He hired me to bartend for an event a week ago and promised me $500 for the whole ordeal (travel, time and labor). I have documentation in the form of the ad, emails, and a recorded phone call. Immediately after the event he stopped responding to my texts and calls. It took me two days to get ahold of him and when I did (from a different number since he was ignoring mine) he brought up for the first time to expect payment in seven days. Well today is the seventh day and *surprise surprise* no response or payment in my Venmo. If anyone is considering booking him please know that he did not pay me and it looks like he never will. Monday I am going to file a claim in small claims court to try to recover my money. It's sad that Neil would scam someone like this but when I look at his previous reviews and the lawsuit filed against the company I am not entirely shocked. Karma is real, and Neil, you deserve nothing but shame for how you conduct yourself. He also won't answer me about a mobile bar and a bunch of supplies that are stuck in my garage that I am trying to return to him. I guess he made enough money off my back to buy new ones so he never has to confront me. Oh, and Neil, I hope that you know that money was to pay for my dog's dental surgery out of pocket that I have been trying to save up for. I took my entire Saturday night of my birthday weekend off to try and do this for Henry and make it happen. You never know what you are doing to someone by scamming them. I have been in tears over this.

Most organizations offer help only paired with a catering service, and are extremely limited in what services they will provide. Fortunately Portland Party People were available - jack-and-jills-of-all-trades, and genial, to boot. Michelle was kind, gracious, and a complete joy to work with as we planned our event. When they showed up to the venue, right on time, dressed in black pants and black shirts (they looked great!), we were blown away by how friendly, and willing to help they were - with anything and everything. Michelle and her crew showed up about an hour before our ceremony, and because of all the craziness I ended up walking them around the property with our brief, and admittedly incomplete "To-Do" list. I think Michelle could sense I was in a bit of a crazed state, so after a few "Um's" and "... I think there might be something I'm missing..." she smiled, said "Honey, go get ready for your wedding, we'll take care of it," and sent me on my way. Not only did they take care of all the items on our list (and executed them with speed and professionalism), they went above and beyond by serving our guests wine as they sat at dinner, skillfully excusing tables to get their food when it was ready (seriously, I've seen people do this and it can turn into an all out Hunger Games situation!), and making sure everything was running smoothly by taking initiative in all the right ways. At one point it started to rain (thanks Pacific Northwest summer!) and Michelle's staff, without being asked, grabbed a portable tent from the other side of the property to cover our desserts before I could even blink. This kind of initiative was not only impressive, it saved us from stress and worry on our wedding day. Seriously people, these folks are great! When they left the event, all the dishes were rinsed, stored, bagged, cleaned, etc. Again they went above and beyond and made sure the candles were out, and everything was tidy. As if the professionalism of the services weren't enough, Michelle and her staff are a genuinely good people, and truly a delight to work with. I loved the handiness of the truck, with it's bar that opens folds down from one side and the beer taps on the wall coming from kegs inside. They also had a decent selection of wine and bubbles. The concept of renting a booze truck for events is genius & no doubt I will see more of them around town in the future. At least, I hope I do.

Shaylynne, the owner, was a pleasure to work with--clear, thoughtful, and totally on top of everything. Our bartender for the evening, Braelynn, was just as amazing--super sweet and professional, and made fantastic drinks that our guests loved. The pricing was very reasonable--$300 for 4 hours of service, and they brought all the mixers and full bar setup. We also added on garnishes for just $50, and they went above and beyond with options like fresh mangoes for margaritas--such a thoughtful and elevated touch. What stood out the most was their attention to detail. They provided us with a clear and considerate list of alcohol and ingredient suggestions, including smart tips on how to avoid overbuying or wasting supplies. It really helped us plan efficiently. They are currently delivering items from a good variety of food carts downtown, Trailhead coffee Roasters, Stone Pie Joe's, Wingnut confections, New Cascadia gluten free Bakery, City Flowers, and 4th Ave Shoe Repair. The list of places that they deliver for grows all the time. I've been very impressed both times that I've ordered. The first time, I ordered lunch from Savor Soup House. The charge was $5, which seems fair since I don't have to spend time or money on parking. They had advertised a free sample of Trailhead coffee and hazelnuts on Twitter, so I decided to order those along with lunch. I was completely floored when I received a full 12 oz bag of coffee, along with a 2 oz bag of tasty hazelnuts. I don't know that they still offer those freebies, but WOW! They arrived at the exact time quoted, Ben who did the delivery is super nice, and my food was just as ordered. The second time I ordered they were closed although it didn't mention this on the website. Jenn contacted me ASAP, to let me know they were closed, and to offer my delivery free during their business hours the following week. They're a new business, so it's understandable that there are a few glitches that they're finding. No biggy. I appreciate that they're very customer oriented. I ordered the next day, got another delicious lunch, and more Freddy Guys hazelnuts. I plan to order from them when I want lunch without having to leave the house. If you work or live downtown, try these guys. I don't think you'll be disappointed. They take plastic, cash on delivery, and Paypal. How easy is that?

I haven't ordered my catering deliveries from them yet but they can deliver large orders which is good to know.
