Coopers Landing sunset
Gregory L.

Enjoyed the beautiful weekend. Mike greeted us and showed us our camping site which was right next to the stage where we enjoyed the wonderful music that was playing every day while we were there. They were serving up cold beer and delivered firewood to our fire pit. Enjoyed our campfire and sunsets. Look forward to returning. Thanks to Michael, Patrick and staff. KCAttaboy

BEWARE..... cyclist move on!! Such a terrible experience and I don't want anyone else treated this way especially out of towners/staters trying to enjoy the Katy Trail. ****read photo review

Tractor and gas can. Nice

I feel like this was a scene from a Charlie Chaplain movie! Honestly, it's almost unreal. But I took pics, to prove it! This campground has so much potential, if ran better. I guess there's been changes since 2019. I understand stress of having a business right now,, but there's no excuse for this. This campground is located on a beautiful spot next to Mo River. But it is so disorganized, and the staff i came in contact was dismissive and rude. And not to mention, they apparently thought that $20 per night, per tent, was not worthy of our own site- we had to share it with the work area, and farm equipment!! We were a larger party. We paid for 2 campers, and 7 tents. We were told we couldn't park our cars at our site, just unload. They showed us where to camp, and we began to unload and set up camp. 1st fella told us we needed to move our vehicles by 6p, or they would be towed! We had plenty of time, in not sure why the threat to tow, but we agreed. Then, after we got 4 tents up, 2nd fella in overalls rolls up in a TRACTOR. He pulled up to our tents, and started yelling at the 1st fella, saying he told him, we needed to leave a path between the tents- for him to drive the tractor thru! The 1st fella shrugs his shoulders and says, "they didn't listen". Seriously!? He didn't tell us that. He never said anything about leaving an open path through OUR PAiD CAMPSITE. And what kind of campground do you have to leave a path for them to drive a tractor between your tents and belongings!? But we were shocked, and didn't know what else to do. We moved the tent to make room for the official campground tractor. We got the rest of tents set up. But as we were setting up, and he got his required tractor path, they yank out the CHAINSAW, and start cutting wood! Well obviously, we were in their way, so just to make effort to be considerate, we hurried and got our cars moved. So the entire drive was clear all way to our camping area ( AND work area). I walked up to fella #2 overalls, and said, "ok, we got our cars out of the way, can we put the tent back? Since you have room to drive it down the drive?" His reply, "NO! I need a circle path". And walked away. I said, "you can't back up the tractor?" He's walking away, and says, "I'm not going to argue with you". So I'm shocked at this comedy routine going on, I say, that's ok then, ill just leave a review. At which point he runs around and comes storming back after me, and says, "you can leave. Just get your stuff and go, and we will give you a refund". Well, i just ignored him. I wasn't going anywhere. We had already set up camp, and our plans were to jump on Katy trail to ride the next day. This was a battle I wasn't going to win. Customer service, and our money meant nothing, so we had to tough it out the couple times they joined our camp, and drove tractor thru, and cut wood with chainsaw. But as promised, I am sharing our experience! Fyi. 1 member of group chose not to stay with us, he had read bad reviews and decided to stay in town. But he didn't share with us the bad reviews from another site. Our fault for not looking. The bike ride, and the food trucks at campsite was awesome. So was the entertainment. Too bad they feel they can treat people like crap, and we should feel lucky they even let us set up camp in their workshop! Lol. Be sure to zoom in on the pics. You will see the tractor between our tents, and the hard working chainsaw action! Notice the gas can on the tractor. Of course that tipped over and dumped gasoline we smelled while the tractor was there. Still a fun weekend, but probably won't stay there again.

Was visiting out of town for work and wanted to find a relaxing spot for sunset on the river. Went on a Wednesday. Lots of seating on the grounds. Great atmosphere! They had a Tex mex food truck that day along with a solo singer/guitarist on stage.

"Paddle faster. I hear banjos." Well, Cooper's Landing is not quite that bad, but this gnarly little outpost on the Missouri River will make you think you're a long, long way from civilization. Wait, is Columbia, Missouri considered civil? This long-time Jayhawker is not so sure. Part ill-stocked hillbilly convenience store with surly staff, part-time Thai (you read that right) restaurant with inconsistent hours, Missouri River boat dock and a place to park your car while you're diving onto the famed Katy Trail, it serves its purpose. And I'll be here in the near future for part one of a two-day 32 mile hike on the trail coupled with an overnight staff in a lush B&B with a winery/restaurant nearby. Oh yes, and stroll a mere quarter of a mile north of Cooper's Landing and you'll be at the site of the infamous "Boathenge." See my photo. Only in Missouri. Love it! So looking forward to this beautiful Katy Trail hike. Wonder if I should bring bow and arrows?

Great place for a nice breeze off the Missouri river and Thai food. Sunset was gorgeous during our night out.

A strange place with abandoned rvs and other dilapidated trailers. Go to Cottonwood RV Park instead.

We are not from the area or even the same state so we were not with the in crowd. They were more than happy to take our reservation and money, and when we arrived, we saw a very cute camp office and store. We traveled past nice clean grassy campsites and according to their site they have activities and amenities. When we checked in, we were given nothing, no information, map, directions nothing but we were told to follow the lady in the golf cart it is a large turn to get into the site. We followed all the way through the campground past the nice open sites, a pool and playgrounds for her to come to another road and she stopped in the middle of the road as soon as she turned. Very confused my husband got out of the truck for her to tell him this is your site. We are parked in the middle of the gravel road next to box trailers in storage and broken tables from other sites. There was a gazebo in the middle of the grass area that edged the road. It has a ring doorbell camera pointed directly at our "site". Our camper was boxing in other campers that had wooded sites on the edge. They physically could not move their rigs if they had to because we were in the road. According to their website and reviews they have activities, offer breakfast, and it is a great place to make memories. We would not know, paid to camp on the road in their storage, on rocks, with hook-ups.
