Was in the area and decided to give Cool Beans a try. The coffee wasn't bad and I was happy it was New Harvest coffee. But the ambiance left a lot to be desired. I came in the afternoon and it wasn't too busy. There were quite a few girls working so understaffing and wasn't an issue but the place was so dirty. The table tops were all dirty. The floors had food spilled on them but it looked like it had been there for awhile. The station with the cream/milk and sugar was also dirty with wrappers on the table as well as under it. As someone whose family owns restaurants, this isn't acceptable. If it was understaffed I'd be a bit more understanding. But the young girls were just chatting away and one of them could have easily given the tables a wipe down. This wasn't during a rush either. But needless to say I probably won't be back. read more

I am deeply frustrated by my experience today. I slipped and fell because the floor was wet and there wasn't a sign indicating such. I spilled my coffee and banged my foot on something. No one asked if I was okay or even offered me a replacement. If the cafe was busy I would be more understanding, but there wasn't even a line of people. I stopped in for breakfast a couple of days while on vacation and would definitely go back again for the fresh baked blueberry and cranberry/orange/walnut muffins. They are excellent and when I got there a little after 7am on a Saturday they were still warm. Cappuccino and iced coffee were also solid. There was a selection of milks and sugars to add yourself when I visited. My husband got a bacon, egg and cheese and thought it was lacking in bacon. I tried some and it was fine but nothing to get excited about. They were out of ciabatta and that would probably take it up a notch. Place was hopping at 7:15am on a Saturday and 10am on a Monday in July so be prepared for a bit of a wait, but service was fast and courteous on my visits. read more

Me and my friend ordered our açai we begin to sit down a about college who had previously made a smoothie for different customers and then she proceeded to drink the leftover smoothie from the blender and then just rinse out and not wash it she did not use soap just water. Most of the coffee orders were made incorrect, including forgetting flavoring, putting wrong milk type, and incorrect sizing. I really loved my visit. I don't know if they're open again (I went pre coronavirus), but their açaí bowl was AMAZING, not to mention the size of my head. This can be your lunch and dinner. One of the few places in town to get breakfast stuff. It was a summer weekend and crazy busy when we went. A line of maybe 25 people in front of us. We ordered 2 toasted bagels, avocado toast, and a scone. Waited for around 20 mins to get to the front. Took our bag of breakfast back to where we were staying to eat overlooking the sea. Opened the bag to find my bagel was not toasted, and they had not put the scone in the bag. VERY DISSATISFIED. I went to Cool Beans Cafe it was anything but "cool". It was a balmy experience to say the least. When I finally got the food after quite a long wait, I found my panini ice cold, cheese not melted, bacon was alright, the egg yolk was tough and overall low quality. Just to top it off my friend did not receive the coffee that they ordered. Once we politely asked about the coffee not being made, they said it was already made, but the one made was a COMPLETELY WRONG COFFEE! To say I will NEVER be coming back is an understatement. Just got coffee here. Cashier had a very unpleasant attitude, no smiles, seemed like interacting with customers was the last thing she wanted to do. Coffee was ok, but you can't add milk, sugar etc to your liking; you need to ask them to do it. No prices on the menu (seriously?). C'mon with a name like "Cool Beans Cafe" what's not to love. It's a Narragansett staple. It is my little slice of New Harvest Coffee outside of Pawtucket. You walk into the cafe, the first thing you notice is a massive mirrored wall. Makes the space look so much bigger. The overall appearance of the place is classy coffee shop feel. There is cold brew on-tap and baristas that can work magic on the Italian espresso machine. The usual suspects of coffee offerings are here, but the foundation is made with Rhode Island roasted coffees. Açaí bowls seem to be a hit, as well as, their pastry selection. Additionally, there is bottled beers for those care to partake. Cool Beans Cafe is a great spot to catch up with old friends, meet new friends, and hang with some locals. read more

This place is delicious through and through but can get quite busy. There may be a slight wait but i can assure you it is worth it. There is a lot of seating but it is quite tight. We ordered our food and took it to go. I got the cappuccino which was ah-may-zing. They ask you if you want one or two shots. Strongly recommend. The açaí bowls are HUGE and a game changer. I'm so, so bummed to write this review. Cool Beans has the best coffee and pastries in town. While I haven't had their acai bowls, people rave about them. I've been a frequent customer throughout the pandemic and when the wait times got long (which I get -- everywhere is short-staffed right now), I just adjusted by pre-ordering online. This weekend, I waited a total of 30 minutes for two coffees and two pastries. I checked in when I arrived and one of the staff members assured me my order was on the line. A while later, I checked in again and heard someone in the back say, "Oh, I'll start that now." Up until this point, 3 or 4 parties had walked up, ordered at the till, and left with their orders. When I received our coffees, I was told the pastries I'd ordered were out of stock. I could have adjusted my expectations if the staff had let me know ahead of time, but I was assured my order was coming... only to find out that no one had even looked at my ticket. If this was a one-time incident, I would roll with it. But when I picked-up a pre-order last week, a man who'd been waiting 20 minutes for an iced coffee told me, "Man, I really need to be like you and order ahead. I can't wait like this anymore." If this is the case now for pre-orders, I don't have much hope. I don't know if it's short-staffing or the store's internal systems that's at fault, but I have to take a break from Cool Beans until I hear it's improved. :( read more
