard, but it seems to depend on the teacher. Some of the classes are way too hot and uncomfortable. They have a problem with the timing of classes, if you have a sculpt class right before a C1 class, then 15 minutes is not enough time to cool down the room. Sometimes they are late getting out of the class and then the studio is left dirty, sweaty and smelly for the incoming class, as well as being too hot. That said, I like the studio, the view out of #1 is fabulous- trees swaying, but they are inconsistent and I don't like going into a hot, dirty class after sculpt has come out, so try it and multiple teachers and times to see if you can get what you need for the price they charge. read more

I'd love to rave about the yoga and the experience/knowledge/next level shit that the instructors offer in class but hey, let's get real, this is corporate yoga. 5 minutes late to class because of traffic, car trouble, life in general? Oh I'm sorry, you're not allowed. One minute late and a new student? Nope, sorry, better luck next time It's this type of bullshit globo-gym-yoga that is ruining it for everyone. YOGA = UNITY. Where's the unity when denying a student, seasoned or novice, at 3 minutes past the class start time due to "company policy"? F*ck you Core-porate-liars...oh, and, Namaste mother f^ckers. read more

CorePower is the Starbucks of yoga. It's popular, it's consistent and it has a strong corporate flavor. CorePower "signature" flow is extremely repetitive and even their instructors all sound the same. Their Core Restore classes actually offer the most variety. The facilities are fairly comfortable/utilitarian, the walls are decorated with signs, reminders and corporate looking posters. The Encinitas location features a small boutique upfront, with a selection of trendy yoga clothes and accessories. It is nice to be able to see eucalyptus trees out of both studio rooms even though the studio location is on a busy street read more

What? Another yoga studio in Encinitas?! You know what that means: a week of FREE yoga! Woohoo! Hey and it's down the hill from my house! Double woohoo! Could this be the yoga for me? Let's find out... I knew nothing about the CorePower Yoga chain when I popped in the door to pick up the schedule. "What style of yoga do you offer?" I asked the gal at the desk. "It's a vinyasa-based style, heated but not as hot as Bikram," (read: everyone knows those Bikram peeps are craaazy). Okay, cool, I've tried this heated stuff before. Might not my thing but hey, sometimes I like to change things up and plus it's free for a week! Not wanting to set myself up for failure, I started with a C1 class. Hot? Check. Mirrors? Check. Loud music? Check. But wait, there's more! Crunches in the middle of practice!! So THAT'S why they call it core power yoga... It has nothing to do with your energy, chakra, karma or whatever - it's your abs they're talkin' 'bout. Hmm. Certainly not a classical yoga practice. Umm, yeah okay... I did like the little aromatherapy spray during sivasana, though. That's a nice touch. I tried a bunch of different classes and instructors over my free week, including the yoga sculpt class which I thought was the most aptly named, call-a- spade-a-spade class. Really it was just weird to me doing ab work during yoga. I guess I'm a separatist: church from state, meat from potatoes, yoga from pilates... It's a very nice studio, the instructors were cool, it's just not my style. If you like heat and you like vinyasa it's worth checking out. Location: Encinitas Blvd., between the 5 and Westlake/Quail Gardens. Parking: No problem, wish the lot was a little better lit at night but maybe it had to do more with the weather than the lighting. Facility: New=Beautiful. Love the fireplace! Women's locker room is gorgeous - total spa feeling. Very fancy water cooler outside the two rooms. I don't remember which studio was which but I liked the one with the orange wall better, no reason other than the color. You can rent mats and buy water. Blocks and weights are provided. (Wait, did I say weights? That doesn't sound like yoga...) Requisite retail section with pretty, pricey yoga togs. Instructors: Decent yoga knowledge but at least with some of them, it kind of seemed like they go off some kind of script. They do make some corrections, which I appreciate. A lot of times in flow classes they don't correct you and you end up making the same mistake over and over. Pretty friendly, only an occasional air of "yogier-than-thou." read more

Went to the 3:30 1.5 class. For the most part, the class was fine. My low rating is due to the fact that the instructor finished about five minutes early (it is only an hour class) and then proceeded to tell the class while in savasana to continue lying there and thinking and then she left to go to the front desk. I just don't think a yoga instructor should leave her class early, I pay so that I get instruction for the full hour I can meditate on my own. read more

I have been practicing Yoga for over a year and a half and go almost every day. I have gone to several of the different CorePower locations and all of them have an amazing staff and group of instructors. When it comes to the most preferred Encinitas CorePower Yoga is my choice. The energy is amazing, the members are humble and truly dedicate themselves to their practice. I have made many great friends here and enjoy the positive friendly environment. Its one of the highlights of my day to go there. I highly recommend it as it may change your life.-Namaste read more

I was just visiting from out of town, went with my sister once. She (my sister) goes there when she can, and likes it. I'm just a beginner, and hadn't done any yoga in years. It was a very relaxed environment, with no pressure, which I enjoyed. I would definitely go back. I wish they had CorePower Yoga up in my area (Fresno/Clovis, CA.) My first time there and I got a week free, which was very nice. Highly recommend them. I really liked the instructor too. She was great. read more

I was brought to Core Power for several reasons... 1. They offer a free, yes FREE, trial week! 2. I know 2 fine folk who have not only been a student of Core Power, but also completed their teacher training program, and did nothing but rave about this place. 3. It's 5 minutes from my house and I had a burning desire to check out a new hot yoga studio. I honestly didn't know what to expect before I stepped onto my mat for my first class. I was skeptical because Core Power is a chain. I thought to myself, how can this possibly beat the local studio I had been religiously attending the past 3 years?! Well, I was more than pleasantly surprised! I went to 6 classes out of my 7 day trial period. Each and every one of the teachers was absolutely amazing! They explain everything, but not in a "come on, I know this shizz already" kind of way. I love the variety of classes Core Power offers, as well as the wide range of time options! The studios are beautiful, and clean (which is a MUST when it comes to hot yoga)! Another perk: Core Power's locker room... complete with actual lockers and showers! A great place to chillax between classes (if you choose to do back to back classes, which I recommend) and a nice place in general to hose off quick, before jumping in the car to go home. Even though I felt like I was cheating on my old studio all last week, I can't help myself. I'm moving on over to Core Power. But don't worry old studio, we'll still be friends. read more

One of my favorite studios. Very cool place to relax before and after class. Julia and Cici, the managers are so welcoming to everyone and there relationship is too cute. It makes for a comfortable place to socialize with people that love yoga just as much as me. This studio offers all types of yoga, and a free week. See you around Namaste! read more

I have been coming to Core Power for 2 years and it has truly changed my life. CP was the reason I fell in love with yoga when before I was turned off by the cliques of other studios. What differentiates CP from other studios? The 3 A's :) Approachable, Accessible & Athletic yoga for EVERYONE. Note: "approachable" does NOT mean easy boring or prepackaged... every teacher there has a unique & challenging style that will guide you in your growth on the mat. Everyone here is friendly and genuinely cares about each and every student (esp at this Encinitas studio). There are SO many classes to chose from so if your a busy bee like myself this is another plus-- a wide variety of classes are offered from 6AM on the hour until 8:00PM and warning you might like getting ready here more than you do in your own bathroom --this studio is like a spa. Want more!? There are constant free special events and super fun live music or themed classes open to all members... I could go on and on. I loved Core Power so much I went through 2 Teacher Trainings with them --I highly recommend! ...... ok I'll stop b/c now I'm starting to sound obsessed :) Trust me with a free week You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. read more

We are super blessed to have tons of awesome yoga all over the place here in Encinitas. CorePower is by far one of the most pleasant yoga studios I have experienced. If you're looking for a bit more than meditative yoga, this is the place to go. Prepare to get a nice workout while still enjoying the other benefits of yoga. Great teachers and management! read more

This is the yoga class to come to if you like a "get in, get out, get sweaty" feel. I have taken over a dozen classes here and NOT ONCE has a teacher adjusted me. There is never enough time during poses to advance into immersions nor is there any teaching for those. If you have done yoga for over a year, you'll be bored with the flow. The yoga sculpt classes are an incredible work out class but the only "yoga" to it is some downward dogs and spiritual warriors in between bootcamp workout methods. However, just focusing on the poses and weights with a mind over matter approach can be meditative. People are nice at the studio, but it feels forced. None of their classes are spiritual - and if a teacher tries to incorporate the spiritual aspects, it feels glossed over. But the heat...the heat is great - and a bigger studio with water versus Yoga Tropics. read more

I'm a member up at Corepower Berkeley, but down here for a while visiting my sister. I've been to this studio for C2 classes a couple of times now and loved it. C2 last night with Tanya was amazing. She does such a unique set of flows and poses and is incredibly supportive throughout. The studios are clean and spacious with good air flow. great locker rooms and showers. I can't speak to other studios in the area, but I will say this one's great. read more

I have been living in Encinitas for almost 4 years and I have tried many yoga studios in the area. And, as we know, Encinitas has no shortage of yoga. But, this has by far exceeded them all! They have a beautiful, clean and modern space with a dressing room. The classses vary by skill level, focus and heat preference. Alyssa, the instructor of the Sculpt I attended has a extremely positive style of teaching and the class was both challanging as well as fun. I would reccomend Core Power to anyone because they really do have classes to accomdate everyone! I am so happy that they are here in Encinitas. read more

My swim team and I are training to swim the English Channel in June. In addition to our open-ocean-no-fins-or-wetsuit training, we have been participating in HPF at core power to build up our strength and ability to stay focused, calm and meditative. I really feel welcome and overall great when I enter that room! :) read more

Loved, loved visiting the Encinitas studio this past week while on vacation. The studio is simply amazing -- loved the expansive lobby area, women's locker room and two studios! My home studio in Torrance is sooooo much smaller and sooooo much busier. Claire and Carrie were both extremely welcoming and flowed through HPF with a calmness that was new and refreshing to me at the same time. I will definitely visit Encinitas again and never hesitate to drop-in to another CorePower studio in my travels. Thank you!!! read more

The instructors at Core Power are wonderfully connected and dedicated, making this the ideal place to deepen my yoga practice!

The studio needed to be cleaned before class today..it was filthy and I watched an ant crawling around the floor while I was in down dog...

Not for newbies, I guess. I took a few classes a while ago and bought a 10-class pass. But now when I check the schedule, there are literally 8 Level 2 classes and ONE Level 1 class (at 8:00pm) on weekdays. And if you're looking for a class on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, there are NO Level 1 classes offered. I've been checking back for at least a month, and this has been the regular offerings. Maybe a good place to go if you're already somewhat proficient, but not welcoming to new-to-yoga folks. read more

Josh B's C2 class is nothing less than pure yogic meditation! I had never taken his class before and ventured in last Friday!
