I was informed my bag would not be accepted because it was "well loved." Staff commented that it was "dirty" and "overstuffed." They informed me they could not honor the warranty without sending pictures to headquarters. The defective areas were not wear spots. It is where the piping and exterior finish material come together, which are not points of tension. The fabric was likely cut too short in the manufacturing process which allowed it to pull through the stitching and fray along the edge. The bag was in the footwell of my vehicle and got dirty with the normal happenings of a family ski trip, and took a quick wipe to return to its normal condition, not relevant to the manufacturing defect. Upon clarification, staff confirmed not all warranty claims need to be confirmed with HQ, just the ones they decide to send to HQ. The manager was contacted by phone and approved the warranty exchange only after I pressed the imposed verification policy, which seemed excessive.

I checked out the turquoise jewelry, the Canada-made objects, and the deer/moose leather shoes. I bought a pair of deer/moose leather ballet slippers. They run a size big (I wear size 10, so I bought a 9) because they will stretch! My friend bought an animal pelt. They sell lots of animal furs, and some of them cannot leave Canada. The customer service is great. Check it out if you're in town!

My dear wife and I decided to…read morerekindle our relationship with Marmot's powder this year and given that my gear was long since given away, I was put into the unenviable position of renting equipment. "Unenviable" because my rental shop memories were of poorly set up, beat-to-hell ancient skis and boots that kind of, sort of fit. No longer. Strolling down Connaught Drive we decided to step into "Skis Please" and were immediately met with a friendly, enthusiastic staff. A quick glance at their boot rack revealed that this shop doesn't lend out garbage: the Rossignol Alias 100 boots were 2015 models and are considered "performance" equipment (an assessment I'll wholeheartedly agree with!). The skis were equally modern: no double-plank wanks here: proper convex hourglasses for all levels of skier are available, and all are in good kit. The tech who set up both our downhill and cross-country sets gets a special thank you from us: despite a constant flow of renters, she took the time to ensure we had perfectly fitting gear (again, the boots were better and more comfortable than anything I raced with 20+ years ago) and everything was set up flawlessly. Having great gear to rent is important, and "Skis Please" has that more than covered but even more critical is a great staff, and everyone we dealt with at the shop fit this criteria and more. They were efficient, friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. As of now we won't consider any other rental outlet when we're in Jasper. Thanks, SP!

I then requested a 2nd sample which I broke into 3 pieces and shared it with my 2 partners. we committed to purchase one of the samples tried and bought approx $7 worth of fudge paying cash. when I asked for a 3rd sample to try a different flavor , I was told its one sample per person. and we did have 3 people and only 2 samples had been served. I reminded her that we were 3 people and she had only given samples. we left the counter and were looking for jade/rocks. I went back to the counter and asked the lady why she denied me the 3rd sample - on what grounds ? . In other words I was asking her to apologize but she would not and said she would give me another free sample . I told her the purpose of my asking her why she did not offer a 3rd sample was not to get one but to determine if she discriminates vs people of a different color/race . She was furious and refused to answer my question. I will never visit this place ever.

What a nice surprise! There's also, of course, lots of gemstones, jewelry and a little tourist kitsch, as well as some really cute little gifts like handmade ornaments. It was just a quick stop-in on the way back home, but I'll definitely be stopping by this neat little shop the next time we visit Jasper.
