Made the trek to Batesburg-Leesville specifically to visit Kwik Karry. I had heard about the hot…read moredogs served at this gas station and I knew it would be worth the trip. They advertise that they've served over 4,000,000 hot dogs which is pretty impressive for a spot this size. I asked if they were serving at that time in the morning around (11:00am) and she said they were hot and ready as soon as they open (music to my ears!). The combo of two dogs, chips, and a drink totaled something like $2.80. Talk about affordable! The dogs were ready quickly and I took a seat at the table in the back by the coolers. They were hot and fresh. The chili had a really nice tang and bite that complimented the creamy slaw really well. I also got a piece of pound cake because...why not? It was delicious as well. This place proves that gas station hot dogs should NOT be looked down upon.

The place is a lil rough on the outside but it's a gas station/convenience store, so to be a lil expected. You just need to go suck it up n go inside... you'll be glad you did. There are a couple 2-person tables inside to eat and a rough but nice enough his/her restroom (better than some fast-food restaurants I've been in). Overall, I'm glad we went while we were visiting Greenwood, SC. Not sure I'll be back that way again but if I am, I'll stop again. Definitely recommend for any hot dog lovers!!

It's a simple gas station and convenience store on the outside, selling sodas and beers and apparently, quite a few lottery tickets. There is a kitchen area with posted menus of fried foods and hot dogs. And here I am ordering two bacon fried hot dogs with onions, mustard and chili. Oh, Mylanta. They're not very large but two was plenty. Prepared to order and brought to me at the table, I enjoyed them quite a lot. Delicious and full of flavor, I am expecting some heartburn later. Friendly service in this out of the way spot. But you need to put it "in" your way and get some Dawgs. [Review 19355 overall - 929 in South Carolina - 325 of 2023.]

"Boiled then finished on the grill," she replied. Perfect. "And do you grill the bun, too?" "Absolutely!" We got a winner. I cannot stand only boiled hot dogs on a bun straight out of the wrapper. Seared. Charred. Grilled. Toasted. Do something to add character and flavor, please. This place understands. Within a few minutes my 1/6 pound beef hot dog was delivered. Charred dog, grilled bun, diced onions, tangy sauerkraut, and yellow mustard just as I asked. Mmmmm! Pro tip: both the hot dog and burger buns are brioche, and are then buttered before finishing on the grill. For me, it was too rich.
