These guys go above and beyond. They did an incredible job on the shelf unit of my old Saab hatchback, even able to do the sides of it which I did not realize was possible. It could not look better (including the material and color they recommended. When the job was done and paid for, I asked if there was a way to unwarp the shelf (it was already like that). And so they figured out a way to do just that. I came back in a second time a few days later because there was one small area left that only my eyes could see from the front seat, and Dan spent some additional time getting it absolutely perfect. The only "complaint" I have is that they operate during standard business hours and it can be a bit of a pain to get to depending on your work schedule. Also, as an FYI, they're pretty old school and take cash, check, or Paypal for payment. I've been meaning to replace my top for what seems like forever, but life keeps happening. My parental unit offered to take my car down for a quote on replacing my super ragged convertible top to get the ball rolling. Kim called me after looking at it with all the details and a quote, upgrading my current acrylic top to cloth. I agreed to the terms and they were able to give me an appointment 2 weeks out with a small down payment. I arrived 30 minutes early, but they knew who I was and were ready to go. As is standard with any car drop offs, they do a scratch and ding which was very thorough. They quoted me 2 days and were done early, which is always a nice touch. Les and his team have been of great service to me over the years on fixing the little things. Such as seams coming loose on my drivers seat. So when a larger job came up, replacing my interior headliner, I knew right where to go. But sometimes things don't go to plan and in this case we had a minor hiccup in the process. This required Les and his team to redo the headliner at their cost. Not only did they replace the headliner, they paid for all my transportation costs as well. Convertibles Only has serviced my Porsche Boxster top twice. Both were minor things to them and the service was very prompt and fairly priced. They know their way around a Boxster! An independent Porche shop had damaged part of the top sealing system... I will not return to them for top repairs or anything else. Convertibles Only resolved the issue caused by others. I have a 1967 Jaguar E Type OTS (Convertible). Les and his team replaced the entire top of the car with a brand new one and they did a masterful job. Replacing the top on the E Type is notoriously a very complex job. It involves metal parts, wood parts, curvatures and points of tension to be perfectly calibrated. These car were partially assembled by hand back in the day and they all present some tiny differences that cannot make any repair truly "routine". The job was impeccable, however about six months later a piece of the chrome around the top suddenly came off. I went back to CO and they spent a good 2.5 hours fixing that, plus another component that was making too much noise but that I really did not even complaint about, they just noticed it. The work was flawless and they did not charge me a penny for it. These guys are truly exceptional craftsmen. In a world that's heading straight into artificial intelligence and automation, they are as rare as golden nuggets! read more

Les and team have been taking excellent care of my 1999 BMW convertible for over 12 years. I've had troubles with the convertible top on/off for most of those 12 years. They have ALWAYS found a way to keep it working. Whether it be an adjustment, a new motor or a new top they have always fixed the problem. In addition, they stand behind their work....even after a year! They installed a new top in Sept 2018; in Nov 2018 I brought it back as it had developed a small leak. Not only did they fix the leak, they made adjustments to make the top work even smoother and reattached some liner pieces that had come loose.....all at no cost!! Calling CO and getting Les on the phone and he spend 20 mins with me to help me understand what he was recommending. Wow most shops just tell you to bring the car in and they will give you a quote. 2. Scheduling was easy, someone from the office called and confirmed the appointment. 3.The service performed made me enjoy my car again. I also don't have a leak that I lived with for years. 4. The price, when I was quoted 1800.00 at a shop on the Eastside I was ready for a sticker shock. I was not ready to only pay about 300.00 for the repairs. Awesome! 4. When I went to pick up the car Les said hello and was very polite and made sure I knew that Kim did all the repairs. Kim was awesome! I made an account just to review the perfect service I just received at Convertibles Only. I had my top fixed there this morning (''03 Honda S2000, notorious for having tears in the OEM Top) and what can I say, excellent, excellent customer service, possibly the best I have ever received, especially from an automotive business. I came in around 1, without calling ahead or having an appointment, and it was done in less then an hour and cost around $70 (which seemed like a steal to me). They patched two tears I had, one above the drivers head and one behind the passengers head, and she also added a reinforcement patch opposite the passenger one on the drivers side where tears are likely to occur. I am extremely pleased with the results. If anyone is hesitant about going there, don't be! I saw a few pics of a recently done Ferrari 250 GT California that they had a new top put on. If they are trusted with one of the most valuable road cars ever produced, then they can handle just about anything. Also got a quote on a replacement top for my car and it was around 1700 plus tax, which seemed like a great deal to me, especially considering you would be in over 4k to have it down at Honda and Honda would be installing the inferior OEM top. I will definitely be visiting them when I need a new top. read more

Back in March, the folding, plastic rear window of my 2002 Boxster cracked in multiple locations, when I attempted to drop the top on a sunny (but cold) day. My mistake. I saw good reviews for Convertibles Only, and stopped by one afternoon. Les (the owner?) looked at my car and offered several options. They could remove the top and replace the plastic window, or, for a few hundred dollars more they could replace the entire top. These options were clearly laid out, for each make and model of vehicle, in a set of binders. I spotted that an additional options was to replace the entire top to include a glass rear window (introduced to the Boxster in 2004?), at a cost roughly double that of just replacing the broken plastic window. The price seemed reasonable to me. Les helped my choose the exact grey color for the top (my Boxster is Arctic Silver with a grey convertible top), and whilst I waited he called and ordered the complete top from his supplier. Les also took the time to discuss how the glass rear window may make working upon the Boxster's mid-engine more difficult - a quick call to my maintenance shop (Aker's) assured me that this would not be a major issue. The new top was delivered to Convertibles Only within a week, and I dropped my car off on a Monday morning, on my way to the airport for a business trip. It took about a day longer than I expected to fit (6 days) - Les called to explain that he was not happy with the initial fit and that he wanted additional time to ensure a better appearance. I appreciated the attention to detail. The new grey top looks great, and as a bonus I now have a heated, glass rear window, that Convertibles Only connected to my car's existing wiring (intended for use by the Boxster's optional, hard top). The price seems very reasonable to me, with no surprise extras, and it was a pleasure to work with Les. Be aware that they prefer payment by cash or cheque, rather than credit card. Really impressed with this service provider. I had some vandalism to my convertible top repaired by them after receiving thorough, explicit quotes for both replacement and repair options. They also replaced a couple of interior leather sections that were badly worn and looked horrible, and they dyed the other surfaces to match the new leather beautifully. My poor Subie was stolen over MLK weekend and turned up over 3 weeks later -- but only after the thieves put 2000 miles on it and riddled the front seats with cigarette burns. If this is your first convertible and it needs repair, you really have no idea what you're doing, so you better find someone who's not going to rip you off. The owner Les has been around for over 20 years now and the reason is because he's honest, skilled, customer oriented and reasonably priced. I took my '95 Porsche 911 in that I just bought with a small tear, seals deteriorating and bands worn. He estimated the work to be $400, he charged me ~$300 and I left there the same day with perfect repairs. Les, you are going to heaven, my friend. I had a top that was "wonky" on a 2001 Mitsubishi Spyder. I don't get up to Seattle often, but I worked stopping in to a trip into town. I called, but nowhere NEAR making an appointment. Les was working with another customer on a spectacular white '57 Chevy Belair. I waited my turn and enjoyed the view of that truly wonderful piece of art. Les came over and I explained my problem. He looked at my car and said, "I can fix that while you wait." And so he did. 45 minutes later, replacing a bolt and connecting a strap with a new rivet, I was as good as new and ready to enjoy the rest of the Summer. Yes, it was 45 minutes, but I would have happily paid for an hour. That isn't the way that he works. I was billed for 3/4 of an hour. It was less than $100 (they prefer cash / check transactions). For those of you that get this, I even "helped" (by being an extra pair of hands). Thankfully Les didn't charge me the elevated rate for that (I've seen those signs in shops)... I enjoyed meeting and talking with him and can't say enough about my experience. Hopefully next time I'll get to see his '46 Lincoln ragtop. Thank you Les. The top on my newer Porsche Boxster wasn't folding properly and Barrier suggested a complete replacement at $5,000. I got a second opinion from an upholstery shop on Aurora and they also suggested I replace the top for $1,900. I decided to check out Convertibles Only because I'd heard good things from friends in the business. I was not disappointed. When I arrived Kim and another tech came out and patiently listed to my explanation of what was going on and diagnosed the problem within minutes. They didn't try to up charge me and they didn't point out every little thing wrong with my car like a lot of places typically do. They looked for the most simple and logical solution to my issue. The job cost $180 total and they even refunded half of the leak test fee because it didn't take them as long as expected. That saved me over $1750 and I have had absolutely no problems with the top since I've taken it to them. They even got the job done the day of the appointment. To top it off they gave me a sponge for my top and an instruction sheet with care tips of convertible tops. These guys are awesome. read more

Took Boxster in for convertible top adjustment as it was closing (and opening) cattiwhaumpus and after speaking to Lee, it was right in that the previous shop had not adjusted right. It took 2 hours to adjust as they stated while I waited and the technician had me come out to see what they found. Which was the drivers side ball end was not installed at all so top was being pulled open and pushed closed by passenger side pushrod only!! Fortunately we found the uninstalled ball end in the top compartment area. Great service as I have been to shop twice before for different reason. I had a small but consistent leak between the roof of my '95 Miata and the passenger side window. While I was Strictly BMW (another great car repair spot; they do the work on my wife's X3), I asked who does their convertible work for them. "There's only one place we trust, Convertibles Only in Seattle." Enough said . . . I made an appointment. Les personally took a look at my car, told me not to worry and that most of time it's a simple fix (my roof is fairly new), and . . . 45 minutes later all was well! He found a few miscellaneous things in a channel (the car is 20 years old, after all), snaked out the drain, etc. When we bring our cars to someone it's because we can't fix it ourselves. Trust is the key. Convertibles Only is trustworthy.
