FYI this place has recently rebranded to be Good Vibrations Yoga…read more Disclaimer: Before Good Vibrations, I have not visited a yoga studio but instead practiced at home, following Yoga with Adriene videos. I've been coming here for only a couple of weeks, but I am a huge fan! I live nearby and am super glad I decided to visit. I got a Groupon for 10 sessions and didn't start using it until it nearly expired unfortunately, but Andrew at Good Vibrations was kind enough to extend the duration so I could properly use all of the sessions, for which I am very grateful. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the classes are very small (I have been in a class with only one other student before!), which I didn't think I would like. However, I have really liked how personal the yogis can get--instructors will give guidance if you're in a pose that may be harmful to your body. And because the classes are small, there is a really great community feeling amongst studio-goers. Instructors remember a lot of students by name, which is such a good feeling - definitely builds up the community vibe. As a beginner, I find it really useful that their website describes classes and to which skill levels they cater. The mindbody site to register for classes is also really great because it not only has the schedule, but there are descriptions that help you find the class for you. Yoga Foundations class with Karen has been really great for my beginner yogi level. Another great thing about this studio is that there are materials that people can borrow for their practice - having bolsters, straps, and blankets available has been really great, especially since I don't want to spend money on my own for so many yoga tools. Though, it does definitely encourage me to get a set of my own... In general, I would definitely recommend this studio. I always feel great when I leave the studio, and I look forward to each class. Once my Groupon has been utilized, I hope to still be returning regularly.

The studio is located right in downtown Shakopee in a compact second floor location. I love the studio look and feel, it's very large, with a few interesting embellishments, and all the props imaginable. I found them on Groupon, and not only is that a great deal, they also offer a free week for new clients! I'd like to see a wide offering of more intermediate/advanced yoga classes, but the beginner flow and restorative classes are really enjoyable too. Barre classes always leave me sore for days, and these do not disappoint. The instructors have been so friendly and knowledgeable on what they are teaching, good focus on form, etc. Highly recommend practicing here.

Their prices are very competitive for individual classes as well as a nice offering 5 or 10 or unlimited class packages. I like that classes are on the smaller size and more intimate. Their instructors are all pretty awesome! I keep going back to Barre with both Madison and Raina because both kick my booty each and every time. Hello noodle legs! I love that each instructor adds their own unique style and flavor when they teach a certain class. Even if you like to stick to just Barre or Sculpt or Yoga, you'll never walk out of there feeling bored. You challenge your body and soothe your soul and you walk out of there sweaty and blissful. Try all the classes with all the different instructors to keep it fresh. You can sign up online through the MINDBODY app or you can just drop in for a class. And don't forget download Flok and sign in each time you take a class. It's their rewards program and you get sweet discounts and even score free classes from time to time. Go ahead and let them it's your Birthday! It's a double win; those endorphins make you feel great and a free class or 25% off does too! Gotta love that!

The office space is professional with a feel of understanding the human body. Lauren provided an unparralled level of knowledge and execution of that know how. Positive-Applied adequate pressure for a deep tissue massage…read more Negative-The first session, I understand the questions and the need for communication. But at the end of this session, I informed her that I prefer to not communicate during a massage. Thinking that I would be listened to, I then booked two appointments online. The next one I wanted to leave within the first 15 minutes of arriving. She did not listen to my request to not have ongoing communication during the session. But that wasn't the main reason I wanted to leave. The first 15 minutes of the session she asked me what worked and didn't work for the last session, I told her places on my body that I did not want touched. I felt like I was being argued with for the next 15 minutes as to why she felt the need to touch me in those areas. Then at the end of the session when I was tired, and just wanted to go home, she spent another 10 minutes trying to show me in a book why she felt the need for these areas to be addressed. I already said no. But I'm not listened to. My other massage therapist was wonderful and listened to me and never touched those areas. Unfortunately she's too far away For me to continue to see and so that's why I thought I would give Lauren a chance. During the session she kept bringing up reasons why she felt the need to go in those areas. I also felt like I was being talked down to about why she felt the need to work on those areas even though I said no. I am BIPOC and some of the things she was doing were not culturally sensitive. I understand as a white practitioner she may not understand these issues, so I spent part of that time explaining it to her. I was still not listened to and she insisted continuing to do these things. I wanted to leave the session, but I had already paid, so I stayed. I left that session, feeling frustrated, angry, and demeaned. I went online to cancel my next appointment and she sent me a text back saying that she would not refund my money. Adding insult to injury. I didn't want my money to fully go to waste, so I sent a Caucasian coworker to use my remaining session. She, too, felt that the session was more chatty than she likes. She, too, will not be returning. Rarely would I write a bad review. But this one had me so upset I just had to. There's so many massage therapists in the city. I wouldn't recommend going to this one.
