Every time I come here I always order Cajun fries and they NEVER put the seasoning on them, I always have to go back in and get the seasoning. Anyway, a young boy came through the speaker said "what do you want" I said Hi, he said "again, what do you want" "what are you ordering". I came to get dinner after my night at work and when I pulled in the line was small with only about 6 cars and yet I was in line for about 15 minutes before my order was taken. I understand that sometimes the staff can get overwhelmed because I have worked fast food in the past so I tried to be as polite as possible when I drove in. I asked for no ice in my drink and it was filled to the brim with ice. I also told the woman working the register to have a good night as she handed me my food and instead she just rolled her eyes as she moved onto the next person at the speaker. The food itself was perfectly fine, I just wish the staff could be kinder. I understand being overwhelmed when it gets busy, but that's no reason to be outwardly rude to the people coming in to eat. read more

I loveeeeeee cookout and am rarely disappointed with the food. Even when my order is wrong, I know the food will be good. BUT holy cow the drive thru is slower than the DMV. BUT, in the Cook Out restaurant in Lincolnton, NC, we were told to leave the restaurant area where we were eating and still eating (almost done) because they said they were closing the lobby. We were a party of 3 adults, all over the age of 50. I understand closing the door to new business but I've never been told in my entire life to leave a restaurant or fast food place while in the middle of eating the meal. They still had the doors open and new customers were still walking in and yet we were told to leave. I've been in restaurants and fast food places where we were still eating when their lobbies closed and they let us stay to finish. In fact most said TO stay. It's a shame that Cook Out in Lincolnton NC did this. I liked the food but this treatment makes me not want to come back. read more

There's always a long line in the drive thru that goes out to the street, which is fine. I definitely wouldn't mind waiting if my order wasn't incorrect every single time I go here. I understand being busy and this can be a tough place to work, but if we are already waiting 20 minutes in line, then please just take the 5 seconds to double check the order. November 11, 2020. 2:30 pm Food was only average. I used to go here a lot but seems like product and service has gone down hill recently. Service was awful. Felt like I was intruding on staffs play time!! Masks were securely on their chins, with the exception of the girl at the window that after playing with her mask got it to almost cover her nose, no one I could see had a mask above their chin!! So last time I went here food was pretty descent and service was great but today was another story. The young lady at the cash register was very nice the entire time, got my food sat down and notice the cheese wasn't on my sandwich (which you pay an extra .45 for). I came to the Lincolnton store on Wednesday, April 22, 2018 and placed an order to take home . I ordered 2 cheeseburger tests cookout style one tray no onions and two coke floats. When I got home and began eating my burger, I realized that the burger only had onions and mustard and ketchup. The other burger had lettuce, tomato, and onions. Now I am severely allergic to onions and didn't realize I had bitten into onion until I had it in my mouth My mouth beganI swelling . I immediately took medication i Have and Upon realizing that my whole order was wrong , I decided on Saturday April 21,2018 to stop by Cookout and show my receipt hoping they would replace both orders and was shocked by the away manager or manager I spoke with. She accused me of bringing in a receipt that was 9 days old and that is simply not true. I was angry and demanded they check their records and see that it was in fact April 18, 2018 and not 9 days old. I was told that the manager agreed to replace one not both of the orders. I was again angry because I am being called a liar. I have the proof that this order was in fact on April 18 , 2018 between 6: 40 & 7on because I used my debit card to pay for the order and both the ticket order price and my debit from my card match in price and in timing. I really love Cook Out milkshakes: 5 stars for the ones that feature chocolate, mint, caramel, candy, or cookies. Avoid the fruit flavored ones-- they don't taste like much. Lately, as in, within the last half a year, service has really gone down hill. They have gotten my milkshake wrong several times since Christmas, sometimes when they weren't busy at all. When I've gone inside to get the shake instead of waiting in the drive through, I've waited 15 minutes; people who ordered several trays of food were served before my milkshake was ready-- to the point that others waiting would comment that I must have ordered a lot of food to wait this long. Haha nope. Just one milkshake. Yeah, it busy in there, but not THAT busy. Regarding the food: I give it 4 stars. It's better than the national chain options, but it's not anything remarkable. Food was okay; ordered footlong hot dogs, two different kinds of burgers, seasoned fries and ranch wraps for four people. Here's the catch: EVERY SINGLE TOPPING for the burgers, hot dogs, and chili cheese fries COSTS EXTRA, except lettuce. EVEN THE CHILI AND CHEESE WERE EXTRA FOR THE CHILI CHEESE FRIES. The situation was absolutely ridiculous. Never in my life have I witnessed a menu like Cookout's. And to beat it all, all of the extra charges were on the menu in such small writing that you barely could read it. It reminded me of the tiny writing you see on the bottom of the TV screen during a car commercial. Just another way for them to pull the wool over your eyes. I happen to have a calculator on my phone, and thought I had added up EVERY SANDWICH AND EVERY TOPPING (TWICE), and my total was still 4 dollars more than the total I got on my calculator! For four people, the total was almost 30 dollars!! Other people in these reviews say that the food is cheap.NOT IN MY BOOK!!
