The Y isn't the cheapest place to workout but they offer so much more for the money, plus the give back to the community in many ways. Parking at this Y can be challenging during the busy hours. Plus Robinhood road is a hot mess of traffic, making it hard to get in and out. Still, very nice Y and highly recommend.

The location was once a supermarket and that translates into the mostly single common space layout that is sort of unique to this YMCA. To me I feel and abdorb more energy from all the more easily visible happy action driven people in greater observable mass of gathering / congregation. And ust a little less in more segmented layouts at other locations primarily thinking yhe WGW YMCA the there seems more familial to me probably cause I started my membership there years before this location opened. All locations great but to me definitely bit different feels which suits my preferences perfectly I love the variety options. And luckily I live smack in the middle of my 3 preferred locations. -- I love the mission statements of the YMCA and the promotion community enrichment, it's dual / multiple missions (see photos of the flyers and room mission labels / titles. Intellectual and even soul (Chaplain connection) at this location. Place is welll equipmed and even expanding with outside workout areas that one day will include pickleball. The other locations with wer areas a quick distances from here. The stadf and environment are super pleasant. The lockers in the changing areas are metal and ample and mostly in good operating condition. I absolutely love that they padded running / walking track circle around the open space equipment workout area. Complimentary coffee provided during morning hours with goood sufficiently strong flavor that is perfect to my preferences. Magazines and lounging areas are super appreciated. Sufficient but not over abundant TV''s to see sports / etc. Showers operating sufficiently in locker rooms. Multiple yoga /! Pilates class spaces at least 4. Conference room available for... Wrapping up I feel happy and energized ane centered when come to this location. I strongly recommend giving this and all YMCA WS locations a try. And they take income into consideration for the less advantaged. And if haven't changed a lot of Medicaid Advantage plans offer SILVER SNEAKERS that covers most if not all of the costs of typical gym memberships. I believe my regular priced dues run about $49 per month. Allowing me to use any YMCA location in the USA and possibly betond. A super nice feature if travel. -- PS Would be really great if at least on of the YMCA'S per city stay open till midnight. During Covid the schedule lost 1 hour and even 10pm during the week was less than my rythm would like options wise. Now 9pm M-T, 8pm F, 6pm S S.

I'm so glad I did let's just start with the cleanliness of this place I give the sanitation 5/5 , it's Not the biggest gym in the triad but In my opinion it's the most TOP QUALITY over quantity they have all the right machines & equipment for any athlete whether Bodybuilding, Foot ball player or just anyone wanting to live a healthier lifestyle. Let's tap into the Wait time for equipment I stopped in around 9:40 and there was absolutely no wait on equipment and it wasn't over Crowded. I can honestly say this place made me feel like a pro bodybuilder while I was training but I probably look like SpongeBob this is a place for anyone that means business and are serious about their fitness goals hands down ! But no seriously if you haven't checked this gym out please go visit them the owner Ron is super cool , helpful and he will even apply your day pass to your membership, I'll definitely be coming back with my wife and daughter as I'm trying to convince both of them to take on a healthier lifestyle and I believe phenom fitness will be a great place for them to start free of gym judgement . 10/10 the best gym in Winston Salem !

After a few bone breaks, my doctor recommended strengthening the muscle that protects the bone to prevent further damage. To make the process more efficient, he also recommended that I find a trainer who could review my needs, take into account my limitations and develop a program for someone my age that would achieve the desired results. I researched various gyms in the area - most provide the 'do it yourself' approach. When I found Sage Strength and checked out the reviews, I completed their online form and a discussion was scheduled. They heard me out, considered my situation and developed a program that did not use machinery but rather relied on my own body weight plus, dumbbells, kettlebells and resistance bands. It works. While the workouts are challenging (as they should be), taking the necessary recovery time between sessions really works. I can feel myself getting stronger and more confident. The Sage Strength team of trainers and coaches never disappoints. Each member is extremely professional and knowledgeable - quick to point out a correction in approach or, to offer an alternative if my limitations mandate it. They are kind, respective, encouraging and willing to help in your quest. For honest, solid, real-world training, Sage Strength is the place to go. I highly recommend them.

Written by someone who used this once as a casual drop in while in town…read more The good: A drop in fee of $5 is pretty hard to beat, big plus there. This gym has a wide range of old school bodybuilding style equipment and has pretty much everything you need. If you are looking for powerlifting-style training equipment, this might not be the best option (for deadlifts) but there is a squat rack and 2-3 benches so you can make do. The bathroom was super clean. Kinda surprising for a gym TBH. They also keep a supply of towels there which is convenient. The slightly inconveniencing: If you are looking for a platform, nada. However the gym does have bars and trap bars, so you'll have what you need to do deadlifts. However all of the plates are steel plates, I could only see a pair of 10lb bumper plates. I just don't feel at liberty to drop things in other people's facilities when I don't have a platform, out of respect for the floor. Also, it's kinda crammed. There is a lot of gear in a small space. This wasn't a problem when I was there because there was only one other person training there, but it could get very crowded with 10 or more people in the space. The not so good: The weights are everywhere. People don't put things away and if they do, plates are mixed up everywhere. Bars are left loaded with 275lbs just sitting there like a zombie apocalypse hit and everyone had to get out. The place was not attended when I was there (and might not ever be attended - go to the tanning salon next door if you're not a member and want to pay/get in) so I dare say nobody walks around to pick things up.
