We get to the office and the person at the front said that when they tried verifying, it had a different health plan's name which they don't take. Makes zero sense, right? I tell them, the health plan they found was my employer. They nearly turned us away because of this stupid error. How difficult is it to verify insurance? You literally go online. The group number is the employer!! Second, the person at the front violated HIPAA in speaking publicly for the reasons of the visit. So I reprimand him. Still deciding if I should go to high level leadership about this. Retraining is definite necessity.

When we contacted, they responded, "How about another doctor tomorrow?" Either the clinic is very disorganized, the staff is performing favors for other patients, or the doctor does not know how to conduct his business! How could the office or the doctor treat a new 90-year-old patient in this manner? The specialist at UCI referred him to us. This is completely unprofessional and insensitive. When we called today, we heard every excuse in the book and repeated "we understand, but this is the way it is" NOT GOOD!
