I came to…read moreLe Troubadour at the very start of their lunch service. Despite the fancy atmosphere, the lunch special is a good deal at 17 euros for an appetizer/main or main/dessert.
I started with the onion soup, which was easily the saddest onion soup I've had in France. The flavor was good, but it just had some shredded cheese sprinkled on the top, not bruleed as advertised on the menu.
For my main course, I had the roast duck. I ordered it medium, but it was totally overcooked and tough, with no pink inside at all. It made me feel bad that a duck lost its life just to be overcooked. The duck was beautifully presented, though, with a side of carrots, mashed veggies, and a mini mushroom crepe on the side. The sides were easily the best part of the meal.
Service was good, and I liked the wine that I had. Sadly, I wouldn't go back because of the food quality.
