I've worked with Copies at Carson twice this year and they were wonderful both times! The quality is great and I think their prices are fair. The first time, I just needed some flyers printed. I was able to walk in and use their self service station, and the folks working were super helpful in making sure my flyers looked correct. They had a paper cutter, scissors, staplers, etc. available for anyone to use which was great as well. The second time, I was looking to have trifold brochures and business cards printed. I submitted a quote request through their website and quickly received a response. Whoever I was emailing with was extremely helpful with decided which kind of paper I needed and was patient as I made various adjustments to my request to stay within budget for the project. Within 2 days, my materials were ready for pick up and looked great. I definitely recommend Copies At Carson and will use them in the future for any printing needs! read more

They do all my photo printing... vacation trips, .grandchildren, fish, ducks and old photo albums which are falling apart. All pretty, actual or adjusted color done with great care. I've used several different options when it comes to getting copies and things printed and bound. This place is by far the best. Every sales person knows exactly how to handle the tasks I've presented to them, and it's done quickly at an affordable price. A very different experience than the name brand big box store options, and I love the fact that this is a local business that clearly is doing well. If you need something printed, from vinyl banners, things on gator foam, simple copies - this is the place to go. Parking is a little dicey but it's worth the trip and any parking hassle. I don't know how many people on Yelp land look for places to get high quality large print jobs for photos, but I am just getting into printing out my photography that I tirelessly work on because I am a big photography nut. Well, I just used Copies for a small run of my shots. I thought that they looked good, but a bit on the dark side. That is until I went home and actually looked at the originals on my computer and did side by side comparisons with their prints. The ones on my computer were bright, brilliant and tons of detail. The prints however are way too dark and missing quite a bit of detail. Some of the colors were problematic as well, which afterwards Don explained to me was because I did the colors in RGB mode and not CMYK. I should have known this, but it kind of would have helped if Don, or someone else would have mentioned that prior to the printing process(or, at any point in the process really). The problem with Copies At Carson is their communication. They don't say anything to you. It's like pulling teeth to get them to talk. Also, the boss was in a pissy mood and he gave off quite a bit of attitude which I felt was unnecessary. Right now there is construction on East Carson and the only place to park around there is on 14th and 15th Streets(side streets), so it is pretty dicey trying to park. Also, you have to walk down the block because there is a big fence on the side walk which sucks. While I used to like getting things printed here I will not go there again for printing my photography. I need people who will tell me, hey, if you want these to look like the originals you need to do this, or it might be helpful if you do that. That is all I am asking, which is not too much I think. read more

I email them what I need printed, they send back a detailed price quote and previews (if needed) and the job is done sometimes within a few hours. Color printer was down for maintenance; could not provide me with a concrete turnaround time. No problem, I understand that this happens. What irked me was that they refused to recommend any other printing service in the Pittsburgh area, citing "conflict of interest." Be professional! I used office max because it's near my new house when I moved I lost being by Southside I'm in plum now and they couldn't get my invitations right at Office max. Easy breezy! I needed something printed and fast! I called to get the info since I'm usually more comfortable talking with someone about the process person to person than just submitting something. From start to finish the service here was stellar. Everyone was super nice and helpful when I spoke with them and had questions. You submit your file online and then they'll call with an estimate. They called me shortly after to confirm everything and then called me a couple hours later when it was done. I was so pleased with their service I used them for a bigger job later on. Second time I used them I had them print off posters and postcards. I had no clue how to do this and they helped me choose the kind of paper and cut. It looked beautiful when I picked them up two days later. They were nice and glossy and cut perfectly. The price wasn't bad, although I don't have a lot to compare it to. I worked with the staff at Copies at Carson to design and print my save the dates and wedding invitations and could not be happier with the results and service! I had a really good sense of what I wanted the save the dates to look like, and within 15 minutes the staff put together a quick proof of the card for me. They even ordered special "plantable" paper with flower seeds in it for me. I should note that we communicated about the special paper before our meeting via email, and they had ordered it right away. I was unsure of how I wanted the invitations to look, so the staff sat down with me with example-invites, books and my Pinterest account. They offered their own design suggestions as well. They helped me pick a beautiful invitation, RSVP, directions, menu and program look, and I can't wait to see the final results. The staff responds to emails very quickly and had answers to all my etiquette and printing questions. It was easy to schedule a face to face meeting as well. They are extremely knowledgeable and have great design taste. After our meeting, I decided I wanted to change the placement of the text/images on the save the date cards, and they got back to me that same day with the updated proof. Initial impression: I submitted my odd request through their website, uploading my file. Wayyyyy more clear-cut and easy than staples mess of a website. Within 7 minutes, someone called me back to confirm things, and within another 10 I had my proof via email which was perfect. She also quoted me the cost over the phone. Very reasonable!! I am in anesthesia school, so every precious spare second is spent with my nose in a book, so this was a HUGE time-saver for me. She also stated my project would be ready that night... More like, "RIPOFF @ CARSON"...! I went in to get 1 (one) b/w copy off a thumb drive. Not laser or color, a lousy copy-paper print. They charged me $2.50 telling me it was for "setup". Let me get this straight, you plug the drive in the usb slot, the computer shows you a window asking if you wish to see what in on the drive, say 'yes' it displays my single file and then all they have to do is right-click it and choose the correct printer. Oh my god some setup, i think i got setup... Total robbery, everything they do is like 200% more than their competitors. As the other review here states, "they won't even give you another place to go if they can't do the job" because when you see how much they are looking to rip you off, you'll give them the bird. Have been nothing but pleased with them lately. The staff is very friendly and everything is done quickly and efficiently.

If you want service with a smile, don't go here. These guys all seem asleep on the job and uninterested in providing any type of customer service. I went to the shop to take a look at paper weight and asked their opinion on the best paper to use for an invitation. They handed me a book and basically walked away - so forget about consultation of anything. I emailed in my print job and they sent back a proof. When I responded with edits, I didn't hear back for a few hours, and then I got a message saying my print job was ready. After taking the time to drive around the Southside to find parking and then waiting in line to pick up my order, I was disappointed to see that they had printed off the original proof (and on some sort of giant flimsy postcard with the invitation on one side and the addresses on the other - not sure how they thought that made sense, and especially when my email clearly talked about printing envelopes, etc.). So they said they would fix it and reprint, but offered very little apology for the inconvenience. So two hours later, I finally was able to pick up the print job. I thought I would give them a second chance, mostly because a friend had reccommended them and I thought maybe the previous mishap was just a fluke. Unfortunately, the second time I tried to use them, they never responded to my email. I was near the shop and stopped in to follow up and they told me they couldn't print the project for me (addressing envelopes) because my envelopes were the wrong size. The sleepy sales clerk was answering me in as few words as possible and when I asked if there was anyone else I could go to for this job, or what my alternatives were, he just said "I don't know." While customer service is obviously not their speciality, I guess I was hoping printing was and maybe they could say, "we have these other envelopes," or "you can use labels." Instead, I cancelled my order and left. If you want anyone to take a moment to walk through options with you, go somewhere else because these guys are strictly here to hit print. read more

This time I worked with Kerrie who was a Pro with all the details of my project- double-sided printing, multiple colors of ink, collating, special paper...etc., Kerrie went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the final product. I am extremely dissatisfied with this business and its quality printing. I went in there and explained to the person at the desk that I have never been in there before and I wasn't sure what to do. I told him all I needed was a photo print printed. He just looked at me like okay... I said I'm sorry I usually get my prints printed through a photo company online and I've never been there before so I wasn't sure what to do (yes I repeated myself) I had a USB so He sent me to the computer to print what I needed. I still was confused because he gave no further suggestions or guidance or information on the process. The sign above the computer said each print was 29 cents each or something close to that being extremely cheap. I go and follow the printing directions next to the computer for COLOR. File,canon color,size,print. I go up to the counter and she brings me a sheet that's black and white. It's literally a terrible quality photo printed on printer paper. Here I am assuming that the computers are sending information to print a photo print on photo paper because 1. That's what I told the person at the counter I needed and he didn't tell me otherwise and 2. The sign on the computer said prints. After explaining how dissatisfied I was in both communication and quality of the the "color" print that ended up being black and white which by the way wasn't even nicely printed, it was splotchy and terrible, I tell her she can just throw the paper away, it was that terrible that I definitely wasn't going to be using for anything. I still ended up having to pay for it which ended up being close to $2.50!!!!!! I was already displeased with everything but in my mind I thought hey, at least I was pretty much going to be wasting a quarter....NO! The person at the front desk failed to tell me there was a computer rental and it cost to even use the computer to send to the printers. At this point I was livid and probably sounded like the biggest bitch, but in this scenario they should have been understanding to the miscommunication on their part and just let me walk out without paying. If I would have known it was going to be printed on printer paper and in that quality I could have just printed it at home. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Period. I hate feeling like I was a total bitch to someone but that place definitely made me very upset, and over a freaking photo that was printed on paper.... if that tells you anything. Copies at Carson is a great option for all your printing needs. I have used them for various things and been very satisfied with the results. They printed the save the dates for our wedding and did a great job. The process was super easy- I submitted the image, size, and paper selection online through their website. The next day I got an email from them with a proof and a quote. After I approved it and submitted a deposit, they had the save the dates ready within two days. I have also printed photos and maps there and it has always been very easy, with good service and reasonable prices. Normally you submit your file online and respond to some questions, and then they contact you when your order is ready. They also have self service computers there for printing smaller jobs. I referred to Copies at Carson for an event that I founder. I have extremely limited experience with graphic design, layouts, etc. The staff was FANTASTIC will helping me determine what needed to be done as well as using images that I had and creating original designs. I had several items printed: flyers, registration posters, and a large banner. I am very impressed with the product/results and have kept returning for my annual event. I must say that the banner is by far my favorite. They beautiful created a banner that has survived the elements for 2 years, stores well, and has a crisp image.
