A great new studio! There is a great variety of classes and the staff is welcoming. Tash's spin class is always worth the trip!

I purchased a two week unlimited pass for $40 which I paid upfront on my VISA. To my knowledge, I did not authorize any further charges. I attended two classes immediately following the unlimited period (my mistake - I did not recall what day I completed my first class which started the 14 day countdown). I was then contacted by the studio advising me of an outstanding account. I responded within a few days asking for confirmation of the start/end day of the 14 day trial and the dates I attended classes (you can access this information on your account online but my log-in did not work). They responded nicely with the information and asked what I would "like to do" and stated that if I purchased one of their passes that I could apply the two classes I already completed to it (a fair deal and one that I intended to take). But, I had not got around to responding to that email when (7 days later) I received an email informing me that they had decided to just charge my VISA for the amount owing. This really ticked me off. In fairness to them, I was already tired and stressed after the work week. I responded (in haste) that I had not given them permission to charge my VISA and to refund it. They responded (5 days later) that if I wanted a refund, then I would have to come into the studio first and pay for the classes in cash. I do not dispute that they were owed the money they charged me and that I would need to pay it. I just don't condone service providers that take free rein in charging your credit card whenever they decide to for whatever amount they deem owing because they have your credit card number and think they can (insert their response where they tell you that there is some small print in some document that every client signs, that no client really knows is there and which permits them to do all of the above and more at their sole discretion, haha). Also, I took these classes in February. It is February 17th. This was not a situation involving some long overdue invoice that demanded immediate recourse.

Love this studio and it is free yoga week which I am really happy about because generally one yoga class is $20 which is really expensive! Foundation Flow Description Come for the basics- stay for the fun! This class is designed to break down key postures with an emphasis on alignment and breath! This is the PERFECT class for a new yogi- but is also a great well rounded class for an advance practitioner too! You can expect to move at a slower place in this class as we explore the postures! Yin Yoga Description Yin Yoga is a slow and mindful style of yoga. Students will hold poses between 3-5 minutes, allowing for a deep stretch and release in the muscles, fascia and tissue. Yin yoga increases circulation, improves flexibility, balances internal organs and calms the mind and body. The perfect practice before bed. Tuesday June 26th Today I am doing a core flow yoga class and yin yoga class both with Amanda Kelly! Yoga is still free for free yoga week! Core Flow Description This fiery flow class is designed to strengthen and target your CORE! Students will hold poses between 3-5 minutes, allowing for a deep stretch and release in the muscles, fascia and tissue. Yin yoga increases circulation, improves flexibility, balances internal organs and calms the mind and body. The perfect practice before bed. Wednesday June 27th Today I did a Hips and Hamstrings class as well as a Yin Yoga class both with Amanda Kelly again! Hips & Hamstrings Description This class is deigned to open your hips, your hammies, and leave you feeling like a brand new human! Did you know our hips are not only where we store a lot of physical tension, but also emotional as well!? This class is perfect for you if you are a runner, a spinner, have lower back pain- or just love to keep your hips happy. You can expect to move and flow in this class- as well as hold some postures as well! All levels are welcome. Yin Yoga Description Yin Yoga is a slow and mindful style of yoga. Yin yoga increases circulation, improves flexibility, balances internal organs and calms the mind and body. The perfect practice before bed. I like this place a lot but I find $20 for one drop in class to be expensive so I will probably only come when they have events or specials. Today- July 7th, 2018- they had a stampede breakfast which was absolutely delicious! They had yogurt with berries and apple cinnamon pancakes! Amazing!

The studio is bright and clean (it is brand new after all) and the spin studio had quite a few bikes, maybe 30, and a disco ball on the roof. The class was rocking! Morgan and Tash had great energy and had everyone shouting and sweating along to the beat. Since it was the opening night there was a live DJ for the spin class which was a fun addition and afterwards they popped some bubbly to celebrate. I have another class booked tonight and look forward to visiting a great new studio that's close to home.

I activated one month and used it classes were great. Then I decided to take a month off as i assumed I could then activate my second month anytime. I received a call from someone to notify me of a new promotion as my membership was coming to an end. This was a shock as nowhere In The agreement of the membership does it mention that membership months run congruently. I had asked if someone could call me back to tell me where it said this or give me information on this, and was told I would get that info. Nobody called me. I was then called at the beginning of March by someone else to tell me that I had a 1 month membership which was inactivated, again shocked because I was told I didn't have this. I now look on my account and it shows the one month expires in April which is another shock as I never activated it. This is EXTREMELY frustrating as I was given the wrong information and would have used my second month if I knew it was available. originally my account did not show an expiry date. I have called a couple of times and left a message and have not received a call back. I am not happy with my service and do not recommend going here based solely on the poor communication and lack of information about the terms and conditions of their memberships and the fact that the staff has no idea what's going on!

The staff that work at the front and some fitness instructors are condescending and others 'seem' overly nice from a distance as if they are trying to cover their tracks. The childcare room is the size of a walk in closet and they squish in 10+ kids from age 0-12 mixed together with only two staff members to direct the chaos. I have overheard management talking with the childcare staff and it is pure disrespect to the ladies watching our kids. They do their best having little to work with and like almost everyone working there, are clearly under valued. I have asked the ladies questions about this and they refuse to talk about it in fear of getting fired. To overhear management belittle their employees and 'coach' them in a way that sounds more like verbal abuse and harassment deters me completely from this facility. They have great retail, products and classes but something is very wrong here. The employers are not demonstrating a family within Oranj Fitness or any kind of genuine love, support or acceptance. They seem to only want to profit from their business. You shouldn't have to tell authority members to be humane and to treat everyone including the staff with respect and care. There is no need to mistreat and obsessively control your staff.

The trainers are extremely knowledgeable, approachable and genuinely have a passion for what they do. Tasneem, the owner, personally greeted me and took the time to welcome me to the studio on my first day. All the trainers I have met know me by name. The music is always great and general ambiance is unlike any other studio I've been to (I've tried multiple spin studios, barre studios, boxing studios etc). They offer a range of workout classes at different times during the day that are incredibly effective. You are guaranteed to walk out feeling amazing after every class. The classes are small which allows the trainers to give you personal tips and correct your form if needed. To me, this really set Square1 apart because I feel like they actually care that I am doing everything the right way which has helped me maximize my workout. Sometimes, it felt like a personal training session (esp when classes are smaller). Their attention to detail is remarkable. As you progress, the trainers will also suggest personal modifications. I love that they are able to gage wether you should increase weight/intensity because they actually pay attention to your progress over time. Although, the space is on the smaller side, it does not feel cramped and is kept very clean. I love how this studio feels so different than other 'boutique studios' - nothing pretentious, fussy, or "extra" about this place. If you are looking for an amazing full body strength workout and/or would like to try kickboxing - THIS IS THE BEST STUDIO IN THE CITY!!!!!! I'll stop now but I really could go on and on and on...

I work downtown so I literally yelped which yoga location would be closest to my place of employment in hopes to frequent the studio after work a couple days per week. I'm so glad that Yoga passage came up in my phone -I really lucked out. The first time I showed up the staff were super friendly and helpful and I signed up for the 4 week unlimited pass for $40. Over the course of the 4 weeks I've managed to attend 8 yoga classes making this pass so worthwhile at $5 a class. The classes are packed, and everyone is so focused on bettering their practice; it's refreshing. The instructors are fantastic, I love yoga because it's a great workout but I also really enjoy the mental/spiritual side of it. I think the instructors do a great job of helping you let go of your day and really help you accept and love yourself. If you are feeling down or having a bad day you should check out a yoga class! There are so many times I don't feel like dragging my butt to yoga but I'm always so grateful that I did. Seriously you guys, this place is the best.

It has a central location downtown, but be warned it has about 8 parking spots, so try parking nearby instead or you may be late for class. I figured if I went once a week that would pay for my pass over time, but I became addicted. Grranted, it took 5 months for that to happen, but the benefits are worth it, especially if you're tired. Henna is one of the most wonderful teachers I've had. She is the type of person who raditates kindness, and positivity, and can uplift you to enjoy the class, even through the tough parts. I recommend being up to 30 minutes early, and classes - especially hers - get busy fast. If you don't have a mat, you can rent one for $1. Now for the things that they don't mention about yoga class: - You will be getting close to others, sometimes to the point of touching, so if you can't accept that, don't go. -The smell - the room is warm, and the sweat smell will cling to your towel and mat. Sometimes you may have other people's sweat on your mat too - yum yum! - Loud noises - Some grunt, or breathe heavily (all part of the practice) try not to focus on it. Oh, and passing gas...there's a lot of that unfortunately. So far, I have yet to experience a 'death fart', phew! - the 'sights' - immodest clothing, odd sweat stains, weird positions, all normal. The point is to not worry about others, and what they're doing and simply focus on yourself. Have fun, and most importantly BREATHE.
