However, after I ordered it online to pick it up a couple of hours later at this lovely store, Veronica from this store called me to let me know that just while my transaction was going through, a customer in their store had purchased a slice from the last remaining cheesecake, which incidentally I had managed to order online. So, I decided to go with her recommendation of another cake instead. But, she was so sweet, she gave me a slice of cheesecake gratis, since she remembered my friend, the birthday boy, loves cheesecakes. Also, I was able to buy a single candle from this store as well. I'm all set for the surprise!

I decided to roll right in not expecting mind you to meet Lady Jane, so I cannot opine if she is sweet or sour, so this review is relegated to the gluten free desserts since I am celiac. Those of you who have stopped, I understand, but you should know that not so long in the future wheateaters will be sectioned of in an area with garbage cans lit with fire with some people smoking cigarettes while other furtively eat finger sandwiches. But I digress. I was shown by the very nice counter person the GF offerings and when I asked her which she thought was best, I was directed to a cookie (Gluten-Free Chocolate Walnut Cookie) of all things which when coupled with a very nice latte proved that the Stones were correct in their assessment of this Sweet Lady.

I think I found a new fav breakfast spot!…read more When you walk in, there is a counter where you can order to go, they have small grocery items to buy or the bakery items as well. If not, you can dine in and there is a full menu. The dining area is technically the Maral Cuisine restaurant space (so don't get confused). My family and I arrived around 9 on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating! Food+Drink: 4/5 *SHAKSHUKA $16.95: 2 Poached Eggs in our own Made Sauce (Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, Onions & Cilantro) topped Cilantro -- It was nice to have something different than the same old omelette. I'm a huge fan of dipping bread and sauce. *TURKISH COFFEE $4.50: You can never go wrong with Turkish coffee! Coffee that is just potent enough for me! *HOT CHOCOLATE $5.10: Sometimes you just need a nice hot chocolate and this hit the spot! *CALIFORNIA OMELETTE $16.95: Egg, Sliced Avocado, Diced Tomatoes, Diced Onion, Shredded Cheddar Cheese -- The perfect omelette, with just a bit of everything. *CHALLAH FRENCH TOAST $16.95: Thick -Cut House Made Challah, Served with Syrup, Topped with Fresh Fruits -- Delicious and filling French toast! Staff was attentive and friendly! We couldn't have asked for a better first time experience!

First…read moreimpressions; the main dining room I felt was slightly 'stuffy' if that's the word- it looked more like a dinner dining room rather than a breakfast / lunch location in a strip mall. They have done a really good job with the patio and I could see that getting really busy, it wasn't the day we were there as it was a colder day. I ordered the avocado toast that came with a couple of poached eggs and the side I got was a cup of barley soup, my wife ordered the french toast with a side of bacon . The quality of the food was excellent in both cases, tasted good although I felt my food was on the colder side for sure when we finally got it and it was very plain; food took a while considering they weren't that busy. The service was good but not excellent, our waiter came back to check on us once when I thought maybe I caught his eye . I think there's definitely some room for improvement but it won't hold me from coming back... I will definitely give it another try; footnote- a lot of their ingredients are organic and of what I understand they bake all of their bread and pastry items in house. definitely worth a try. Oh, my caffe latte was superb!

Drove all the way from Burbank just to check out Carrara's Pastry Shop in Agoura Hills--and wow,…read morethey absolutely did not disappoint. It's a small, charming café with a cozy atmosphere, featuring old-school car collectibles displayed on a shelf that add a unique touch. They also offer outdoor seating where you can enjoy your desserts surrounded by lush greenery, natural foliage, and a peaceful little waterfall pond. The service was great as well, they were friendly and welcoming and answered all my questions. suggested I definitely I ended up picking up a chocolate and hazelnut cake with an incredibly soft, spongy interior that was perfectly balanced and rich without being overwhelming. I also grabbed a single serving of the blueberry cheesecake, which was light, airy, and still decadently satisfying--definitely worth every spoonful. The rum babas were a standout: bite-sized, soaked in Jamaican rum, filled with Chantilly cream, and topped with a raspberry. So flavorful and unique--each bite was indulgent without being too heavy. And then there was the Velina cake... oh my goodness. A beautiful sponge layered with chocolate mousse and hazelnut mousse, all covered in a glossy dark chocolate glaze. It was so rich and decadent that I had to slow myself down just to fully enjoy every bite. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully made, and worth the drive. I'd absolutely come back again.

We were greeted right away, and we let one of the people working there know we wanted to take a look around as it was our first time stopping in, which was okay. The shop itself was empty. We took a look at the ice cream selection, the full cakes, and then the pastries. Everything looked really good. We decided on a chocolate trilogia pastry and a red velvet pastry to go. The transaction went well. When we got home, we ate the goodies. The trilogia was fresh and had great flavor. The red velvet, unfortunately, did not meet expectations. The cake part was dry, and the frosting was dense and had little flavor. Maybe I just ended up getting an older one, but at $8.25, I had expected a much better item. The service was great, but as a red velvet lover, the flavor was not as expected. I would potentially try again but would sample some other treats.

I wished there was a little more veggies such as tomatoes and mushroom and less of the greens. Maybe next time I need to let them know. Hector was our server. Such a nice and polite gentlemen. There was couple of hiccups that didn't bother us but it was nice if it was handled differently. They forgot to bring the bread for our food. Since it was my first time I didn't think it would come with bread. Hector forgot to bring and their other staff member realized it. They came and apologized and brought us our bread but our food was done by then and we actually went to purchase croissant for carb addition. Anyways what we didn't appreciate about our experience and was so uncomfortable was the chief. She came to our table and her intention was only to get the server in trouble and catch an error for him. She said who was your server and when I told her she said ok I thought so and left. She then left and you can tell she got mad at him and said something cause then he came and apologized to us for forgetting the bread. I kept telling my husband this is so u comfortable we didn't even say anything or show reactions. we told hector don't even worry about it but please know we didn't say anything to get you in trouble. Anyway I felt very bad for him . I appreciate that restaurant worker and chief came to apologize and try to fix error but I think chords intentions wasn't to apologize but rather try to discipline hector and yell at him. In general I think it's best that management team keep their work professional in front of customers and if there's any disciplinary actions that needs to be done it should be in private , I. Office and not front of the customer. I just wanted to express that hector was very professional and even with all that happened he kept himself calm and his apology was sincere. I'm not sure if the chief even apologized I don't remember or that it was even genuine. I have high star still bc the good , atmosphere and coffee was good and they shouldn't lose points for that

Literally one of my FAVORITE breakfast/lunch spots…read more I come here at least 1-2 times a week--whether it's for a quick coffee, a pastry, or even lunch. And when I say everything I've tried has been a hit... I mean it. I recommend this place to everyone I know because it's just that good. They have tons of options--healthy choices like sandwiches and salads--but what really takes the cake are the pastries They have so many to choose from, plus cakes for any special occasion, and trust me... they do NOT disappoint. I usually stop by alone since I work nearby, but this past weekend I brought my family because if I love it, they had to try it too--and they were just as impressed. The quality of the food, the service, everything was on point. My sister got a breakfast sandwich (my first time trying it) and it was so good. My mom got the farmers omelette sandwich, which I already love--it never misses, always packed with flavor, 10/10 every time. I was a little stuck on what to get since I've tried almost everything, so I asked for a recommendation and went with the tuna sandwich... and WOW. It did not disappoint. The tuna was so fresh and paired perfectly with their house salad, which I'm a huge fan of. And don't even get me started on the cookies they have so many options if you're craving something sweet. The place itself is small but super homey and cozy, which makes it even better. Overall, always a great experience--I would recommend this spot to anyone!

Everything was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. The cheese boat is simple yet spectacular. I'll get that again for sure. The bread itself is addicting. You can tell it's freshly made. We also had grape leaves and baclava (both perfect). We kind of over ordered but we had plenty left over for another full meal for the both of us. The woman working the counter was very nice and helpful. We ate there this time and the dining room and restrooms were both very clean. I like that they offer a "healthier" soda, called Stubborn Soda I believe. I don't usually drink soda but tried a few of these flavors and enjoyed them all. We look forward to coming back!

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant…read more When I arrived, I observed a kitchen employee lying down on one of the benches and taking a nap in the dining area. This was very unusual and not professional. More concerning, my wife and I ordered a salad, and shortly after eating, both of us developed stomach pain and diarrhea within a few hours. Based on the timing and symptoms, we strongly suspect the food may have been the cause. I contacted the restaurant the next day and spoke with a staff member (name starting with "A"). She took my number and said management would call me back. No one followed up. I called again a few days later, and was told the same thing -- still no response. It has now been about a month with no communication or resolution. Very disappointed with both the food quality and the lack of customer service. I would not recommend.
