Several years ago I used this company to do a liner for my whole house. What I thought was taken care of and done right has now been shown to be false with the use of a camera from a different plumbing company. Not only did they not do a full liner, they did a very poor job on the liner they did install. I had several problems after they lined my house and they had to come out multiple times to fix things from their work. After the 2nd time they had to redo the liner, they assured me it was completed and fixed. And they showed me video of the job completed. Well, I just saw with my own eyes while the new plumbers had their camera down the main line that this company lied to me. They didn't line the whole house and only lined about 10 foot! And I paid for front to back. Very sad. I know this work is warrantied and I could've called them to redo, but they already lied to me 2 times about this job and why would I want them to mess things up any more. I called to schedule an appointment with a plumber regarding an issue with my water heater. Apparently everything was normal thankfully, Miguel was our plumber. Very knowledgeable, friendly and explained everything in detail. I called about 12pm on a Friday, and I was able to get a plumber in the next 2-3 hours it was really great. They text/call when on the way, even send you a text to let you know they are heading over and what time you can expect them, they also include a photo of the tech to let you know who you should be expecting. After the appointment they send me a detail email with all the information, photos taken of my heater unit. It was a dispatch fee of $59 which was just for Miguel to take a look at the possible issue, this was payed at the conclusion of the appt. this did not include actually doing an more in-depth job, but it wasn't necessary for my home. I knew that's what I needed, and glad to have received the information I needed. Miguel also informed me of the difference packages they offer which can be beneficial for maintenance, I opted to not get it at the moment, since I rather try out their labor services first. It was my first time receiving service from this company and hope that it continues going forward if/when needed in the future. read more

Getting ready for hurricane season, I decided to purchase a 14,500 watt tri fuel generator. In receiving various quotes for electrical upgrade, I decided to hire Cool Today. The first technician arrived and started panel upgrade and rejuvenate various breakers. The disconnect was ordered incorrectly and when finally arrived, the technician was asked about labeling breakers and that it was an up charge of $325 regardless of various breakers being moved. NOPE! If you're looking for lip service, logistical nightmares, and a company who grew too fast for it's britches; then call them. Absolutely NOT satisfied with cool today. They put in our a/c system ($20,000). It worked for a while. It crapped out before a hurricane. Had service calls before a hurricane. Even PAID for their service warranty. After a month and some change (over 30 days in SW Florida heat), they "finally" get a part. Nope, didn't work. Couldn't figure out the issue. After HEATED, yet kind calls, they finally decide ALL their other remedies (several of them. Meanwhile our attic area developed a big mold problem. One tech even recognize the mold, but, no big deal to them) didn't work. They put in a new unit. It worked part time. Then when it went out, we had ANOTHER 30 DAYS of no a/c. When we called and they finally came out, we were told it was because of the humidity setting, or something, on the thermostat. THEY SET THAT UP. Anyway, it would kind of cool, then get warmer. We could NOT get them out again to find the issue. We called the NERDS. They figured it all out and put in a system. The system the NERDS put in is running beautifully. Y'all should see the mold that inundated the system cool today put in. Absolutely disgusting. GUESS WHAT?!?! cool today won't answer calls or be responsible for their mess. Hey, if you are a cool today tech who knows you don't have logistical support and you can be better, apply with the NERDS. cool today has lost focus and grew too big too fast. They can sponsor a huge sports arena, yet can't figure out, fix, and do the correct thing when it matters to any of us little folks. They need to honor their commitment to us, a full refund if they don't get it right in three years. Doubt they will. They are now very much slow playing any dialogue. We have the monthly contract and called them in for a simple kitchen drain clear. It took four hours and the tech had to call in another guy. They went up on our brand new metal roof with wheeled equipment and whatever corrosive product they used in the pipe or on the wheels of the equipment PERMANENTLY ETCHED the coating of the metal roof. So, the main area of the roof that is visible is permanently stained with a rust colored mess. After several consultations with roofing companies and a couple of calls to Plumbing Today, I received a call from the 'plumbing manager' Greg and we agreed to meet so he could #1 evaluate the roof issue and possibly determine what product was used and whether or not there could be some fix and #2 discuss our other experiences with Plumbing Today, that have not met any reasonable SLA, to see if we can continue to work with them. I re-arranged my schedule and drove 45 minutes to meet him and he NO SHOWED and then did not respond to any subsequent messages. I have been a loyal customer for almost 9 years and have purchased / installed two units in primary and rentals homes. I have spent thousands with Cool Today. Over the years, I booked my service appointments back-to-back. My previous tech was excellent. When she left last year, I requested a tech that she recommended. I made the appointments 6 months out to ensure that she would be our tech, but that did not happen. The person who was sent instead was nice, but not the most experienced. After he left yesterday, I discovered at 8 PM that the thermostat was not getting power and AC was not working. I called Cool Today to report the problem and was informed that I would not see a tech until the next day. The tech who returned to remedy the problem was the tech who I had the day prior. He checked the system and what he thought was the remedy did not work. He finally took the mechanics apart and after several calls to other techs (and according to him) there was a "pinched wire" that was shorting out. Clearly, it was his fault because before he left yesterday he did not do a final check. Also, he neither apologized nor acknowledged that it was his mistake in the first place. BTW, I purchased 2 UV light systems yesterday totaling over $2,100.00. The cost used to be HALF that. Their pricing exorbitant and service packages are a rip off as well. Filters for life are now not included except the most expensive. Live and learn I will not be returning and I will no longer recommend them. read more

Save yourself the time, your patience and most importantly your money. I came across Energy Today through an ad they were running that was specifically tailored to Google Nest Camera installation, I just recently got 6 cameras and a doorbell camera for Christmas and thought wow this would be perfect. They have a section on their website that is specifically highlighting their Google Nest camera services so one would assume they are experts or specialists at installing these right? One would be wrong. I unfortunately had the pleasure of meeting "Jordan" the service technician that came to my house to give me a quote. Jordan had this "I really wish I wasn't at work right now, and this all seems like a lot" vibe to him, the man just can't be bothered to work. First he tells me I should have bought another model of Nest camera that had flood lights because "that would have made this whole thing easier" I tell him Sorry Jordan but this is all that I have and I'm not trying to exchange my current cameras or spend more money this is what I have this is what I want installed. "Oh well in that case it'll be a couple thousand dollars" basically giving me a "f*** off" price. Then he proceeds to tell me I have the "battery" version of the Google Nest camera so they couldn't even be hooked up anyways and that I would have to take them down to recharge them. This man could have not been any more wrong and his confidence while telling you information about something he has no clue about is astonishing. The battery version gives you the luxury of choosing whether or not you want to leave it hooked up constantly or if you want to keep charging it. He tried telling me the 30ft cord I purchased was "just to charge the cameras" denying they could be left hooked up continuously so he lacked basic understanding of the products and his excuse was "they're constantly changing them so it's hard to keep up" and eventually I just gave up on having him understand how the cameras work as I could tell he didn't want to even do them so I asked if he could at the very least install the door bell camera. He said $325 if he does the set up or $225 if he just installs it. So I said okay that's super pricey but you're already here let's get it done he assured me it was super easy. But again his arrogance shined through as he proceeded to tell me I have the "battery" version so the door bell couldn't be hard wired and that I will have to remove it ever so often & charge it, I said okay at this point let's just get it done I need a camera here, and he handed me the camera to charge it up while he uninstalls my original door bell. Upon doing the set up it literally asked me if I wanted to keep charging it or hard wire it with a 6 minute video instruction so I showed him all of that and he got impatient with me so I asked him how many of these has has done and he says "I've only ever done ONE, LIKE THIS before" aka I've never touched a nest camera in my life so once I confronted him about that he got impatient with me and said "you know what I'm just going to install your old door bell and get out of here" & "I'm sorry ARE YOU AN ELECTRICIAN?" I have never came across a service technician so unprofessional, cocky, lazy and dismissive. I was so upset I decided to install it myself and it only took me 20 minutes, and guess what? I scheduled to have the a/c unit looked at my business and was told a tech would be out between 6p-11p. I got a text saying the tech Paul Hoang was on the way along with tracking information. I was checking the tracker periodically and eventually saw that the tech arrived at my location at about 6:41p. I go outside, no tech was out there. I then called the office at about 6:47p and explained the situation and was told the tech attempted to contact me. I have attached my call log to show that, that was not the truth. I was then told that the tech would contact me shortly. I waited about 20 minutes and called back to follow up at about 7:13p. I was told that the tech tried calling me 3 times. Again, my call log shows differently. This behavior is completely unprofessional, and time wasting. I will be going with another service provider and will update this review with a better recommendation. Just terrible business. I had a plumbing issue last week and called another supposedly reputable company. They came out, spent about 17 minutes at my home and informed me they found a flushable wipe in the pipes. I questioned this because I have not purchased wipes in over 5 years after being told they clog your pipes. I was charged $352 for this. FIVE DAYS LATER and house full of people (this was Saturday), the toilets backed up again. I called the plumber back and was curtly and specifically told they do not guarantee their work, and that I must have more wipes in the pipes. It would cost me not just another $352, but additional $176 on top of that for coming out on a weekend. That's $528 on top of the $352 I had already paid 5 days prior!!!! I immediately called Plumbing Today. Not only was there NO extra charge for coming on a weekend, their tech, Ruben, was here when they said he would be and they even sent me a link to track where he was in case I needed to leave the house (everyone should do this!). Ruben did a thorough investigation, removed the toilet and discovered there were roots growing at the base of the commode. Ruben was personable and explained everything he was doing and took pictures (something the other plumber did not do). He even cleaned up after himself so well that you never would never have know almost 2 hours worth of work was just performed. In addition to that, Ruben did not find one wipe in our pipes!!! Cool today parks in front of my home and the fire hydrant to walk across my yard to service my neighbors air conditioner! When I told the young man that he needed to move the Cool today vehicle he didn't understand why? Maybe he was trained to disrespect other people's homes and my neighbor is more important than I. Well it turned out that I must have pushed this young man's buttons, because when I went out of my house this morning Tuesday February 21,2023 the nice young man left my neighbors garbage under my kitchen window! Must read before any purchase!! Having a maintenance contract was helpful, until we had a serious issue! Had techs out 3 times in 2 week period. All were super awesome! Last visit a pressure test was done and a leak was revealed in receiver coils this happened on a Tuesday. Then we realized we needed to eval a new unit VS. Repair($1600.00) The following day Wednesday, Vince "the salesman" came to see us and was there 3 hours telling us all our options for replacement with new 2.5 ton unit. Using all existing wiring and plumbing. His bids varied from $7800.00- $9000.00 for a 2.5 ton residential unit? We have a neighbor who had his 3 ton unit from Cool Today installed 4 months ago. He paid $5700.00 and got all the bells and whistles!! I decided to call Vince the "salesman" to find out how the heck this could be possible?? He was SO offended and rude. Over talking us, making excuses. Our A/C was in the attic and our neighbors a closet? Okay, an extra $200-500.00 labor for the attic? Just so you know we tried to resolve this with the owner before this review. Our hope was that a simple phone call showing Vince was taking advantage of our immediate need for A/C was proof with the 4 other estimates we got all $1500-2500.00 lower. After speaking with Nicole the right hand to the owner she said, "I'm going to speak with the Pres and VP right now, this doesn't sound right" Ya think?! Never heard back from Nicole on Friday. Odd, as he was able to pull up our neighbors from 4 months ago to argue the $ difference? All of Cool Todays bids still well over $1800.00 more than the 4 estimates I got on Friday. Great Follow Up but stay on top and be ready to do your own Quality Inspection. I had my 2 units, full inside and outside replaced in March of 2017. The Previous owner pulled one over by charging A/C units prior to inspection but they knew they were leaking. (Dishonesty from Sellers - I recommend always pay the extra to have an A/C person do a leak inspection, general inspectors cannot get it done.) This is not unique to them, the sales people are great and diligent people, the installers are kids or younger learners. Get everything they will do in writing and hold them to it and inspect their work or have someone else do it before you pay. Its more but well worth it. Eventually they made it all right and even replaced the entire unit so that is why I feel they earned 4 stars. read more
