Have a service emergency? Make an appointment. My CX-9 was shutting off on the highway while traveling with my family. I went to this dealer for help, explained my situation, and was told to leave the car overnight or make an appointment for another day. The lady scheduling wouldn't even come to the counter and just yelled out, "We're too busy". Leaving my car is tough to do when you don't live in this state and just passing through, as I explained to them. Regardless, leave the car they said. I just wanted at minimum a diagnostic. Hook it up to the machine. Perhaps it's maybe something stupid I can resolve. Classless. I hope our Mazda dealers in Florida don't treat you the same way. They shouldn't. horrible experience - I brought my car in this morning for a 1030 appointment for diagnostic of an AT code for when I drove over 60mph. after two hours of waiting in the lobby with no updates, I went up to the counter and they told me I needed a full transmission replacement for codes P0771 and P0741 and that I had dirty, low levels of transmission fluid. The cost of such repairs? 5,400$. When I pressed on if that was really needed, the guy just said yes, there's no other option. Well I've gotten a second opinion from another car repair shop and they said that was complete garbage and they're trying to pull one over on me. I wasted 140$ on 2 hours of diagnostics with almost zero customer service and a bad service plan which would cause me to throw my money down the drain. I am never coming back here! read more

Cook Automotive pursues the too common strategy of obscuring the true price of the vehicle with a hefty documents fee of $499 (this is in addition to the expected tax, titling, and registration fees). This is the maximum allowed by law minus $1, and it is displayed as small and as far from the advertised price in their listings as allowed by law. They obviously don't want customers to see it. It worked for me, and I was unpleasantly surprised by the fee at closing. The general manager explained that they need to price this way to compete since "all" other dealers charge a documents fee. So, they are following a status-quo non-transparent pricing strategy which means they get a status-quo 3-star review. Purchased my son a 2020 Kia Soul on August 9,2023. Upon picking the vehicle up after cleanup at 10:30pm at night we quickly discovered that 1 of the 2 keys di not work, luckily the salesman that sold the car was still there and confirmed my problem with the keys. At opening the next day I spoke with Dan who was the used car manager and we agreed that if I purchased the parts and provided a invoice that I would be reimbursed. Dan texted me all his info, and where to email the invoice to, Dan agreeing that he would cut me a check for $287.56, multiple phone calls to Dan saying he will look into why my check hasn't been cut. Apparently that isn't good enough for the GM Sam Cook, who doesn't have enough respect to call me by name and kept referring to me as "buddy", according to him I should reach out to his manager that no longer works for him and ask why I haven't been paid by him. He can't pay me off a verbal agreement and the text message with the manager telling me he would have me a check cut, he needs something in writing. Also it isn't the dealerships responsibility to verify both keys work on the vehicle that they had inspected, and sold me. I'll make sure that every person that comes through my businesses that are looking for cars where to steer clear from. Just a quick glance at the about us section where it says "What sets us apart is our unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction. We firmly believe that purchasing a vehicle should be an enjoyable and hassle-free experience" That section really needs to be revamped and updated because that clearly isn't the current beliefs read more

Not a TERRIBLE BUYING experience, although the salesman promised to get me the advertised 2nd key which I still do not have (he acted like he didn't know why I asked him for it again). Brought vehicle back due to corrosion on the rims causing air leaks (all tires). Was told I waited too long to come back, as if the corrosion accumulated in the months I drove the vehicle (it's a 2016-not new). They THEN told me that I didn't have the Tire & Wheel protection OR the extended warranty that I purchased (which I do and I presented the documents). It would have been simple to rectify, but Cook wanted to charge me for the work. It was also inexpensive, but I decided to take it elsewhere. He had become an expert on the vehicle I came to see, knowing every feature, every aspect, everything. He even tested the bluetooth and the sound quality of the speakers. It was his excellent service, along with his manager that caused me to reject the other vehilces I was looking at and do business with Cooks and Tavian. I purchased this vehicle on the night of 9/28. I came to Cook dealership Monday night, my husband and I were on our way to buy the Toyota Highlander from another dealership and we happened to run across Cooks advertisement for the same 2016 Highlander but with a plus an entertainment DVD player, we immediately called Mr. Howard and cancel our appointment with the other dealership. Within less than 24 hours the key battery on the car was low, I called and appreciated the fact that Mr. Howard agreed to replace the battery. We appreciate Dan for agreeing to pay for majority of the cost of the second key, with us only having to pay $76 for the remainder part of the key. On 10/3, I drove the car and notice the front bumper was missing a clip and out of alignment, I appreciate the fact that they are willing to fix that this week. On 10/3 is the first time I drove with the kids in the vehicle and first time. When I got in the car and put the entertainment DVD player down, I noticed it occluded me from being able to see the back windshield and I could not see any cars behind me which is very dangerous. I immediately went to the dealership and discuss my concern and issue of the vehicle with the salesman Howard Garvin who informed me that the vehicle was made like that, at that time I informed him I had called today and they ran the VIN number and told me that the vehicle was not made like that and it must have been an after market addition. Mr. Howard had nothing else to say so he went and brought Dan the Manager. I explained the situation to the manager Dan Caphill, and asked for me to exchange the vehicle or be allow to return it. I informed Dan with Howard present, that before signing any documents we made Howard aware that the DVD player in the 2016 Highlander is what brought us to cook's Dealership because we have 6 children and we keep them entertained with the entertainment system in the car. Dan entered the vehicle to validated my concern. He dates understand my concern and the issue but there's nothing he can do about it, he said the DVD player is not a safety issues because we just have to not use it while driving. At this point I am in disbelief because I chose to buy a car from this dealership because of the DVD player, so if I cannot use it for the intended purpose why did I buy the car? After pleading I was told by Dan that the deal is done and the bank has processed everything, therefore it cannot be undone. He stated he wish he still had the ability to cancel the deal but at this point he cannot and also he stated we purchased the vehicle weeks ago. I corrected Dan and informed him that we just purchased the car Monday night 9/28/2020, less than a week ago. I felt really low when Dan told me technically why when we test drive the car we didn't drive it with the DVD player down since that's what attracted us to the car. This line I would not expect from a reputable dealership such as Cooks because it is low. Saying this to me, a customer shows that this dealership can not be trusted. I agreed my husband and I should have put the DVD player down while driving, but we did not think of that, since we were informed by Howard that the car was good to go we trusted his word. Integrity in any business means a lot. Yes it's the customer responsibility to do their research however I have never ever in my entire life purchase a vehicle from a dealership and one of the features which attracts a customer is a safety violation when in use. Why will they sell a car to a customer when they know the entertainment DVD player occludes the driver rear view when in use while driving and this is the whole purpose of having a DVD player in the car is to have it playing when driving. BE CAREFUL, false advertisement, safety issue with a vehicle and having only one key to vehicles seem like the norm for this business. read more

Went here to purchase a vehicle for my daughter. Emailed prior to ensure the vehicle advertised was available and set up an appointment. The car was on their website for $10,000. Test drove the car and was going to purchase it. They wanted to charge almost $1,500 extra for reconditioning. Then when it came down to agreeing on an actual price, the sales manager told me that they advertised the car at the wrong price and it was actually $11,500. Can you say bait and switch? My daughter found another vehicle that she liked and we purchased. If were just for me, I would have walked out, but I wanted to make sure my daughter got a car. A couple days later we realized there was only one key provided. I reached out to the salesperson and he assured me he would check on it and get back to me. Well, after 2 calls to him and one to the sales manager, all of whom told me they would call me back, I never heard from them.
