Three of us took the Delmar Loop food tour with our guide Tracey. First I would like to say Tracey…read morewas a wonderful guide with so much knowledge of the area. She told us the history of the loop, what's currently going on and what's up and coming. We could not have asked for a better guide. The food is important but having a good guide I think is equally important. Tracey went above and beyond. We loved her. Five stars for Tracey. Now on to the food. I will list what where we stopped and rate each individual place. SALT AND SMOKE- OMG THE BEST PLACE ON THE TOUR. They gave us brisket and Mac -n- cheese( which they just won an award for) I live on the East Coast and we are not known for good BBQ but being a foodie I do know good food and this place was slammin! The brisket was the best I've ever had and so was the Mac-n-cheese made with some ritz crackers on top. The manager was very friendly and welcoming. They showed us the smokers up close which was very cool. They have 4 different sauces to try all made in house and all delicious. Liked it so much we are going back for dinner. PI PIZZA- Being from the East Coast, New Haven, home of world famous Sally's and Pepe's Pizza I have high standards for pizza. This pizza was not what I'm used to but enjoyed trying it anyway. They served a small pizza for the 3 of us which is extremely generous on a food tour! SHAWARMA KING- kind of a dive place for college kids, kind of while in the wall place. Chicken schwarma was tasty and falafel was average. Owner wasn't talkative or friendly but that's ok. I would eat here if a broke college kid or drunk at 2am but not a place for a first date SEOUL TACO- Korean taco joint. We had a beef taco which was delicious and kimchi rice that was also good. I would go back to this place for sure. PICCIONE PASTRY- they gave each of us a gooey butter cake canoli. St. Louis is famous for gooey butter cake if u didn't know. The cannoli was filled to order and was very good. Very sweet but very good. The tour was about $55 a person and was well worth it. I've been on other food tours across the country and this one gave us the most food for our money. I've been to others where we left hungry but not here! If you take this tour at 11 am like we did I suggest you do not eat breakfast! I would definitely recommend this tour if you are visiting St Louis both for the food and to learn the history. Lastly, the picture attached to my review is for Tracey. We ran into this famous guy as we entered our hotel right after our tour. We wished Tracey was still with us when we met him. Tracey we hope you see this picture and if the company sees this review please show Tracey the pic! Thanks!

We learned a little more about the area, the restaurants and of course the food. The food was great and abundant. Make sure you come hungry because you will eat a lot. I would definitely recommend Savor Saint Louis Food Tours and will be going back to try there other tours. Thanks Steve C.

The woman that waited on us was very friendly and we were in and out in less than hour as we were trying to make the 12:30 tour so that made us happy. The tour was free and very interesting. We learned some very interesting things we had no idea about. I would recommend it if you are in the area.

Several other couples who arrived around the same time were welcomed immediately, but we were left standing there without any acknowledgment. It was uncomfortable and made us feel overlooked in a way no quest should experience. I can't say why we were treated differently, but the contrast was hard to ignore. Because of the lack of attention, we ended up buying only a few bottles- even though we originally planned to purchase two full cases. We also chose not to buy anything from the stores afterward, which is unusual for us, but the experience at the beginning made it difficult to fully appreciate the visit. For a winery with such a strong reputation, I expected a much more welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This was a one- star experience for us, and we won't be returning.

I feel lucky to have had Michael Lear as our guide, he was absolutely brilliant and was a stellar storyteller! The prison itself is very interesting, has alot of history behind it and honestly a little chilling. Hearing about its dark history really makes you stop, think about life and human existence. The parts about solitary confinement and how tiny the cells were with several people stuffed in were especially shocking. Michael even took us down to the basement solitary area and turned off the lights for a full minute so we could feel what it was like. That part gave me chills. We also got to see the prison cells from the 1800s all the way up to more recent ones, and even the gas chamber. It was intense but very eye-opening. I highly recommend this tour 1000%! And if you are lucky enough to have Michael as your guide, you're in for something fascinating. He also has a Missouri murder history podcast which is definitely worth checking out and supporting - It is called Show Me Murder. To conclude, thanks MSP for such an unforgettable experience!

I was lucky enough to do the full eight hour overnight investigation, which means about 40 to 50 people with near free rein over three massive prison buildings in the middle of the night. Most of the time was spent breaking into small groups and exploring the grounds looking for paranormal activity, and for me that meant just me and one friend wandering dark cell blocks and corridors that felt completely abandoned. This is absolutely not for the faint of heart because there are long stretches where you truly feel alone, surrounded by silence, shadows, and your own racing thoughts. There were plenty of spine chills, more than a few moments where I questioned my life choices, and by the end of the night I walked out a full believer. It was intense, unforgettable, and easily one of the most fascinating and highly recommended adventures I have ever done.

I stayed here for a conference and it was decent for hotel standards these days…read more Attendant that checked me in was very accommodating as I asked for a room with a bathtub and also to be away from noise. I walked in right when tons of school-age kids were gathering and looked like they might have been in town for a game and all staying at the hotel. I have no issues with this. I just would like to not be disturbed as I am a light sleeper. The attendant put me on the 6th floor, down the hall, and it was quiet. I appreciated that! Thank you! Parking lot gets full but plenty of space to park. Their dining finished at 9pm, and that's exactly the time I arrived, so no dinner on site for me. I asked attendant about food close by and he gave me a sheet where places were listed to try. There is an indoor swimming pool and gym on the 1st floor. I was able to use the gym in the morning, tons of equipment, and pretty empty. Room was clean, bathtub as requested. In room Keurig machine. Building is a little tired looking and could use a face-lift. The conference was also in the hotel, and it served our needs just fine. Interesting button for elevator as only one direction, but it did work. Overall, an A OK experience, but appreciated the kind and helpful staff here.

We complained about not getting a new room as promised so they switched us and the new room had a working air conditioner but there was mold and ceiling damage in the bathroom. The other two rooms we had had wall or ceiling damage as well. All the shower heads in the bathrooms had a lot of buildup on them and were spraying some water to the ceiling. I am guessing this is why there was mold on the ceiling. This hotel is in some major need of updates. It was disappointing that the hotel was in such bad shape but the worst was trying to sleep and relax in a room that was 78 degrees.

Fun fact!-- I've stayed at this resort before, during and after the renovations. This is the first…read moreyear I've been here with all the work complete. I must say, the final product is quite a beauty! Check-in was a little challenging because of misinformation, but that was the only bump in the road. My room was extremely spacious and clean. (Minus a little stain on the shower curtain). The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job preparing the room. (The water gets nice and hot, and there are a couple of settings on the shower head.) I was here for a conference, so I was all over the building! Some of the rooms were a little chilly, so make sure you have a light jacket on hand! The conference center was extremely accessible, as there was a skywalk to get from my room to the main building. I had three meals provided by the hotel (there are other eateries inside), and they were all delicious, and versatile. The hotel has a little snack shop that I purchased an ice cream cone from, it was a nice treat that I didn't know I needed. All in all, the facility was extremely clean, and most of the staff will speak in passing. -- I hope to come back to Margaritaville when it is warmer so I can take advantage of the beautiful lake, and other outdoor activities on the grounds. --Parking is kinda spread out, but there's plenty. This place is perfect for a nice in-state staycation. It's only 3 hours from Kansas City, and definitely worth the drive.

This review is about Timber Falls Indoor Waterpark…read more First. It ain't Schlitterbahn. But few water parks are. Timber Falls has lots of splashing fountains and waterfall cascades from a big water tank. There's slides, tubes, an obstacle course and a lazy river. Add a "sports pool" and a hot tub and you're covered. It's warm & steamy inside. For young kids this is a great way to burn some energy in dreary days. The snack bar has burgers, dogs & pizza. Even some beer for mom & dad to help them survive the chaos. If you're a guest of Tan-Tar-A the price might be included or reduced. If not. Be prepared. We dropped $56 for one kid and a grown-up. Fortunately, our youngest wasn't charged. I'd also note we were surprised there wasn't a lifeguard on site. Be prepared to watch your kids at all times. (Shouldn't we all know that?) Bottom line? The grandkids had fun. Isn't that what it's all about?
