If you want to experience real small town life, come here. There is definitely a routine here that you will follow.
A transfer station is a town dump in Maine. Town Trash pickup at your house doesn't exist in thomaston unless you get a private company.
Follow the orange cones and you will know where to park and follow through to exit.
It's open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday for town people who have a sticker (currently 15$ a year). You can get the sticker in the town office.
A stream recycling station is in the front and the next is for trash. At the very end is an area to take appliances and metal (just dumped an old microwave).
A few people work there and can help you move your trash, though you will need to ask.
Surprisingly, it doesn't stink, nothing like the dump on old county road. read more
