If this gym were not so inconveniently located for those coming from downtown after work, I'd…read moreprobably still be going. I've only tried the CrossFit classes here, but they also offer various martial arts such as Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsu. The facility is divided between a very large floor mat sparring area, a full sized fighting octagon, and a functional fitness area for CrossFit (pull up bars, barbell racks, jumping boxes, etc.). The men's "change room" consists of a small semi-closed off cluster of lockers in the main gym area. The women have an actual room. Being located in an industrial park, there is plenty for parking. The CrossFit classes at this location differ from the others I have tried insofar as they tend to be consistently focused on constant high rep, high intensity intuitive exercises (e.g. box jumps, kipping pull ups, push up pyramids, crunches) and a few barbell moves. This is in contrast to some other CrossFits where you can spend a significant portion of a class working on developing a particular "functional" movement like a headstand, barbell combos, or some kettle bell manoeuvre. If you're looking for an efficient calorie burning, stamina building workout class you can dive into without much of a learning curve, try this place.

My teenage son just joined this gym. He took full advantage of the 7 day free trial. Which really…read morehelped him decide this was the place for him. From the first time he walked in the owner, Tim was so friendly and welcoming. I expected a bunch of crazy juice monkeys. Boy was I wrong. A big mix of people train here. Kids to grandmas and top athletes in between. Everyone has completely welcomed my son and encouraged him to stick with it. I'm excited to see my son progress and gain strength and stamina for his future in criminology. My son has taken advantage of their cross/cage fit classes in the morning. And his membership includes Jujitsu (or Muay Thai) which he'll start soon. We highly recommend this gym.

Soul Connection offers everything from dance to yoga, and with schedules that you can work around…read more I first inquired here because of the 'hot yoga' sign at the entrance of the strip mall. I've never been a huge yoga fan because I find it a little too slow and usually I get restless and hyper, but hot yoga seems to be different. There's something about sweaty like a cow that really adds to a work-out. Not only did I love the hot yoga session, but I really enjoyed the instructor. She seemed extremely knowledgeable about every pose she was doing and wasn't afraid to walk around and correct what we were doing wrong. I felt bad that she had to touch my sweaty-ass body, but I was happy she was helping me. Now that I've conquered the yoga class, next up is dance! They offer a couple different classes so I think it would be neat to give it a try. Each of their classes, yoga included, has a weekly schedule and drop-in options. Stop by and pick up a schedule because I'm sure something will match your availability... and price range.

Luckily, my two GFs convinced me to pick up a two week unlimited drop in class pass with them and try out all the yoga classes. From restorative to relaxation, you really have your pick! Power flow taught by Nicole on Thursdays got us hooked, we've been going to Soul for the better part of a year now. Nicole also teaches the Gentle Flow on Fridays, which is a $5 drop in class and a steal of a deal if you ask me! It's a great class to try if you're new to yoga and wanna see what yoga (and the studio!) is all about. The ladies at the reception desk are super friendly and helpful, and the teachers are pretty great - I know those are the two things that keep me coming back :)
