The staff are friendly here, and the menu selection is great, I had so many choices, and the majority of the menu was suitable for me to eat as a coeliac - in the end, I decided to go for the fish and chips, wanting to try some seafood while in Portugal, and with the sea being right by, I knew something fresh and tasty was coming, although they did have a selection of other dishes which would certainly interest me if I return to Porto.
The prices did seem slightly high for Porto, but the portion sizes and quality did make it appear to be much more value for money, the portion sizes were huge, and both I and my guest were unable to finish our meals.
The interior is fairly simple, but it is also comfortable. The tables branded with the Portugal flag were an interesting, memorable touch. There is also a small television which was showing sports.
I went for the fish and chips, while no one does this dish like the British, this certainly comes close. The individual components of the dish were good: the fish, the batter, the garlic butter and the fries, and it was also served hot. I also tried some of my guest's food, who ordered the chicken, the chicken was also pretty tasty. I did, however, get the feeling that something was missing from both dishes, that final bit of flare that made a good dish a great one.
4* - Overall, my experience here was good - good food and good service and probably the best choice of gluten-free food for coeliacs in Porto.
