He discussed his ideas and he seemed like he was knowledgeable. He said he would draw up a plan and estimate and come back in a week. He was supposed to show up @10:30. I waited for about an hour and left texts and voicemails. Finally, a woman texted and said they would reach out to Jeff. I got a call back from his partner Joe who said Jeff was on the eastern end of LI. (I am in Lindenhurst, western L.I. Jeff 's company is in Lindenhurst). He said Jeff's truck broke down. I asked why someone didn't call and tell me that he was stuck. His partner said Jeff's phone died. Also, I asked Joe how he was able to call Jeff if Jeff's phone died. Joe replied that he used a walkie talkie. I asked why Jeff then didn't tell Joe on the walkie talkie to tell us he wasn't coming. My husband and I thought the excuse was weak. We made new arrangements for Jeff to bring plans & estimates for the following Friday but he never showed. That is after I sent a text with the date and time so he wouldn't forget and he never showed up the second time. Again I sent voicemail and texted and again I got no call back. I never got a chance to see what kind of work Jeff or Joe do but at the end of the day if someone can't give you the respect in returning your calls, if you do use them they won't come back if you have a problem. It does not matter how good their work is. Jeffs company had a 5 star review but I am learning that perhaps those reviews can come from friends and family. Remember there are so many landscapers on Long Island to choose from. I have to thank the JRS Landcare for showing me early on how ill mannered they are. Hopefully you get one that shows you curtesy and respect.
