I never imagined that my youngest brother will become a pastry chef. When we were growing up, he never really liked to cook. He didn't even spend time in the kitchen. In fact, I thought that he, being a member of his college football varsity team, had a bigger chance of becoming a member of the Azkals than becoming a chef and a professional baker of pastries and cakes at that.
To show my support for his chosen career, I like to give him gifts that he could use at work. He's most happy when baking or making French macarons, so I gave him measuring spoons, cookie cutters, colorful cupcake liners, and other cake decorating products. All these things I bought from Cooks' Exchange in Glorietta. The store is small but it sells many interesting kitchen stuff. I love their cake candles and toppers. They even have colorful glasses and pitchers that are Moroccan-inspired. Actually, there are some items in the store that I want to buy for myself one of these days. My wishlist includes the garlic press, meat thermometer, and colorful chopsticks. read more
