Came here around 12:40am and they weren't open yet. Saw a couple also traveling from the US waiting for it to open. Yelp says they open at 12pm but they actually open at 1 so be mindful when you come. Pepperoni pizza was great with a tiny bit of spice to it however I think it's a tiny bit too salty for my liking. The seafood pasta was also delicious but also a bit salty for my US taste buds. You can ask for less salt. It I forgot that day. The lady that served us was super nice and tried her best to take out orders in English. Over all not bad do definitely recommend this place. read more

Ordered the carbonara and the Bilbao pizza- the carbonara was pretty light and simple which is what we wanted. The pizza flavor was great but the pizza itself was very floppy. This is a great place to go before or after going to the Guggenheim museum. It's about a ~7 minute walk from the museum--we went around 3:30pm and had to wait 10 minutes for a table but it was worth it! TO NOTE: this place is technically called Francis Ford And is right next door to Coppola's--the servers said the restaurant is the same thing. The cuisine is Italian, they have tons of pizza choices and a good amount of pastas, salads, and risottos. We got the Criolla Pizza and Blanca Pizza which was great for three hungry people. We even had some leftovers! The Criolla was especially good with mushrooms, almonds, and creole sausage! It did say there was truffle oil on the pizza which we did not taste. Instead they do provide complimentary chili oil that was amazing to drizzle on top of the pizzas! Waitstaff was friendly and spoke some good English. The restaurant is a bit nicer than casual, although we didn't dress up at all. I think they are used to tourists! read more

My husband and I came by for an early dinner and had the burrata and primavera pizza for dinner and we enjoyed both. The primavera was an interesting combination of toppings (arugula, apples, walnuts) which I was intrigued by and liked although I'm not sure that it would be a hit with everyone. The crust had a really nice thin and slightly chewy/slightly crispy consistency. We also had the bread as a starter which I also really enjoyed. After reading the Yelp reviews, my wife and I decided we would give it a try. The ambiance is very nice. The wait staff was wonderful and the food was amazing. We started with the bread and olive oil which was very good. I had the lasagna which I could not finish (and I'm a 220 pounder with an appetite that matches my size). It was absolutely wonderful. Plenty of meat and cheese. Very tasteful. My wife had the Capone spaghetti which she really enjoyed. We arrived early and was seated with no problem, but if you eat late, I would suggest making a reservation as seating is limited. Thanks to Google, we ended up at a location with Coppola signage but an empty shell of a restaurant. Luckily, we happened to walk another block the opposite direction of the Guggenheim and my wife saw the sign for the newer Coppola restaurant. We walked into the restaurant and were asked for reservations. We didn't have any, but the waitress said we could stay if we can finish our meal within an hour, before the locals with reservations came in. We like fast service anyway, so it worked for us. We shared an order of Morenquina pizza and a salad. I wish I could remember the name of the salad because it was a damn rockstar. The salad had fresh homemade ricotta cheese, walnuts and and amazing raspberry sauce. The Ricotta and raspberry together made its own dressing - adding any of your usual dressing would simply ruin the salad. We contemplated returning again just because of this salad prior to leaving the next day. The pizza was also great. The tomato sauce was freshly made, seemingly from scratch at the restaurant. I really liked the pizza - my wife was slightly disappointed at the lack of crispiness of the pie, but we both agreed it was still one of the best meals we had on our European trip. read more

Look. I don't know much about international travel, so I've been having some difficulty with finding good places. I happened to run across the posting for Coppola and my hotel happened to be close. The guy asked if I had a reservation. I look around at the empty tables and wondered why. Minutes later, a ton of people strolled in. So I ordered the safe lasagne. I will tell you, this was some of the best lasagne that I've ever had. I was so good that I started getting upset because my belly was getting full. My wife had the margarita pizza and refused to let me carry the box as we walked back to the hotel for fear that I would eat a slice. Really enjoyed the pizza. But the stench of cigarette smoke wafting through the air was horrible. Yes, smoking inside Spanish establishments is now banned. But that didn't stop every bar tender, waiter and 99% of the patrons (me and my hubs were the 1% in this situation, ha) from stepping just outside the OPEN door to suck poison into their lungs and blow cancer causing fumes into the restaurant.
