I have been enduring a pain in my lower back, probably due to a protruding disc suffered years ago. Pain while standing, walking, etc. My primary doc recommended physical therapy. Having been to more than a few physical therapists due to an active life style (when I was younger !) I was skeptical of receiving any relief from the pain I experienced daily. Seeking something different from my previous physical therapy routines, I did some research, and discovered Core Physical Therapy. What a difference ! I had an appointment with Jill, and from the first meeting, I knew this was going to have a positive outcome. Jill checked my alignment every session, and then did hands on manipulation on my back, neck, and stomach. I improved after every visit, and on my last session, Jill stretched me like a pretzel, we both heard a pop, and she said " I think I fixed it ". Guess what, she did ! It has been some time now, and I am constantly amazed at how good I feel. I wanted too say how pleased I was with Jill during my therapy, but I was afraid she would become too much in demand, and I would have a problem getting an appointment with her. Overall, an extremely positive experience with Core Physical Therapy, from the front office remembering my name upon arrival and cleaning the therapy room, to the phone and e-mail reminders the day before an appointment. Well it has been a few years since my last review of this business after 2 billing mistakes. I had initially decided never to use them again because they just cannot get their billing straight. However, they have terrific practitioners. So, I decided to try them one more time hoping that maybe their billing staff had improved. They actually messed up the billing yet again. They sent me a copy of the insurance company billing instructions I had given them for my file. It specified the name of the insurance company and the exact address and contact information. They ended up sending the billing to a completely different insurance company - that has been out of business for many years - totally ignoring the information they acknowledged they had in my file. Although they have some terrific PT folks their ongoing billing errors create more aggravation than I am willing to deal with., read more

Unfortunately, I cannot in good faith ever recommend this place. At my first appointment which just happened to be incredibly awkward, I was told by the "therapist " highly conflicting information. I went by what she said and asked me to do even tho I was extremely uncomfortable with her requests. Today I received a call from her telling me she has decided to change my appointments to another "therapist" that I don't even know! And all of this was done behind my back. I had zero input and also zero knowledge this was going on. This left me no option but to discontinue their "services". Yeah, they are "different" and not necessarily in a good way either. This place saved me. Due to col/rec cancer, and much scar tissue, I had a ton of issues. I tried Pelvic PT in the past, but it didn't help me at all. Then I was referred to Core PT. By the time I got here, I was a mess. I thought there was no help left for me. I had so much scar tissue it was causing me major issues with BMs. I was living taking about 10 over the counter meds a day, and also living in the bathroom. I always had pain, and could never leave my house. Core changed that for me. I have been going to Core for seven months, seeing two different physical therapist, and I am in such a better place now. I no longer fear leaving my house, and I no longer live in pain. I still have a way to go with my healing process, but I have full faith Core will bring me as far as I can go. Not only are they terrific at what they do, they all really care about you as a person, and truly go out of their way to help you heal. This place is the best, and I strongly recommend them. This is a whole new level of PT. Troy was able to diagnose and treat issues my husband has had since his open heart surgery. After being active and strong his entire life, his feet were still dragging four years after surgery. Troy could see that my husband's sternum was out of place and making it hard to breathe. Their approach to solving problems is unique & very successful. The evaluation I had uncovered issues from a trip & fall I experienced years ago. Other places would only have treated the knee that hurts now. My therapist will remedy the whole underlying problem which is on the other side of my body. I have been using Core Physical Therapy since 2005. I have used John in particular and many of his associates. After a serious off road accident I travelled to Albany as soon as I was able to have John put me back together again. I listen to my Dr. Opinion but I trust John's. read more

I had been experiencing severe back pain for a year. I was told that I would have to have a spinal fusion and that I would always be in pain. I met with John at Core and after just a few sessions I am pain free and able to do things I was told I'd never do again. They pride themselves on being "different" physical therapists, not relying on modalities like hot packs and ultrasound. As a result, their therapies are a bit "out there" and require quite a bit of faith. You are never given a diagnosis, or told specifically what the pain is from. "Connective tissue" is what you are told, and after a session you are able to lift your arm higher than you did before you came in, but the whole thing is very hard to understand and accept as a patient. I was willing to go along, including with the once a week "cupping", however when I felt that I might have been harmed by therapy, left a message for the therapist who never called back, even when I cancelled all of my upcoming appointments, I had had enough. I don't know the right answer, however I can only go "on faith" for so long, and yes, if I feel i may have been harmed I deserve a call back. read more

I cannot say enough good about the staff here. I've been struggling with a low back injury for 5 years, and in less than a month Becky and Nick have done me more good than a group of doctors, chiropractors, and other physical therapists could in the past 5 years. They use a variety of methods that treat the core of the problem instead of just the symptoms, including stretches, manipulations, alignment techniques, and exercises. Twice I've gone in with flare ups that left my lower back so stiff that I could barely walk, and each time I left almost pain free. read more

I have had sciatic back issues for several years and tried to get relief from pain. I went through a course of regular physical therapy exercises, steroid shots, acupuncture and visits to a chiropractor. None of these helped relieve my pain. As a last ditch effort, I began Core Physical Therapy with Jill. This was the first time that someone looked at my body as a whole, checking my skeletal alignment, trying to find the source of my problem. This was the first time someone did some hands on manipulation of my bones. My body was like a page of braille under Jill's hands. She was actually seeing my body through her fingers. After a month of twice a week therapy, there is a great reduction in pain and an increase in my ability to move without experiencing pain. I am so happy to be able to do my intensive yard work once again, without the terrible back pain that usually followed such activity. I'm so glad my friend recommended Core Physical Therapy and Jill.
