Mediocre accommodations.

We stayed here last night for a graduation at mizzou and would recommend wearing the earplugs they provide on the main level. It's an old building with squeaky floors that can be heard all night long from the guests above us. We were in the Dick and Jane room. The free Wi-Fi service was sketchy. The chocolate chip cookies had a nice texture, but not much taste. The breakfast was mediocre, nothing spectacular. Checkout was at 11am and by then all of the coffee and to go cups were promptly put away. I will not return.

We have stayed at the School House B&B several times over the last several years. And as usual, we had a wonderful visit! The rooms in the historic school house are charming and comfortable, the innkeepers, Lisa and Mike, are friendly and informative, and the breakfast is always delicious. We will be back again soon!!

Because I'm four years old at heart, we had to stay in the boxcar on our recent Katy Trail bike ride. Location wise? Perfection. You can see the trail, you're right next to the best stop along the trail (Meriwether Cafe & Bike Shop), and right by the famous Rocheport tunnel. It's wonderful. The outside is cool too because there's a hammock and a small porch, but inside is really cool as well. Old wood floors, two loft beds and a standard queen bed. Water is potable, there's a bathroom and a shower and it's what you need. The A/C runs nice and cold and that was perfect for us on our return trip over the 4th of July. The other thing of note is that bikes aren't allowed inside, and they offer a little shed for them. Traveling by bike means that it's the most important piece of our trip and while Rocheport is a super calm, idyllic, safe place, it's still hard to just trust leaving our bikes in a shed... or at least for me to shake my city mindset of leaving a bike out. *UPDATE* We re-booked this to come as a family and it was a stellar experience. The A/C worked so well on a hot day, the hammock was relaxing and we had fireworks going off nearby. We left our bikes out, including our bike trailer and everything was fine. Love this unique spot right on the Katy, and highly recommend booking it and relaxing with the easy-going flow in Rocheport.

Great shared kitchen and living space; laundry available. Make your own breakfast if you want more than a continental-type set, though. Two adjoining rooms on ground floor could use better sound insulation b/w (seal up the old doorway!). Big yard with hammock, patio, etc., to enjoy. Easy walk to shops and places to eat. We really liked this place on our long bike ride on the Katy!

We don't do a lot of Bed and Breakfasts. This weekend we were greatly in need of a getaway. My…read morewife located and booked us a room with a king size bed since I'm a big guy. The room came with a private bath. The owner met us on arrival and got us checked in. We got a little history on the place. We got some ideas about where we could get some supper. Later we wandered down to the river and enjoyed seeing it at night. Back at the B&B I heated some water and had some lovely caffeine free raspberry tea. The owner apologized that really the only TV was Roku... But we never used it because we came to get away from all that and just chill. Well the Wi-Fi worked fine. (We weren't wanting totally cut off from the world.). This building qualifies as very historic. The air conditioning worked perfect. The drive here was scenic and fun along the rolling and curving road. The price was very reasonable. The decor is well matched to the building. The atmosphere is cosy. The rooms are huge. I've had apartments that were smaller. The table and chairs and couch were nice. There was an in room pot to heat water for coffee or tea. Breakfast at 830 was fruit with yogurt and granola, a very nice/tasty quiche, juice, and cinnamon bread. While the location is not far from some wineries and other activities, it is also slightly remote. If you don't mind being in a quiet small town and can spend time talking or reading... This might be the place for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I can't say for sure if we'll ever get back, or when that might possibly be... But I can say... We certainly would love the chance to spend some more time here. Staying here Friday night was exactly the experience we were needing and hoping for.
