I found a great website and we learned the history of Persian coffee and how it differs from Arabic coffee. All of this while sitting in what otherwise looks like a traditional small-town Idaho bar - with Kenny Roger's playing in the background as we walked in. We almost turned around and are glad we didn't. Instead of a quick coffee, we slowed down, savored the unique flavors and learned that early coffee houses called qahveh khaneha arose in what is now Iran - where folks gathered to discuss philosophy, politics and maybe play a game of chess.
