When I tell you that he loves it, HE LOVES IT! The teachers and staff made him feel so comfortable and when it was time for him to officially start, the transition was so smooth! He's always excited to go to school and he learned so much! He is now in kindergarten and still goes there for before and after care. I also have my youngest child in the Infant room since March 2021. She is very much loved and cherished at Childtime and is very comfortable with all the teachers. Everyday at drop off, she launches herself at whoever is at the door. All the staff and teachers that we have come across have been very open with their plans and communications. If there are any issues or concerns, we were notified as well as informed of any action plans that needs to be reinforced at home. I really appreciate the open communication with the school. There were some rough patches in the early of the pandemic, but the care and safety of the kids remained their priority. The new management team of the school are doing the best day can to ensure the kids are safe and well taken care of. I can't thank you all the staff and teachers enough for their dedication.

The bonds that he has developed with the teachers and management are not like any other I have ever seen with other children in other facilities. The teachers truly care about the children, even checking up on them when they are out sick. If/when behavioral issues arise, they really partner with the parents so the child has uniform expectations and consequences of action. The facility in the West End is top notch. They are regularly inspected by the State and have not had an infraction since I enrolled my son over a year ago.

Children are abused here. They are bitten, pinched, forced to sit in chairs, cursed at and…read moredegraded, they are threatened. The teachers know which kids they can do what to; for instance, they know where the cameras are, and they know the 1-2 year olds won't repeat threats. Management is complicit, and they turn their eyes to the abuse because they are afraid of their family-owned business being under scrutiny. One of the members of management told a one year old girl she needed to lay still so she could get her "pussy" cleaned. Kids are regularly told, "If you were my kid, you wouldn't sit down for a week," things like that. I reported the abuse but they did nothing because I didn't realize how widespread it was; multiple teachers laugh when a teacher is "fed up" and threatens a kid. They all do it. It is terrifying. These kids can't defend themselves, and they can't tell us that it's happening, but it is awful and they need help. ​

One of the things I've come to appreciate most about LPA is how much my children have grown, not…read moreonly in learning, but in character. I love hearing "please," "thank you," and "excuse me" without having to remind them every time. The kindness and respect they are taught really carry over into everyday life. Pam, the director, clearly cares deeply about the kids and makes every family feel welcome from day one. The teachers we've worked with have all been excellent: very professional, communicative, and organized, but they still keep things fun and playful for the kids. We came from another daycare in the area and can say with confidence that La Petite is a massive upgrade. In just a few weeks, we've seen marked improvements in our son's behavior and how he interacts with other kids. There is a strong emphasis on the classroom as a community, and it really shows--children seem to learn how to play well together, take turns, and be considerate classmates. The structure and expectations in the classroom feel age-appropriate but still set them up for success. I can very easily see our son being more than ready for kindergarten in a couple of years. They keep the kids busy in the best way -- every day our son is learning something new, with lots of hands-on activities and exploration. The app is also fantastic; we get tons of updates and photos throughout the day so we always feel connected to what he's doing. My only (very minor) gripe is the parking lot -- it's a bit small and can get chaotic during peak drop-off and pickup times. But honestly, that's a small trade-off for the level of care and education our son is getting. Overall, we're extremely happy we made the switch and highly recommend La Petite of Glen Allen to other families.

It is now March 2025 and it's still bothering me and I'm still mortified by what I saw and I need to warn parents. One random weekday I decided to pick my daughter up early so we can have a girl-date. I showed up without letting the teachers or anyone know, walked in and said I was picking my child up early to the front desk. They said that's fine and I went through the door (after scanning my card). What I saw was heartbreaking. "Class" was in session for the pre-pre-k (2-3yo I think) class which I had to walk past in order to reach my daughter's class. There are windows that stretch through the hallway so you can see in the classroom. Clearly they didn't see me. I saw the kids all sitting in a strange silence except one little curly haired black/mixed boy. He was clearly having a meltdown, crying with tears streaming down his face. The teacher visibly was yelling in his ear with so much anger in her eyes. I can tell she was threatening him, something scary. She looked so angry and the little boy looked so helpless. There was another staff member there who looked at the teacher and didn't say anything. I hesitantly kept watching and slowly walking past, the teacher did not look up and at this point she forcibly grabbed him by his arms and sat him down on the chair with the rest of the kids. The boy was still visibly crying. She was still in his ears visibly angry. I grabbed my daughter, her class was sitting together while the teacher paced around their table I guess quizzing them? She didn't smile when she saw me, she didn't look friendly. (They never did honestly) I wish I never enrolled her here. I pray that they never mistreated her, but based off the other comments I'm now thinking it's very likely. My daughter was also newly turned 4, and wearing pull-ups because she was having accidents. They told me she wasn't allowed to wear pull-ups. This place needs to be shut down. I wish anyone who is in search of a daycare center and is considering this one stays far away. It's been 3 weeks since my son went to school at Chesterbrook Stony Point, so far we've been very…read morehappy and lucky to have super nice teachers. They're young, bright, and very energetic. I get a report every day about his eating, sleeping, diaper changing, and various activities he's done through out the day. I call EVERY single day, and the principle Sara is super nice, and always give me a snap shot of what my son is up to. She told me I can call as many time as I like, she's super supportive and understanding. They update the app often so I can see the pictures of my son doing his little activities. Infant 1 only has 2 teachers, so there was only 8 children. They had a system, somehow whenever, I come, it was nice and quiet, and the children look BIG, clean, and content. Their curriculum is great, they'd tell us what we are working on with our son so we can also implement at home also. We're going to have more children, and I'd send them here too so we can go through we their programs. I like how there are 200 acres of wood Park right behind the school so the children would get fresh air circulating around.

He is now in pre k with even more vetted teachers one of whom had been there since 86. Ms. Tucker is extremely hands on with her curriculum and we get updates as far as activities my son participated in. She challenges him to make him better with retaining his lessons. He has made friends and I'm able to see him active and engaged each day on the playground and in class. My son has sensory setbacks, so my fear was always leaving him alone and being away. Since having him there, I don't want him ANYWHERE else. Bobbie and Sarah are amazing Directors and have both been so so accommodating. All of those ladies are like family. It's really touching to me during a time when childcare is hard to come by and undervalued at times, they always ensure my little boy is okay. That he is learning and not left in the shadows or ostracized. I'm forever grateful for the staff there. Thank you all!! I Absolutely recommend as a phenomenal facility to send your child!

As first time parents it meant the world to us that we knew our baby was safe and well cared for. All of the staff (not only the infant teachers) were kind and wonderful! The facility is clean, safe, and educational. They have an app that keeps you up to date on your child's activity throughout the day. They send out announcements through the app and you can also pay for tuition through it. Although we aren't at this daycare anymore due to moving we still pop in to visit. We truly miss them! I would not recommend this daycare. Our experience was fine until moving to the 2 year old…read moreclassroom. In summary we experienced inaccurate information from the director, an abscense of supervision in the classroom that resulted in injuries, a lack of updates in the daily portal, and an overall lack of parent/teacher communication. We expressed concerns with the lack of structure in the classroom and behavior issues among several kids (ours included). We were told on various occasions "The 2 year old room is chaos" and "The staff is overwhelmed." We were also told our child is copying the other kids and just going through a phase by a teacher's assistant when we would check in. After multiple kids were placed on "behavior plans" (ours included) we were told our child hasn't shown enough improvement in behavior and we will need to leave with a week's notice. The very next day our child was pushed to the ground, climbed on and scratched all over his neck and face by another child. We were told the incident "Got rough, and the other child is on a behavior plans and was sent home for the day". We are at a new daycare and seeing their day to day operation, I am so impressed by how the classroom operates calmly and smoothly throughout the day. There is proper supervision in the classroom and we have not had any behavior issues with our child or any other child at our new school/classroom. There was no structure, leadership, guidance & supervision in the 2 year old classroom at Bundle of Joy.

The rates are about the same all the other centers in the area and they provide breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
