Kevin took almost a half hour if not more to answer my questions and get me completely comfortable with what I was about to pay for. No question went unanswered. He was so pleasant and I apologized a few times about my many questions but he didn't mind and understood why I was asking. The roof I was having put on was for a rental and I was unable to be there for the day of install. The crew took pictures at my request each step of the way and even did some things free of charge. Needing a roofer many times in my profession I am extremely happy with the service and quality received. It was worth the 4 week search effort. We set up an appointment for the following day and he arrived on time. He was charismatic, knowledgeable and professional. He emailed me within 24 hours with an estimate and I sent in my deposit electronically shortly thereafter. But it seems once they had my money they no longer felt they needed to respond promptly. I waited 10 days with no follow up and then began calling their office. Occasionally someone answered and took a message, mostly my calls went straight to voicemail. I also tried contacting them through emails, also with no response. After 2 more weeks of leaving word with a spotty receptionist, voicemails and emails the owner, Sarath Jerome, finally called me back, more than 3 weeks after I gave his company a deposit. A team of 4 or 5 men came the following day and completed most of the work. They promised to return the next week to complete the job. They asked for 2/3 of the total cost of the project before they left and we wrote them a check. A week passed and no one returned to complete the job or to even follow up by phone or email. So once again i began calling and emailing with no response. 10 days after they worked on our project I finally got an email from the owner saying he was busy and had just then begun reviewing his emails. He said he would get back to me. Another week or so passed before he returned my email and said someone would be at our house to finish the job on June 30. I prepped the space for the work and nobody showed up. By 1:00 pm I called and emailed to find out what was going on. Jerome replied half an hour later and said that his employee would be at my home by 3:00. No one ever showed up. I emailed Jerome around 5 and asked what happened. He said his guy got caught up on a job and could he come the next day @ 10:00 a.m.?Jerome said he would be there as well. Angry and frustrated but just wanting my project finished, I agreed. No one showed up the following day either. I sent Jerome an email around noon again and inquired as to where he and his employee were. I never got a response. I sent him an email the following day and expressed my annoyance. He has never gotten back to me. We have a friend that is a contractor who was too busy to do the job but who came over to look at what Old Bay Remodeling had done. He said he didn't think the work was up to code and could potentially be a hazard. My recommendation to anyone thinking about using Old Bay Remodeling is not to use this company. They were recommended by Angi's List, so i assumed they were fully vetted. What a mistake that was!

I first heard of Detailz after posting on a neighborhood forum in search of a contractor who could repair/retain my basement wall which partially collapsed during the big January snow storm. Ilan reached out directly to me and was very helpful via email which convinced me to have him come out for an estimate. I also asked 2 other contractors for estimates before making my decision but I immediately knew Detailz would be our go-to within moments of meeting Ilan. He's very professional and straight forward. I didn't feel pushed to make a decision right away and I felt like he was being honest with me about pricing/costs. Moreover, as a woman, I felt safe with Ilan - whether he was conscious of it or not, I felt like he took extra steps to ensure I felt safe and comfortable with him as the only person in the house during the estimate. Once we signed the contract, Ilan was easy to keep in touch with, get my questions answered, and was quick to set a work date. His crew was great. The work was excellent, they kept a clean work space, and once again, I always felt safe when I was in the house alone. I hired Detailz again this summer after the basement issue continued to be an issue - not Detailz work, of course.... just the rest of the basement which was letting in water which gave me consider related to mold and the integrity of the foundation. I still asked for 2 other estimates even though I know we'd end up going with Ilan. All the estimates provided were similar. As with the first job, Ilan was easy to keep in touch with, set up a work date very quickly, and his crew worked hard and fast to get the work done which included a drainage system in the basement and a new drainage system outside. I'm really happy with the work and feel so much better about the condition of my basement. Finally, we had the crew to the house to clean our air ducts. It was something I mentioned in passing to Ilan during the 2nd job and he informed me it was something new they could do. Of course, it was easy to hire him for the job knowing I'd receive quality work and clean breathing. As usual, the process was easy and smooth. Both my partner and mom have met Ilan and both have expressed how nice and easy he was to work with. My neighbor who works from home also expressed to me how great the crew was during their 4 days working outside in between our little ally way. I highly recommend Detailz - you won't be disappointed!

What I got was 4.75" on one end and only 3 1/2" on the other end. Even worse, they ran out of concrete for the walkway and ran out to Home Depot for bags of concrete to hand mix. I requested an extended warranty because the driveway was so thin on one end. 2 months after the warranty expired the front walkway started to crumble.

He asked for pictures of the windows; I obliged by texting several pictures to him and confirming how many windows needed attention. He arrived late the day of my appointment and, upon seeing the windows in person, said that he did not realize that my windows were brown; the caulk that he brought was white. He said it would be best to go and get the proper color caulk and looked up hardware stores near my residence. He found that there were three within a mile of my house. He leaves to go buy the caulk, calls me 20 minutes later and says that he decided to go to Home Depot -- which is at least 6 miles and 25 minutes away. When he returns and completes the work, he charges me for the time spent going to and from Home Depot. I expressed that I should not pay for him being unprepared, but unwilling to argue with a man I had just met, I paid the invoice. I am grateful not to have done the work myself, but would not recommend working with this young man without a firm commitment about the price and his preparedness. I received offers from other vendors willing to complete the work and recommend that anyone thinking of hiring this gentleman explores their options before settling.
